Here’s a FACT about what has happened over at Hellenion. An impartial member of the Boule (the advisory board) was supposed to conduct an investigation into the current events. And they were denied the documentation they needed to make an accurate assessment while being harassed relentlessly until they were forced to resign. That is a fact and the most disappointing thing that’s come of this situation for me.

I had hoped with the promise of an investigation, some sort of procedure could be followed and an official end brought to this whole thing regardless of the outcome. I had written up nearly eight pages of a witness statement to aid in this but the investigation didn’t even get off the ground and so those statements never made it into the hands of the investigator.

Hellenion isn’t worth it so long as the current leadership is in place.

edit: also excuse any post where I emphasize when something is a fact as legal action was insinuated at me for like a week.

While I’m not able to say anything specific due to legality concerns, I am going to say this because it is only an expression of my opinion.

I do not believe Hellenion to be a trustworthy organization anymore. I spent three years working with and defending them but a situation has arisen and I no longer support them.

Again, this is not slander, this is me stating my opinion. I no longer have a good one of them.

Now that several of my former fellow members of the board of directors of Hellenion have decided to step down in support of my own resignation, I feel comfortable in informing people that I was the mod of the official Hellenion tumblr.

In my resignation I stated that I would not be going on a campaign against the organization and this is not to be taken as such. Nor is it to be taken as slander, mostly because it is the truth.

I want to make one thing clear about why I left - although there were multiple factors - because I think it’s best for people to know for their own safety. One of Hellenion’s biggest draws for members is their education programs. I recently attempted to enroll in their clergy ed program after working with the organization in various positions for three years, including being the Secretary.

I want people to know that if the education programs are the reason you intend to join Hellenion and you are at all mentally ill or neurodivergent, it is my suggestion that you either do not join or that you do not let them know that you are. They will discuss it as part of the decision on whether or not to let you take the clergy ed course.

This was one of the main reasons I left. I do not abide ableism and I will not stay somewhere where I am not seen as an equal due to my mental health. I will say that most of the board called the ableism out (and have now resigned) but the people with the most power were the ones who perpetrated it. So, I did not feel comfortable enough to stay.

I only make this public to protect others because no one should be made to feel this way.

As short as my stint was, I will no longer be running the Hellenion tumblr as of this post due to my resigning from all positions. I just wanted it made clear that if they decide to assign someone else to this social media, it will be a different person.

It is possible, however, that no one will take over.
