What power.
Blue eyes widen as soon as she turned to face who she was speaking to. Such power this boy held. No human can hold such, unless they were a powerful mage. However this boy didn't appear to be as such, he looked rather normal except for what was lingering.
What could this boy have?
As long as it does not harm mortals, she could be at peace at the very least. However... something about this boy didn't sit too well for her. As her job as a Valkyrie, it was her right to judge the life of those who's life were slipping away. For now, she'll let this slide until something were to come up and she wouldn't dare to hesitate if it were to protect mortals.
"Not exactly. I thought for a moment you seemed rather troubled, but it was my imagination."
Jun had been going home after a long day of school, wishing nothing more but to enjoy his time alone. While he didn’t dislike classes, particularly the math and physics ones as he was fascinated by those subjects, wanting to become a teacher in the future, being surrounded by many people wasn’t something he particularly enjoyed, especially the loud chatter that was just getting on his nerves. Upon leaving Kasugayama High, he had pondered whether to go to the flower shop but, too tired, he decided not to take a detour and walk straight home.
However, as the raven haired boy arrived near the residential block, his persona was able to feel a strange presence though it was neither a dangerous one that would have frightened Chronos nor was it a familiar one belonging to another persona user living in this city, taking him aback. As he turned his head in the direction of the aura, he saw an unfamiliar woman. While her clothes seemed of another era, he didn’t find them particularly abnormal, what particularly caught his eyes being her beautiful long platinum hair, thing Jun had yet to see even though he might not have been so surprised considering he had a friend with dyed cobalt blue hair.

"Hello. No, not really. Does it look like it?" Mahogany eyes widened a bit upon hearing the unexpected inquiry, not quite sure how she could have reached this conclusion, also surprised to see that she had been heading his way to instigate a discussion.

The god-like being descended upon this world quite some time now, but in a guise of a normal mortal woman. She would be easily mistaken as any other woman, but like a Valkyrie she still continued to search for souls worthy to help the gods in Ragnarok.
As the woman continued to roam around, she stopped and turn around as she noticed someone out of the ordinary and this someone had a rather odd presence about them. It wasn't human at all.
"Greetings, is something wrong?"

The sound of metal slicing the air, and against something blunt could be echoed in the ruin where the undead roam the halls. The feeling of malice etched itself in the ruins itself. The Battle Maiden could sense a greater evil in the depths.
What could be lurking these depths?
Whatever it is, it must be stop! Lenneth knew she must rid this evil before it could harm a human or worse. Ridding the presence of undead, or a malicious presence such as this was a job that fell on her.
One slash, after another, the undead finally was slain by the Battle Maiden's sword. It was a easy win, but the young woman knew what she would face once she venture deeper into these ruins. The Valkyrie was prepared for such.
Clap.
The sound of footsteps clapping against the cobblestone floor alerted the Battle Maiden as she pivoted her footing and aimed her blade at whoever was coming by. Once her eyes meet the one who alerted her, the Valkyrie lowered her weapon, but kept the same stern look on her face.
"Why are you here?"

This human...
There was some questions that were forming in her mind. What was this female who was standing in front of her? And what was this power they were possessing?
The Valkyrie knew humans are capable to use magic, but this one was quite different.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but do you have any idea where I am?"

How very interesting. During a random run to get more supplies for the inn, Manna had been sidetracked by an unusual energy. Manna wasn’t really sure what it was, actually. But it beat having to deal with drunk idiots that had nothing better to do than either get drunk off their asses, or hit on her or the other female employees.
Out of random curiosity more than anything, Manna decided to go check out what she was currently sensing. She thought it reminded her of something familiar. She wasn’t sure though. She finally got to the source of it, and paused. There was a woman there and she looked… fairly normal.
Manna smiled back and placed her hands behind her back. “Hello to you as well, Miss.”

This one... there was something very strange about this human. It was as if something else was lingering in him. What could it be? It was nothing that she had ever sense, but... possession? No, it wasn't that.
So what was it?
The Valkyrie was full of question, wondering what this human could even possessed. However there was one thing that could ease her mind and that was she could sense nothing of malice from this young man.
"May I ask who are you?"

