21 years old. Another head canon type blog about Transformers. Some nsfw stuff. This blog is predominantly an archive blog for my works. I did not know you couldn't change your main blog without creating a new account.

It's been over a year since I completed an ask for headcanons this blog, let alone write anything longer form. For followers, new and old, I figured it was due time for me to make this post.
I've all but left the Transformers fandom. I still enjoy the content, but I don't feel the passion to create and write for it like I used to. I may come back to it one day, but I believe I am done writing for this blog. I would delete it, but I know many people still enjoy the content here. Either coming back to it or enjoying it for the first time.
It's for the people who told me that they found comfort in my work. That I provided some stress relief after a long do or helped them feel alone. That came to me to celebrate their graduations and birthdays, or to help them through grief and hardships with my writing. I'm leaving everything up for you to enjoy and read freely.
If you want to see what I'm up to nowadays, check out my blog @opal-kitty333 and opal_kitty333 on ao3. It’s still self insert, but for Undertale. Sans and Papyrus and the various aus. It's not a headcanon blog like this as I'm focusing more on my own ideas now. Longer written (and far more polished) fanfic instead of one off the scenarios. I would still love to talk and answer questions if you choose to check it out.
Thank you for all of the good memories and encouragement. I am genuinely proud of how much I've improved my craft and I never would have gotten this far if it wasn't for all of you. I can't put into words how much this all means to me. Truly, thank you, and have a lovely day.

xreader fic is so inherently healing like
do you love yourself? no? that's okay this character you love loves you back. are you kind? that is why they love you. are you patient? that is why they love you. are you a coward are you shy are you brave are you bold are you bratty? that is why they love you. you are loved and you will not be punished for seeking love. you are loved and you will find it here in these words.
do you love yourself yet? no? that's okay this character can love you until you do. this character will point out the few traits you can relate with yourself (your smile, your laugh, you brattiness, your whimsy, your strength, your sorrow) and tell you that they love that about you until one day you can love it, if not yourself, too.
do you love yourself yet? no? but you're starting to accept that you can be loved? that there is something in you- your awkwardness, your bashfulness, your straightforward mind, you ability to heal, your ability to fight- that someone could look at and learn to adore? well done. you're right, this character does see that and adore it. you may not love yourself just now, just yet, but now you see right? That there is something to love in you?

