❝ I didn’t say it to reprimand you, merely to educate you so you could know should you meet them. ❞ Her thin shoulders merely shrugged as she made her way inside, nodding to him as she passed. ❝ I do appreciate your giving me shelter. Blizzards are a bit more than an annoyance, even for my kind. ❞ Looking around, she smiled at how homey it looked, choosing the nearest seat to take perch on. ❝ I suppose now would be as good a time as any to ask the name of my kind stranger, ❞ Lucille said as she crossed her legs, leaning back in the chair. Perhaps she should’ve asked before walking in, but she felt like learning his name would be better than just calling him ‘you’ or ‘wolf’. Little did she know what his last name was, of course.

He smiled as she passed, but quickly rolled his eyes at her comment about not reprimanding him. Fenris was not well equipped with people skills - it probably didn’t help that he disliked the majority of people. Despite this though, he felt it would be disastrous if he left her out in the cold with an impending blizzard.
Closing the door and securing the locks, the gruff man walked over to the open kitchen and picked through the fruit on the island counter.

“Fenris Wolfe.” He realized the irony of his last name, and what he happened to be. “Are you hungry?” He was trying to change the subject from his name to something a little more...not interesting, but mundane.

Honesty was something she always tried for, especially when it came to finding a new ally or the like. The way the male tilted his nose and inhaled made her lips twitch with the desire to grin, barely able to keep the expression at a polite smile. ❝ I believe that they prefer to go by ‘them’, and I did find them rather evenly tempered. Which makes your second inkling correct, and our new neighbor has decided to gift us with a blizzard. ❞ At his statement of going in or leaving there, Lucille chuckled, a brief look of surprise crossing her features. ❝ Inside, it is. Better to be caught in here than out there, being buried in snow isn’t something I’m rather inclined to experience today. ❞

Fenris crossed his arms over his chest as he grumble incoherently. His lip twitched as he bared his teeth - less of a threat, but more of warning not to get on his bad side. “Next time I see them, I’ll apologize.” He then proceeded to open the door to his cottage, stepping aside slightly in order to let her in. “Smart choice, Miss. Lucille.” The cottage was by no means a mansion, but it had enough space for the likes of him to live comfortably in his self imposed isolation. It was even spacious enough to accommodate a guest should he ever have them. “Make yourself...well...comfortable, I guess.” He avoided telling anyone to make themselves feel at home - it was his home, not theirs.

❝ I would rather not tangle with it either. I imagine even a wolf with such strength would be rather feeble in the face of the giant. Though I doubt I would fare better against you, were you to choose to use that strength against me. ❞ At least she was honest. Being so new to what she was, she knew that his strength would be better than hers, mostly because she was still learning her own, coming to terms with it.  ❝ Lucille. I didn’t mean to intrude on your solitude. I was enjoying the woods, the air, and I found myself drawn here. And then I was intrigued by that large creature out there. Though I find it strange how much the temperature has dropped since its arrival. ❞ There was a slight shrug of her thin pale shoulders as she looked away from him and to the woods she’d come through. ❝ There was a time when I never thought to see such beauty again. It wasn’t my intention to burden you. I lost myself for a while. ❞

So it seemed that she knew what he was as well. He found her honesty rather refreshing, though he hadn’t encountered many vampires in the past to accurately decide whether or not she was actually lying. At her mention of the temperature drop, he set his nose in the air, and inhaled deeply. Something was not right - excluding the giant blue creature. “Well, Miss. Lucille, either Mother Nature is havin’ one of her famous fits, or that giant thing is causin’ a blizzard.” Sure, there weren’t any signs of a blizzard yet, save for the drop in temperature, but he knew. “You’re either comin’ in, or you’re getting the hell out of here before the snow sets in.“

❝ You’re oddly calm for having seen an invading giant blue alien-like lifeform. I wish more had your temperament. Perhaps the world wouldn’t be in such a panic from inevitable events. ❞ Lucille spoke calmly as she stepped to the side of the male, sniffing the air. Forever would she give her maker gratitude, saving her from the sickness that had threatened to turn her into the undead in a far less appealing form. They’d saved her to bring her to another world, to guide her to wherever it was she was most needed.
Though now, that world was beginning to be overtaken by entities that they couldn’t hope to overcome. ❝ Would staying inside have made a difference? I believe that the large blue fellow would still be out there, you would just be none the wiser to prepare for his arrival. ❞ Then again, how did one prepare for such a thing? ❝ Lovely place you’ve chosen, for your solitude. I do hope that he keeps his distance, not to disturb such a beautiful bit of peace. ❞ All of her words were gentle, voice calming and light, never accusatory nor meant to incite ire in another. It was all merely observations, and her genuine curiosity over certain things. The world as it was, it was still new to her, especially being what she had become, it was a learning process.

Fenris looked to his left, he brow furrowed both in confusion, and annoyance - mostly the latter. “Ma’am, with the world going to shit, I don’t see any point in working myself into a panic.” He briefly looked back at the creature, pointing at it as he looked back to her. “That there is not something I want to be tangoing with, even on a full moon. Maybe staying in wouldn’t make much of a difference, but I sure as hell know that I’d rather not have to know that something a lot bigger than me is lurking out in the woods.”

He took a moment to breath in the crisp air before turning to face her completely. “Mind telling me who the hell you are?” He knew what she was, and she wasn’t human.

Nothing about what was happening was normal. It was not normal to come out of one’s isolated cottage in the middle of the wilderness and see some giant blue creature off in the distance. It was even harder to tell exactly how far off the damned thing was because of the sheer size of it. He had never seen anything taller than the trees before, and it worried him - not frightened - worried.
“The world is going to hell, and now we have a giant on the loose.” It was hard to believe that seeing a blue skinned giant humanoid creature didn’t frighten him more. “Knew I should have stayed inside today.“ He shook his head, and turned back to his front door, believing that if he ignored the creature, it would ignore him. Hopefully.