Of all the rotten luck..
Here he was, faced with a woman who reminded him of Lisa. Tatsuya put his hand in his pocket, fingers touching the lighter held within the confines of it. He had nothing against Lisa, it was just that he scared the shit out of him.
But, upon hearing her voice, he eased up just a little. She was different.. good. He didn’t need a confrontation with Lisa, not now. Attempting a smile, Tatsuya nodded.
"Good afternoon." He said, keeping a polite tone to his voice.

How very odd... there was something very odd the Valkyrie could sense from this person. None of it was something a normal human could possessed. Yet she didn't sense hostility from them.
Anyway at least she was in something normal, not in her armor. There was no need to reveal herself right now.
"Greetings." She greeted with a smile on her face.

"Am I?"
Was she really too calm? The Valkyrie herself tend to act as such whenever she was in her human guise whenever she needed to mingle with humans and mortals alike. Yet this one seemed to have a keen eye, noticing that she really was calm in this kind of environment.
Though hearing what they are-- or something that she thought they were like in the land of Midgard. It was a surprise to know that there was another branch of ocean dwellers, but not too surprising. After all she had seen quite a bit to not faze the god-like being.
"I see... I really never heard of such before."
The Battle Maiden sense fortesinfide's presence.

"You seem to be taking this quite calmly, Miss Lenneth."
There’s no hint of suspicion in the young guard’s eyes, but they are quite…calculating. They’re searching for any possible slip ups, any hints that could give way to just who exactly this woman might be. She’s quite mysterious, with that silvery hair of hers and the strangely enchanting aura that shrouds her.
"Mermaids…?
A soft chuckle leaves the woman’s lips, before it is quickly stifled by her hand.
"Forgive me—I meant no offense. It’s…simply something I’ve grown accustomed to hearing. Yes, I suppose you could call us mermaids with legs.”

"Indeed you are correct."
The woman was correct about Valkyries appearing to those who are on the edge of death, or already has passed on, but still hold onto to the living. Those who linger on life must move on or else there would be trouble awaiting for them.
Lenneth may not understood exactly why some continued to hold onto their precious life, but it was human nature for one to do so. Yet this woman... she could tell she was still holding onto life, unable to let go of something.
What is it that she still continued to hold on?
Humans are indeed mysterious creatures. Even for a Valkyrie such as herself, who judges those before she can choose who is worthy enough to enter Valhalla... still remained a mystery.
"You still hold onto feelings of the livings, unable to move on like any other. So why is it that you still lingered onto life?"
the-chooser-of-the-slain started following you
In her final moments of life, Claves had reflected, recounting how so much of her life had been nothing more than an illusion, lies. She had been so frightened that because of the lie of a life she had lived, she be left to wander in a void for all time… instead finding herself in that…prison…
She watched the woman carefully as her own hand slowly traveled towards the hilt of her blade, lingering there, and even trembling for a moment before speaking. “If I may…” She began, her voice holding hints of…fear? “Why are you standing before me…? I always believed Valkyrie’s to appear to those who are about to…die…” she had swallowed before finishing her sentence, the word too heavy a burden to be said so casually.

"As I expected both are indeed different, and are nothing alike." Lenneth was very sure of herself that they really weren't alike in any ways or form. Perhaps this is why she could sense something very odd about this world.

"I see. When you put it that way, I can’t say that Spirits and souls are quite the same, though some Spirits have been known to inhabit objects and living beings from time to time."

"Spirits are beings normally invisible to humans, but they are always around us. They allow other living beings to use a variety of artes in exchange for the mana produced by a mana lobe as a food source - for Spirits and humans especially, it is a very optimized form of coexistence."

"Indeed I am the one who chooses fate."
The Valkyrie had told this countless times to many who's fate was soon-to-be sealed. It was like a poetic death for many who had encounter the Chooser of the Slains in a battlefield or in places that one would not expect to see the woman.
Strange places, but all resulted in the same result for the Valkyrie. Choose a worthy soul to become a einherjar.
"So what are you? You are not a human, but you possessed a soul of one."

