     “I’ve been told Her Majesty is requesting Tantalus to perform in the upcoming month.  Is it safe to say you will be also be taking part?”  With the whirlwind of happenings from former plays put on, she hadn’t quite been able to enjoy Marcus’s acting- especially as Zidane stole the show last time.

   Maybe they Beatrix could also extend her gratitude she had no time for their rescues without obligation.

   --- There was something to be said about the Alexandrian General. She was, for the most part, pleasant to talk to... So long as you abide by the rules, that is.      “That’s up to the Boss,” he stated simply with a shrug, turning his attention fully upon the sterner soldier. After all, as was often the case, the older man typically did get the final say.

     Yeah, of course Marcus wasn’t worried. Marcus was rarely her target to unleash her wrath. That seemed to fall onto him. He can act like he doesn’t know why all he wants, but to call a spade a spade - the two dug each other but Blank was too immature to be anything more than what he currently was; an urchin. Besides, she needed to relax a little. Hmmm… maybe she could use some sleeping weed.

     Blank offers his hand out, expecting Marcus to give him another drink ( which he does ). “So lemmie ask you something. This whole thing with Zidane and the Princess. Think that’s gonna last or burn out when there ain’t a crisis to deal with?” He asks, taking a few chugs following. Being committed… at their age. It was hard to wrap his head around, and this is the one space he can be honest.

   --- A mouthful from his own is followed by silence. A moment of contemplation. Not that he needed one. He knew full well how he felt about, well, to call it what it was, this little fling. A temporary thing. Sure, there may have been some kind of feelings involved currently but... Another swig was taken, smaller this time. “Prob’ly not. They’re too young,” his views stated as simply and as straight to the point as many had, perhaps, come to expect from the man.

       Ever the realist, he was never one to dwell too long upon fleeting flights of fancy such as this. Better to base your mind in what is tangible, right? Right. Not going to find yourself subject to silly misunderstandings or tricky situations that way, after all. “’Sides,” a grin twisted on to his features, “It’s Zidane. When has he been able to focus on one woman for any length of time?”

hi i just want everyone to know that i will never ever EVER be angry with anyone for not replying to my texts even though you’re visibly online and reblogging/posting. i understand that holding a conversation takes a lot more energy and effort than scrolling and posting and that’s 100% okay. take care of yourself first. the whole idea that you HAVE to reply to someone when you’re online is toxic and makes mentally ill people feel as though they are bad friends just because they can’t always reply within minutes.

//written up 99% of my drafts. unfortunately, I am in a “hello I’m not sure about these” mood so I’ll be posting them tomorrow once I’ve re-read them with a clearer head to counteract this, I am going to go flop over to my OC and write there for a bit (because like i said in a post a few days back, i’ve lost a lot of confidence writing canon characters but it doesn’t affect my ability to write an oc) for as much as Marcus is something of a breath of fresh air sometimes, i really cannot stay away from my not so smart high elf child.

Okay so, I’ve been replaying FF9 and I came across this letter in-game from Ruby to Zidane:

And it’s just that last part has gotten me to thinking about something. I’m gonna preface this with this is just my thoughts on this, there is every chance that later on she realises who they really are later on, but early on in the game (this was around Clerya) she doesn’t seem to??? I’ve seen a lot of “Ruby is aware of the Tantalus guys being bandits but isn’t one herself”. Heck, I’ve been thinking that way myself, until I read this today. The “Come to think of it, you Tantalus guys look like a bunch of outlaws! Just kidding.” is making me start to think otherwise.

Of course, there is every chance I am reading too much into things, I’m very good at that. I dunno, maybe refreshing my memory and paying particular attention to interactions with Ruby in the future will shed more light...
