Raine smiled, twirling her fingers through Alcina's raven locks, now down past her shoulders, the curls fading out to gentle waves against her skin.

"I thought you might."

Alcina chuckled, leaning back against Raine as she held their newborn in her arms, cradling the infant boy against her chest, his tiny face peaceful as he slumbered in her arms.

Raine smiled as she draped her arms over Alcina's shoulders, holding her against her chest as she pressed her cheek to Alcina's temple, the two of them enjoying a rare, quiet moment on the estate, the sunset drifting steadily toward the horizon.

"I'm glad, you know... That we found each other."

Alcina hummed, her thumb gently brushing over their son's arm, their little Lucian shifting slightly before getting comfortable once more.

"And that, even when things were hard... And, yes, even when I was an absolute bitch to you... You stayed."

Raine chuckled at that, pressing a kiss to Alcina's cheek before placing her hand over her wife's on their son's arm.

"I think I was always meant to stay, Alci... That we were always meant to be."

Raine smiled, her voice soft as she looked into Alcina's eyes, reaching up with her free hand to tuck a stray lock of hair back behind her wife's ear.

"Fate may not have been kind to either of us at first, but... We're here now, and we have our sweet boy to show for it. And the girls, of course."

Raine amended with a chuckle, looking up as said girls approached from their cars, wide smiles on their faces. It was the first time they had all been able to come home since Lucian had been born, and they were ecstatic to see him in person for the first time.

They had all been on FaceTime to see their brother after his birth, but Alcina had nearly demanded they come home as soon as they could to meet the newest member of their family. And they didn't disappoint their mother.

"Hand him over."

Bela grinned, holding her arms out to accept Lucian from Alcina, who chuckled as she gently handed Lucian over to his sister, her hand gently cradling the back of his head as Bela got him situated in her arms.

"Oh, mother... He's so cute!"

Daniela gushed, clasping her hands together as she looked down at their brother, a bright smile on her face.

"We're holding him hostage now. Go do wife things."

Cassandra teased, leading her sisters into the estate with a grin, closing the door behind them, leaving Raine and Alcina alone on the porch.

Raine chuckled and Alcina sighed, both of them finding it endearing how quickly the girls had swooped in and taken their brother without a second thought. Raine leaned her head back on Alcina's shoulder, holding her wife close once more, before pressing a kiss to the side of her neck.

"Careful there, draga... I might find that kiss to be an invitation."

Alcina hummed, bringing her hand up to cradle the back of Raine's neck, holding her wife in place as Raine pressed another kiss to the side of her neck, right over her pulse.

"Maybe it is an invitation, love... Or maybe I just want to be affectionate with my gorgeous wife in the presence of this beautiful, July sunset."

Raine chuckled, wrapping her arms around Alcina's midsection, nuzzling her nose against Alcina's jaw.

"Gods help me when it comes to you."

Alcina chuckled, turning her head just enough to capture Raine's lips in a tender kiss, just as the sun descended beneath the horizon, a green flash sparking over them before night began to fall.
