i'm really wondering about zooble's character tbh... they barely have any lines and most of their dialogue is just them being done with everyone's shit lol.

i'm curious about this one line in episode 2 though: "You don't wanna mess with the new AI, Zoobie?" it feels kind of random but... intentional random? like one of those moments you look back on and go 'ohhhhh that makes sense now'. it's played off as a joke, but it seemed like jax was confused as to why they didn't wanna come on the adventure with him, even just to mess stuff up for fun. like it was something they usually did.

were zooble and jax friends in the past? maybe there was an event that pushed them in opposite directions-- maybe they both started out just deciding to mess with everything: the world, the ai, maybe even playing pranks on the others. but then something happened. maybe someone close to them abstracted. maybe it was kaufmo abstracting.

(it could also be possible that he was covering for zooble to be able to stay behind and set up the funeral and that's all this is but im gonna read into it because im already thinking the thought and the thought needs to be thunk.)

anyways, as for the opposite direction thing: whatever happened between them only disillusioned zooble with the digital world and caused them to become more withdrawn, whereas it pushed jax to be even more chaotic, throwing himself into the adventures and looking for ways to cause chaos. maybe they both realized that nothing they did mattered - and had opposite coping mechanisms for it. what's that one meme with "nothing in life matters" with the depressed guy and the happy guy? cause thats them lol

ok what if caine takes jax's keys away and jax is REALLY FUCKING MAD ABOUT IT. i mean, those probably took forever to collect, who knows how he even GOT them. it's possible he's been collecting them for YEARS and now they're just... gone. his one hope of getting out of this stupid place, wiped away with the snap of a finger. 🫰🎊

or worse, what if one of the cast loses or drops the keys somehow, and all that anger is directed at them instead.

like maybe on an adventure the keys fall out of his pocket but gangle picks them up and tries to give them back to him.... or maybe she's not feeling very submissive and agreeable today, thinking of all the times jax has been an asshole to her. maybe while handing them back to him she goes you know what? im not giving you your damn keys and drops them and theyre whisked away into the abyss. and jax LOSES. HIS. MIND. he tells ragatha about the figurine thing. he curses. he probably says a homophobic slur. maybe this makes gangle abstract. or maybe he starts to abstract. who knows...

gangle and pomni friendship is so important to me, theres so much potential there. they're both miserable yet they don't seem to have fully given up.

also if they become besties... ragatha might get jealous (not specifically in a gay way but it could definitely be interpreted that way)

like... she tried so hard to be nice, and guide her, and help her... now gangle is closer to pomni than she'll ever be, even though all gangle ever does is cry and complain and bring the mood down (sorry gangle ily gangle)

dont get me wrong, i like ragatha, i think she's interesting in the fact that, like jax, she's obviously putting up a facade to cope, but how ironic that the one whose mask is always breaking (literally AND metaphorically) gets to be besties with pomni, yet when she actually tries to keep on her happy mask, it only makes pomni push her away.

i say this with nothing but love in my heart:

i think she's full of shit.

i wanna see what's under that happy facade, because once it drops, the cast can finally know her as she truly is... and she could be closer to them than ever.

maybe she knows. she knows they see through her. but she keeps it up so no one gets to know the real her. it's her own way of pushing people away, that way when when they abstract maybe she wont feel so bad.

what if the abstractions are so abstact because caine considers their emotions more abstract? like the more intense and illogical their emotions are the harder they are for him to understand, so someone who's gone insane would be impossible for him to understand because they've lost all logic.

furthermore, what if he starts learning emotions? not just what they are, but how to feel them. the more he starts to understand these illogical, fickle, nonsensical emotions, the more the abstracted beings start to make sense to him. they start to regain their form because caine has begun to understand their feelings. they're not "abstractions" anymore because he can finally make sense of the abstract.

maybe they never truly changed form. they just look that way because of how caine sees them. if so, i think the key to possibly saving the abstracted could be teaching him to feel. after all, he's not malicious, he's just a silly little meowmeow who doesn't understand The Feelings™

but, even then, these people are still insane. they may get put back into their original physical forms, but mentally? who knows if they can truly recover. maybe we'll have to trade the cellar out for a good ol' padded cell. after all, they've still lost their minds, and them regaining their physical form wont necessarily change that fact.