Okay, I do agree with this post, I want to make that clear, but as a nerd there's something I want to add to it. (I also don't know how much OP knows about transformers as a whole and I don't want to assume.) MTMTE had a character turn out to be Primus, and their whole thing was following the Knights of Cybertron, trying to find the religious and holy place they found essentially. With the functionalists universe valuing what is good and true (so things that are made in a way that is natural to what Primus makes) and then the reveal that Primus is just. Some guy. His very existance is completely counter to everything they believe. He can make crystals that can be used to make more cybertronians (and he can make more matrixes. idk why, it's kinda purely for plot but not to relevant to this addition). The only time he would be anything special is if the planet died, since if it wasn't for the war the planet would have continued to make sparks indefinitely. I think it could have been done better, and I ultimately have very mixed feelings about the whole reveal with the other primes, but it brings in some interesting concepts. A deified figure who is just another person who cares about others and his image has been completely distorted through time is interesting. This actually happens a couple times with the place the knights of cybertron found turning out to be a place to help terminal patients find peace before euthanizing them, and Necrobot is genuinely just someone who catalogs the deaths of everyone and those who kills them so no one would be forgotten. There are several different branches of religion, with Rodimus canonically switches religion (with his whole blueberry color being a religious coded message to get revenge for what Getaway did. It's why the burning of this coat of paint was so symbolic to his character. We just don't see much of his religious change otherwise unfortunately :/)
Ultimately, a lot of MTMTE handles anything religious as it's either made up or it's actually just Some Guy(TM) which also isn't great.
Transformers being mostly a kids show with a couple adult oriented continuities just isn't going to try and tackle religion very often. Plus with most religious stuff feeling like it's trying to import christianity somehow (which is just what the Good Primus vs Evil Unicron feels like to me most of the time) I don't think we're going to get many interesting interpretations any time soon.
not to still be all up in arms about the transformers religion but holy fuck, robots having religion is nothing new, they can have theology! that makes sense! robots who are fully sentient seeking out a reason for their souls is totally fine! im not saying the transformers shouldnt believe in primus or the all spark or believe in the 13 primes that whole thing works, it just bothers me that the canon of their religion is canon to the story. why is their planet LITERALLY their god. why is their religion based in literal history. i shouldnt even call it their religion, its just their canonical history. thats the problem! it comes from the perspective of writers who see religious doctrine as real history!
it also sucks for the nature of the robot as a concept! instead of being machines so advanced they are sentient, they are now fully formed beings granted souls by their god. thats no longer synthetic life conceptually, is it? that is a higher being creating life out of nothing. the concept of robots comes from slave labour, machines created by man to further their own advancements. machines created by organic life, not machines granted life by an ethereal being. they were created as commentary on capitalism. it asks the question "if this life is created synthetically, but it forms sentient thought, it is alive?". most other stories containing robots do this. think about overwatch's omnics, mass effects geth, star trek characters like data and the doctor, we the audience see them as alive but people in their worlds have to debate about it. that is the point of science fiction, to have theological discussions about robots.
what disappoints me about transformers isnt the changing of the lore, but the fact they couldnt conceive of anything more interesting to say about robots. i was watching g1 thinking "i cant wait to see future adaptations take this concept and flesh it out", and watching these adaptations strip the nature of the robot entirely from the lore in place of some all powerful god really sucks! imagine if their theology was the same, but their history was not. imagine robots who believe their planet is their god in spite of not actually knowing that to be true. wouldnt that be conceptually more interesting? wouldnt that say something?
instead of a unicron who is just a cosmic horror, a rogue planet who hungers for other worlds to sustain itself, unicron now represents all evil in the universe. hes a being of pure evil, existing as the equal and opposite to the canonically good god primus, the planet of cybertron. that ruins the concept to me. theyre taking the fun of science fiction out of it, turning it into basic "all good in the universe comes from god". it takes the choice of being good or evil out of it. giving them literal souls takes them choosing to say they have souls out of it. it takes the choice of valuing biological life away from the robots themselves to say that it is simply evil to not.
maybe some adaptation i havent gotten to yet will say something else, but as it stands right now im just so disappointed that this is the route it took.

more than i even like self inserts i love the power of the second person perspective. like from a literary standpoint, the discomfort of you is so deeply appealing to me. it forces the reader to engage with a story in a way it is not required from other perspectives. i like it literature and in video games and in art. i like when a story challenges my concept of self and tells me: forget everything. this is a story about you (disambiguation)

okay, i'm not super active but I used to write TF fic all the time. I still have people who come in and excitedly consume the few things I do post and re consume the old. Write what you enjoy, people will come. The fandom may seem small, but that means people are thirsty for new content and while it may take a while to get the ball rolling you can carve a spot for yourself.
If you want to build and audience taking requests for head canons here there can help between any larger fics you're working on (while also helping characterization or giving inspiration sometimes).
Any tips for writing for the Transformers fandom on tumblr?? Really want to get into writing for TF, but low-key super nervous to do so. Since I firmly believe no one will read it. Plus, the fandom seems kinda small.
I've only ever wrote for two fandoms on Tumblr but I have this post explaining how I started this blog if it's any help!
I honestly don't think there is any reason to feel nervous regarding reception. If you feel the motivation to write go for it; it is something I've found to be cathartic and generally fun and I think you may have the same experience. But, also, I rely pretty heavily on interaction myself for motivation so I understand the anxiety. Luckily, with consistent posting numbers have only gone up, and that seems to apply to most people. You'll find your niche and you'll find your people to continuously support you!
I can't attest to how large this fandom is as someone who again has only been involved in Tumblr fandoms twice (including this one), but I feel people's enthusiasm here is great and likely makes up for any small population.

