My favorite things from episode 3x02 …in no particular order:

- TK speaking Hebrew… he went to Hebrew school… I love everything about Jewish TK.

- Paul. motherFUCKING. Strickland. Being a damn hero and keeping Lindsey safe even when it made him colder, but also trying to keep her spirits up. Fireball. I can’t.

- Judd & Grace are the ultimate adorable couple and I dare you to prove me otherwise. He brought her tea. She already had tea but it wasn’t the right tea so he made a whole ass firetruck bring her the right tea. Gold star, indeed.

- The way Nancy told Carlos that TK wanted him there because she knows he does even though he can’t say that.

- The way Carlos came, even though it was with sighs and smart remarks, because of course he’s going to show up - TK asked for him and he’s been hurt. 

- Mateo (who IS bright FUCK YOU Captain Whatever-the-fuck) staying with his true family (and some extras) to save Paul.

AO3 won the 2019 Hugo Award for Best Related Work!

Here’s the speech given by Naomi Novik when the award was accepted:

All fanwork, from fanfic to vids to fanart to podfic, centers the idea that art happens not in isolation but in community. And that is true of the AO3 itself. We’re up here accepting, but only on behalf of literally thousands of volunteers and millions of users, all of whom have come together and built this thriving home for fandom, a nonprofit and non-commercial community space built entirely by volunteer labor and user donations, on the principle that we needed a place of our own that was not out to exploit its users but to serve them.

Even if I listed every founder, every builder, every tireless support staff member and translator and tag wrangler, if I named every last donor, all our hard work and contributions would mean nothing without the work of the fan creators who share their work freely with other fans, and the fans who read their stories and view their art and comment and share bookmarks and give kudos to encourage them and nourish the community in their turn.

This Hugo will be joining the traveling exhibition that goes to each Worldcon, because it belongs to all of us. I would like to ask that we raise the lights and for all of you who feel a part of our community stand up for a moment and share in this with us.

They couldn’t sever the bond between Clary and Jonathan so Jace had to make the hardest decision of his life. His love or the world?  It feels like he lost them both.

They tried everything to get her back but Jonathan’s control over her was too strong.  There was only one way to save the world. And it meant losing everything.

She looked beautiful in that last moment when all his influence was burned away and all that remained was the woman he loved.  Clary gave him a nod, permission to finish what they’d started and then she was gone. They’d saved the world from Jonathan but at what cost?

What good was a world without Clary in it?

She had no one left to speak for her.  Her mother, gone. Her father, gone. Her brother, gone.  All the family she had in the world died within the last few months.  And Clary along with them. So when Alec presided over the rites for those they’d lost in the final battle, it was on Jace to say her name to the assembled crowd.  

He made it through, somehow, though the ice in his heart remained firm.  Jace felt nothing only the emptiness of a world without Clary, a world where he would need to live with the fact that he killed her by eliminating Jonathan.  She was gone because, in the end, he chose the world over her.
