List of fandoms that I've been a part of, since I started writing:
Fictionpress era
2019-2020
Death Note + Dakaretai Otoko + The Promised Neverland
Ao3 era
2020-2021
Pokemon + Psycho Pass
2022-2023
Jujutsu Kaisen + Case Study of Vanitas + Bungo Stray Dogs
2023-present
Bungo Stray Dogs
Honorable mentions
Descriptive writings on Qoutev, a Bungo Stray Dogs fic published on Wattpad, and a fic published, but later deleted, on Webnovel (I was invited by one of their owners, via an Ao3 work comment, to publish a fic of mine on their site, because they liked my style. I later on found out that they scam writers this way - ask them to post on their site, and then use their work illegally/without permission).

'Show, don't tell'
The term is used to reference writers going into deep details when explaining a situation in thier writing pieces, instead of highlighting the main events and then the impact that said situation had on characters, or on the main plot.
Do not fall into this trap. It makes your writing piece extremely mundane, and will turn readers away because they will lose interest in it.
It's arguably not easy because, as a writer (and especially if you are a story writer), you will naturally incline towards wanting to introduce everything to your readers. But once again, do not do it. Let them connect the dots themselves sometimes, instead of handing everything to them on a silver platter. You will find that most of them will be smart enough to do so, will enjoy it, and it will keep their interest in your story piqued as well.

Tip for improving the flow of your writing
Try not to use words like 'that' and 'however' frequently, or repeat names too often. This was a mistake that I made alot at the start, and I didn't even know I was doing it until a beta reader of mine pointed it out. Take this simple sentence, for e.g.
There was a reason that they did that
Compare it with this one.
There was a reason they did that.
The second one obviously sounds and reads better, because 'that' is not being repeated.
The same goes for names as well. If you have already used a character's name a few sentences before, try replacing it with gender pronouns the next time instead. For e.g.
Sam went to his room. Sam sat down on the bed and thought about what to do.
Compare it with:
Sam went to his room. He sat down on the bed and thought about what to do.
Which one reads better?
Another tip is to avoid using words that have the same meaning. For e.g.
Sam and Jane both were surprised.
Here, it is evident that Sam and Jane are two people, so putting 'both' is unnecessary. Instead:
Sam and Jane were surprised.
The same goes for other words too. Try not to use synonyms in the same sentence, because it counts as repetition.
These are very little things that might seem insignificant, but they can help improve your writing greatly when paid attention to. It's the little things that count the most sometimes after all ;)

Suffering from a writer's block? Here's what to do
WRITE.
Yes, I heard you the first time - you are stuck in a writer's block and can't seem to able to write anything. But the best way to get out of this is to (believe it or not) write something - anything, that is coming to your mind. It sounds counterproductive, but it actually really isn't. Because writer's block essentially means that your creativity is getting hindered. And when you actively try to write something, you are brainstorming, and thus overcoming that barrier to your creative thinking processes. Free writing can also help you deal with a lack of inspiration or motivation you may be experiencing - you might write something during your session that will make you want to explore/expand on it further, and when you write something, you will feel proud of it and this will encourage you to write more.
Hence, the best solution to overcoming writer's block? Just keep writing, just keep writing, writing, writing.
Source: From an author who is recently coming out of a months long writer's block (me).

A few tips from if you want to write well from my own personal experience:
Use correct grammar. I can't stress the importance of this enough. If readers can't understand your story owing to poor grammar, they WON'T like it and what is supposed to be an enjoyable reading experience for them will become a frustrating one instead.
Use vocabulary. Where you can substitute simple words for those that have the same meaning, for e.g. replacing "very afraid" with "terrified", do it. It will have a very good impact on your writing and will give the impression that your story was written by a mature and experienced writer instead of by an elementary school kid.
Break your story up into regular paragraphs. This was a mistake that I made alot in the beginning and it not only made my story difficult to read, but also gave off the impression that it's more of a college essay than a story 😂 (someone even commented that under one of my earliest fics that's how I remember it 💀).
Last but not least and this is my own VERY personal tip: Incorporate plot twists into your story and incorporate them in the most UNEXPECTED places. Keep your readers on the edge of thier seats the whole time they are reading by being throughly unpredictable and giving them the occasional twists and turns when they least expect it. I guarantee you that it will keep readers hooked to your story the whole way :P And especially if your story is already catchy enough and you leave it on a cliffhanger, they will be dying to know what happens next 😉 It's a win win on both sides - you will enjoy writing your story more and they will be fully invested as well.

