I imagine that the animatronics escaped the fire and were found by a robotic engineer who fixed them and pieced them back together with old parts. His entire lower half had to be replaced, so leather pants it is!!!

Bonus of an hc of mine on how things used to be (warning: minor spoilers!):

Listen- as much as the current Mazercise is cute and dandy, I refuse to believe that's all it is. Yeah, mazes can be fun. But if you've been into it way too many times and spot the pattern it becomes really boring pretty quickly (including the food discounts and stuff).

The whole area gives me the vibe to be some kind of family-workout-hangout so I headcanon that Mazercise really used to be a combination of Mazes and exercise - in other words, it used to have a workout room like those gyms have.

Chica probably is the instructor there during after-performance hours, similar to how Bonnie is implied to be in his bowling alley at the same time.

What happened that made them remove it?? well... here's a scenario:

It may be fun and thrilling, but it won't sit well with the Karens™ :'))

I was walking through the toy aisle at Target when I found this thing and had a VIOLENT AND IMMEDIATE FLASHBACK to when JP first came out and they had a bunch of REALLY COOL T Rex toys that I would have sold one of my scrawny small-child limbs for but my mother wouldn’t get me one because they were “too violent and also ate people” :(
