That’s the thing some Swifties can’t simply say I liked it but it wasn’t for me in their mind they have to listen to it over and over to force themselves to like it.

Like it is completely fine to not have one of the works of an artist you like jive with you. It is genuinely completely fine. It doesn't mean you're turning them away for good? But some Swifties seem to believe that they have this personal relationship with TS, and....you don't. That's not even a slam, you literally don't. I am sure she cares about her fans, as a celebrity might, insomuch as the nebulous group of people that consumer her content and give her money, fame and adulation. Like any celebrity.

But TS is not going to be personally offended if one of her fans didn't personally connect with one album. I promise she won't. Yet they talk like she will.

Don’t get me wrong I like some of Taylor Swift’s songs but her new album seems very pretentious

I can't really answer for the level of pretentiousness as I have not listened, but the way people react to it is just insane to me. I deadass saw some comments saying they were going to read the lyrics in order to like it, or make themselves listen several times. People know they don't....have to like it, right?

Saying that, I also saw someone saying "if you don't like every album you are not a true TS fan"...like, you get how culty that sounds right?