Tips for writing characters in-character for a story:
So I've heard of a few incidents and even read stories where writers make the personality of a character so OOC that it doesn't even seem like the original character anymore. And this is something that I'd like to address to new writers as a HUGE no no. Most of your readers who are familiar with the characters will be turned off by your story if you continue writing them like this (once in a while is fine and that too don't overdo it). So what can you do to stop making this mistake?
Get to know your characters well. Whenever you are watching a show, focus on thier personality traits. If need be, you can even note it down. Do they swear alot? Are they shy? Are they outspoken? Are they aggressive? etc. You get the idea. Use those traits of theirs in your writing.
If two or more of your characters are starting to sound too much like each other in a story, try focusing on what makes them different from each other. Note down their names on top, make a line in the middle of your page (something like this: |) and then write their separate traits that you pick up on under each of their respective headings.
Character sheets are also a good way to help keep your characters in-character but I've never really tried those so I honestly don't know how effective they are.
Last but not least - try reading the stories that they are in as much as you can so that you can get a general idea of how to write them from others. Sometimes you just need a different perspective. This is especially easy in fanfics, where people are writing the same characters or pairing in HUNDREDS of different fics. Again, you will come across some fics that mischaracterize a character as well but those will be few and far in between when you consider a number in hundreds or thousands. Again because most good writers know what a turn-off mischaracterization is and generally steer clear of it.

“Not every part of the writing process has that joy in it. There’s days that that’s there, but there’s a lot of days it feels boring and not fun and not energizing.”

Pro tip for new writers: Whenever you get an idea for your writing, jot it down IMMEDIATELY. Use a notebook or your phone's note app to write it down right at that moment in a very rough manner. This way, if it is something that you want to add to your writing but you do not have the time at that moment, you will not forget what it was that you wanted to add. And sometimes you DO get really good ideas. No idea, good or bad, is worth letting it slip through your fingers.

꧁Introductions꧂
Hello and welcome to my blog! My main aim for starting this was to guide writers of all levels, but especially those who are new and struggling, or those who have already started but want to improve, through the world of writing!
Everyone can write. You don't need to have a degree, or require any kind of training, to write well. As long as you have the passion and motivation, you're already halfway there. You don't need to write anything specific either - the best writings are those that come from the core. When you write what you really want, you shine the best. So don't be afraid or hesitant to put whatever you are feeling or thinking on paper (or well, writing apps, these days). Just do it!
꧁My story꧂
I started my writing journey from fanfictions, in 2019. And let me tell you, I had no idea what I was doing at that time. I had just watched my first anime, established some favorite characters, made up a story about them, wrote it, then went to a fanfic site and posted it there - without any proper knowledge of writing structures whatsoever, a piddling vocabulary, and an embarrassing amount of confidence (for that time, at least). I thought I'd written something really amazing - and then a user came in to tell me that I should space things out, because it was more like a college essay than a story 😭 I was, quite predictably, shattered, and spent a good few hours sulking over their comment. But it was my first time posting a writing publicly, and my first exposure to criticism, and it is frankly what took me a long way later on.
(https://m.fanfiction.net/s/13483541/1/Soulmates. This is that fic - for if anyone was curious about it 👀)
꧁Final words꧂
The moral of this story is that everyone starts from somewhere. And that somewhere is not always a good place - infact, you very often have to make it. But you won't know till you take your first steps, and you won't be able to take your first steps till you actively try. So if you really want to write, don't let any force in the world stop you - that's the only way you will manage to reach the stars one day (figuratively, of course. But just imagine if we could do it literally too...)
My asks are always open, so feel free to ask me anything regarding writing, and I'll try to get back to you ASAP. Good luck and happy writing!

My number one tip for aspiring writers would be:
Write what you want. Do not keep it inside and do not give a crap about what other people would think of it. Thier opinion doesn't matter because they are not the one doing the writing. You are. And don't ever think of your writing as bad. I've heard so many people say "Oh I want to write but I'm not good at it." It doesn't matter if you are not, absolutely no one is at the start. But the more you write, the better you will get at it. Practice makes perfect. Also, read. Like alot. That will really help you in building your vocabulary, expanding your imagination and in giving you a general idea of what writing is. Read whatever you like, be they books or fanfics or even newspapers. Just do it. If you want to adopt a writing style that focuses more on storytelling though, then consume as much fantasy and fiction material as you can ✨
And let me tell you that almost my entire childhood revolved around fiction books, story books and fantasy books. Enid Blyton was especially my go-to. No wonder I turned out to be a fanfic writer 😂😂

A little about myself: My journey as a fanfiction writer started around three or four years back. My first ever anime that I wrote fanfics for was Death Note 😂 I will share my entire journey of writing, from my latest fic to my first one right here on this account at some time as well. Before that, I used to excel at Creative writing in school. My English teacher was super supportive and she always encouraged me to read my writing in front of the class. I have her to thank for my good writing skills today. She was the best teacher that one could have asked for ❤️

Hello! So I might be kind of new here, but I want to start my very own Tumblr account where I can guide aspiring writers with the tips that I've learned over the years while writing. Of course, I'm still learning something new everyday as well so let's help each other out!
