Black is modest and arrogant at the same time. Black is lazy and easy - but mysterious. But above all black says this: "I don’t bother you - don’t bother me". Yohji Yamamoto 📷: @romalingovender

God Is Good
Yo
It’s only the beginning of the third month and I feel like a lot has happened. The big guy upstairs has been blessing the kid.
I’ve been meeting and learning from a lot of creatives. My photography skills aren’t where i’d personally like them to be but they have improved vastly.
I have been attending more and more events around Durban just to network and be seen (and have fun of course).
Having a plan for the year is starting pay off.
The biggest highlight of the year so far has to be having my photographs on the GQ South Africa website http://gq.co.za/2016/03/street-style-cooloutvintage/
Personally it is a huge achievement as I missed an opportunity in 2013 because I couldn’t afford a plane ticket down to CPT for the interview.
All in all I am grateful for what the lord is doing in my life. The road leading here has been rocky but he has always looked out for me. I am most of the things that were just ideas in my mind back in 2012.
Never give up on the things that you want the most. no matter how hard it gets or how long it takes. Trust God’s timing.
2016 is going to be a great year for me.

Meet Shiwe (left) and Zamo (right) two eighths of Amarato. A poetry and sartorial collective from Durban. I had the pleasure of meeting these two gents yesterday at @8morrison during Slow Saturdays. Conversation about our common love for style lead to an impromptu photoshoot. I personally believe that they will have a major influence on the current creative boom that is happening here in Durbs. You saw them first courtesy of #LZimelaPhotography