Hello! S/O is phlegmatic and usually doesn't care what happens on the Autobot base. Type...She just watches, doesn't go anywhere, and doesn't do anything special. Perhaps her pofigistichnost emotionlessness and some laziness irritates the active Miko. What about bots?
I now have a very obscure word to describe me from high school. Cool
There's a general feeling of 'why are you here?' Everyone else is fighting for the lives of themselves and those around them. They're either clinging to the moments of peace while they can, or preparing for the next fight or mission. You don't take part much of anything, and when you do you aren't even an active part. You shrug off most invitations unless there's the option to sit and watch.
That's okay, bots like Optimus, Ratchet, and Ultra Magnus are pretty similar, but they're also usually busy doing something. You're human so you're technically there for your own safety more than being an active war effort so there's no reason for anyone to suggest you leave.
Making bonds with most of them is going to be hard.
Wheeljack is probably just going to ignore you unless he's your guardian and then... He's a pretty high energy guy most of the time. He likes having someone he can banter and be rowdy with. Considering he wouldn't be much of being anyone's guardian you're already gonna be fighting a bit of an uphill battle. it's not that he dislikes you, you go along with whatever happens well enough that you aren't a bother, it's just hard to forge a bond when you give him nothing.
Bulkhead is a little torn. It's nice to have someone whose calm and mellow. As much as he loves Miko, if the team got another of her he's pretty sure Ratchet might explode. He just wishes you would try. Maybe if you put yourself out a bit you'd feel more like apart of the team but with you always standing on the edges watching, it just feels like they have an odd one out that won't leave.
Ratchet and Magnus feel pretty similar. You're another human, another liability if you're in the field, and another person they have to watch for at base. You don't cause much trouble so they aren't going to open the can of worms that is fighting for you to be kicked out.
You can't understand Bee and you don't really go out of your way too interact with him as a result. You're relationship with him is somehow even more painfully neutral than anyone else on the team.
Arcee feels a little uneasy around you. She can't pin point why, but she tends to linger on the edge with you whenever you're around. It just doesn't feel comfortable doing things with someone constantly watching like you.
Smokescreen is probably your best bet when it comes to a guardian. Someone who he can explore human culture with whose level headed and takes a backseat while he picks what he wants to do would probably be good for him. He considers you a friend but he can't shake the feeling that you may not feel that way towards him. Makes him feel down if he thinks about it too long.

i like them, when they’re good.
a laughtrack used to fill air or point out that ‘yes! that setup was just as funny as the punchline!’ is annoying. if i remove the laugh track and a 1/3 of your episode is dead air, then it’s bad and I hate it (big bang theory my despised).
there is a show called Red Dwarf that has it, and I think it genuinely ads to it. it’s about a group of guys 3 million years into the future in deep space getting under constant stress. a lot of it is played for laughs. i think without the laugh track a lot of it would loose it because sometimes you see something that’s genuinely kinda horrifying if you sit to long with it. having a laugh track to pull you from it makes it feel less lonely, keeps thing light hearted, and overall improves the show (in my opinion).
does every bit of canned laughter land? no, but i’d be hard pressed to find a show where every joke landed, canned laughter or not. especially since this show is from the late 80s and still running, some jokes just feel a little different as the show matured.
Okay this is super dumb but I have to know how you guys feel about laugh tracks in sitcoms

Headcannons for MTMTE Ravage, let's say the liaison can shift into a panther but still smaller than Ravage, when she was younger she was stuck in the panther form(she was young so cub) for 1 month so she understands the feeling of not liked being toched without consent.(platonic plz)
The idea of reader being stuck as a young cub and knowing what it's like for people to touch without consent because people assume 'dumb lil animal must pet' makes me think of those zoos that let you pet lion/tiger cubs which opens up a whole host of possible angst and trauma oof. anyways
Mtmte Ravage
You try to keep your whole other form secret since normal humans aren't to fond of strange things like you. When you're put on the Lost Light to keep an eye on Megatron you don't try as hard to keep it a secret, but you certainly don't advertise this ability of yours.
It's kinda funny though that the other person sent to keep watch also looks like a panther though. Considering you don't even need to transform for bots to be a little to hands on you two have this sort of... Unspoken understanding of each other. You aren't close (at first) but both of you get what it's like to have others consider your personal bubble as a suggestion.
One crisis later and you use your other form to run away since your much slower as a human. You end up running into Rodimus and he thinks Ravage somehow got turned into an organic. It's a little awkward explaining the whole situation but most take it in stride.
One bot starts talking about having 'two widdle kitty cats" while you and Ravage are in the room and both of you have a 'turn to the camera like your in the office moment' before you both threaten to rip out his spark.
For the most part it's a lot of just 'same hat' moments. Though it'll till take more than that for you and Ravage to become proper friends.