How odd. Airey had a feeling she knew who, no more like what, this lady really was. She didn’t want to just come out and say it though. As much as she hated to admit it, traveling had made her very cautious, and giving out her personal information to someone she didn’t know might cause her trouble later on, especially now that she knew that there actually were people hunting her down from her world.
This lady was the chooser of the slain, after all. Fractured memories of a life before this one… Airey shook her head. Better get back to the conversation at hand. “You are a Valkyrie?” Airey asked cautiously. She had a feeling this was what this lady was. Norse legends spoke of these beings. Did Airey somehow wander onto a battlefield?

"Do not be alarm." The Valkyrie told the girl as she noticed her hand gasping at the hilt of her sword. The woman really did not mean any harm, only those that had defiled souls or the undead would she then cause harm.
"I do not exactly know what Spirits are exactly. If a Spirit is what lies in a vessel as souls do, then they are considered the same. And if not, then they are not."

Milla took a step back from surprise, hand instinctively grasping at the hilt of her sword as wings enveloped the woman. Now this was something the Spirit Lord had never seen in all her time observing Rieze Maxia.

"A Valkyrie…? What do you mean by choosing souls? Are they similar to Spirits?"

"I am neither of the two."
An angel is not what she was nor was she a spirit. Both were way off from what a Valkyrie was. It was strange to hear this "child" did not have any sort of knowledge, let alone recognize what she was. The mortals and other beings alike all knew what the legends who would come to the battlefield and look for a worthy soul to fight in Valhalla.
But this one did not know such a thing? How peculiar.
"I am the chooser of the souls, a Valkyrie."

What had Airey found herself involved in this time? This lady appeared out of nowhere and started asking her what she was. That had to be record timing. Airey could sense the divine aura coming from this woman, whoever she was. Was she a goddess? Some sort of spirit or angel? She could tell what Airey was.
Airey tilted her head to the side. “Why are you asking me such things Miss? I could ask the same of you. You are not human, your aura is divine. Are you an angel or a spirit?”

So... this woman is like Odin. A god from what it seems.
And considering how this Spirit had caught onto Lenneth, it seems there was no use in hiding what she is now. White feathery wings as if glowing surrounded the Valkyrie before unveiling her. Once was clothes that appeared to be that of a noble, now replaced with armor.

"I am the one who chooses souls. A Valkyrie."

She’s not human, but she can’t be a Spirit, either. So what could this mean?

"Where I come from, there are very few who can truly say they are unaware of the entity known as Maxwell; you could say that I was the one who created that very world. So if I may ask again, who or what are you?”

"I must admit, I do not know who Maxwell is. However in a way you are not far from your presumption."

"Indeed, it is just as you say. I am the incarnation of Maxwell, Lord of all Spirits. Though, at present, I have taken on the form of a human body for my mission. Can I presume it is the same for you?"

"You are correct."
It was no surprise people would have called out to her right away nor was it a surprise for the Valkyrie to be recognized so fast. Countless lives she had sent to Valhalla or other times, Niflheim. The Battle Maiden made no other reaction, she only had a calm, but stern look on her face as she looked at the woman.

Violet eyes grew wide as Claves gazed upon this strange individual before her. After fighting her way and clawing her soul back together, never did she expect to meet such an individual. She recalled stories of mighty warrior’s who would claim the souls of the honored dead, and there was no mistaking that this woman was one of those very warrior’s.
In a voice barely above a whisper, Claves spoke, “Valkyrie…”

The Valkyrie sense dark-manifestation-in-disguise's presence
The Battle Maiden silently stared at the brunet, displeased by who he is. She was mostly looking at the past actions this "boy" had done. All of the countless slaughter just to feed himself did not settle well for the Valkyrie.
But... Lenneth could tell things had changed for the being, yet... she still wasn't too fond of the boy's past actions.
