Horrortale’s creator caught proshipping

This just in folks, Horrortale’s creator Sour Apple Studios caught not only proshipping BUT making suggestive art of an original character WHO IS A MINOR

June 1st, the pride month before the fall, the patron unveiled this here post featuring not only Aliza’s rear end as front and center but said rear end being on Sans Horrortale’s lap. Thats right, the creator is stepping above and beyond in “what the fuck”age by not only inventing a minor character but making self-described mature art about them.

Using my newfound knowledge of how to DO a read more Ive even included the proof below the read more, it’s also publicly viewable on the website at this point in time and while the way back machine doesn’t seem to be loading the images you can at least confirm the text matches with these disgusting, distasteful screenshots

I'll be appearing at the New Dorp Comic Con on Staten Island this Saturday, May 10th. I'll be tabling/signing next to the folks from JHU Comics and will be doing a panel at 2:15 pm.

The con is at New Dorp HS, 465 New Dorp Ln, general admission is $10. And JHU Comics is literally up the block from the high school in case anyone wants to check out my old stomping grounds and pick up some comics.

I'm bringing index cards and some paper in case anyone is interested in getting a sketch, I'm not sure what I'll be charging but it will definitely be a lot less than what the drawings have been going for on eBay. I won't have any books for sale but JHU Comics will probably have some of my work for sale. And I'm happy to sign any books of mine that anyone brings.

Hope to see a few folks there. Or even one person. Anything to justify my getting up in the morning, which I only do a few times a year. Because it pains me.

Also, I really want to try replicating your artstyle (to leran more and later develop my own unique one). What do you prefer for beginer artists to get into that iconic Marvel comic style?

I wouldn't suggest anyone try to develop a Marvel/DC/mainstream comics style unless that's literally all they want to do. There are limited opportunities for artists to get on those comics or to carve out a career making those kinds of books. In general, people with that style don't get hired to do a lot of other art jobs, because that style is seen as limited to projects that require it. If you can't stretch your style to do other things, storyboards, character design, illustration, etc, you might find yourself grasping at straws. Think about the most popular cartoon characters, they're not drawn in mainstream an American comics style. A commercial art style isn't a comic book superhero art style. But the heart wants what it wants, if superheroes are your thing, go for it. But learn to work in other styles or try to be adaptable. I can't draw in a very good superhero style but I've done some superhero work in the past. And book covers, animation design, my own comics, magazine illustration, and I also write. The more you can do the more opportunities you'll have. ALSO - superhero/mainstream style go in and out of favor over time, some folks find their style no longer in demand. Unless you're so amazing a "mainstream" artist that your work becomes immensely popular and iconic, it's hard to maintain a superhero career for the long run.
