Final Week
The week of my final presentation, I set my goal as the idea I mentioned- a transformative animation that sets the precedent that architectural space is important and should be recognized. For my plans into the next semester, I want to begin 3D modeling of my scene and start composing my ideas. This will be the start of executing my work for presentation at the MANA Contemporary.
Research Process:
Risk: 3 I take moderate risk as, although i have some experience with the software necessary to make my project, I haven't revisited them in a while
Point of View: 3 My POV is strong and makes a clear statement on what I want to accomplish
Research Synthesis: 2 I researched a moderate amount this semester, as well as taking in feedback from many of my peers and professors
Presentation: 1 I did not present on the day of presentation however had my idea known to my peers
Final Reflection:
This week I contemplated many things. I had to understand a lot this semester. Not only did I fall towards the end, but somehow I found the strength to pick myself up. People are counting on me to succeed. This life is hard and I have a high bar to meet. I know it seems at times I may be lazy and irresponsible. I do my best. It not only hurts me to say this, but I wish it could be different. Life always fights you, and you have to fight back.

Weeks 10-11
This week I focused on sketching my ideas. I took time to envision what my prototyping could look like. I started to look into plans for Cinema4D, which is the program I want to use in conjunction with Adobe Creative Cloud. I want to capture the scene first on paper before I decide how I want to portray it. I figure a street corner of a location not too far from my apartment, where I can use as a baseline. This would be the opening to the animation, where the camera will pan into the wall showing the interior. Then, after the interior is introduced, it will begin to change with certain furniture, walls, and decor involved in the space transforming into new objects.

Week 8
This week I decided on a project idea and started small sketches of how I envision it. I want to do short animation where the space of a building can change one's perspective when it changes itself. The piece will be a transformative one, where the scene shifts in various elements. I have not decided on how I want the scene to start out as, but I know it will be starkly different from the end, which will depict aspects of art deco and art nouveau. I want the end result to be exaggerated to make a point about architectural shift and how important detail is in space.
Week 1 Research Grade Report
Research- 2 I didn't research much for this week. Instead I focused on a prototype for an idea.
Research Description- 3 I feel confident in what I want to do and how I can deliver it
Research Documentation- 2 I did not complete any documentation regarding the execution rather the process of what I want to do
Research Reflection- 2 i feel what I want to do is definitely in the realm of possibility and am hopeful in my decision making for my work.

Week 7
This week I focused on executing designs of both art nouveau and art deco as a study. I found the significance in structure that makes the use of stylizations. For example, the Nebraska State Capitol building uses art deco as a sign of power and sophistication. The style implies a sense of governance. It's reminiscent of greco-roman art as many U.S. federal buildings use this stylization in architecture.
Week 7 Research Grade Report
Research- 3 I conducted more online research regarding my study and tried to find new ways of identifying purpose in architecture
Research Description- 3 I conveyed what I found interesting about my research and what I want to explore
Research Documentation-2 I did more reading than note taking or creating this week
Research Reflection- 2 I feel my performance was not the standard but still unlocks new ways of thought than I had previously

Midterm
This week was about presenting my ideas on my project and which direction I'd like to take it in. I had feedback from both my peers and superiors. My short presentation consisted of research based on designing architecture in spaces where it could be more noticeable than usual.
I discussed my POVs as a means to explore them. As I am unsure of the direction I want to move in, I wanted my POVs to be indicative of my intention over all behind my project ideas.
Midterm Critique Grade Report
Slide 1: Topic and Motivation: 3 I feel I delivered my project idea as an introduction in a professional and brief form. I noted my initial inspirations and ideas regarding execution
Slide 2: Research and Connection: 3 I presented a couple photos of the research I conducted as well as the artworks of others
Slide 3: POV and Surface Ideas: 3 I used my surface ideas as a levy to lean on as to get as much feedback as possible from my audience
Presentation and Time Management: 4 I was concise and accurate in describing my ideas and managed my time accordingly to that of others' presentations

Week 4
This week was a major feedback week. I discussed my Point of View ideas to attempt a direction to follow with my process. I talked about construction, mainly in the Hoboken-Jersey City area, and how impeding it is on the public. The point I wanted to flesh out is, "What is the function of construction?" I feel it's a vague, yet pressing question, especially when taken into the economic lenses. There were three main points throughout discussion that I feel are most noteworthy of mentioning to work on:
The liberty of creating to send a message instead of fixing something. A major point of construction in maintenance, often with roadwork and building renovations. These are the most common city wide construction cites, as they represent the need of sustainability of the city itself. I think a useful point of this is to know I am not sole curator of the mess that happens in the city pipelines and weathering buildings. I feel it is necessary to remind myself the point of this entire project is to make, not fix something.
Content and what medium to use. I was suggested to find a physical representation of my ideas- something I can begin to manifest. I think a great opportunity for me would be to use cardboard to sculpt something- specifically the front sides of buildings, and/or street corners. These are places people are constantly exposed to and I think it's an idea to start maybe prototyping.
So far for others' feedback, I had a ton of post-its from many of my classmates, as well as my Professor. I think the next step now is to execute some form of work.

Week 4 Research Grade Report
Research- 3 I seldom researched more about my ideas, specifically aspects of architecture that go beyond style, like economics
Research Description- 4 I used post-its to examine my peers' thoughts and feedback for my ideas and how I may take an approach for prototyping
Research Documentation- 4 I was resourceful and careful in labeling my ideas and the thoughts of others so I can find new avenues for my prototyping.
Research Reflection- 3 I think I was honest and true to my interest this week and was able to convey how I wanted to move forward

Week 3
This week I focused on research. I did some Google Scholar searches to first find some new ideas regarding futurism. The reason I'm so invested in it is because modernization and technology, as I observe, seems to lean towards this glass-like and reflective structure that blends into the skyline. In my research, I read one particular article that I felt resonated with me the most. It describes the globalization effect of this style of building, as it has become a staple of the current civilized world.
I asked some friends and peers what they thought about architecture outside of class too. Some had mentioned that the turn from older-style buildings makes the environment more safe and sustainable. One person I asked said they "wish that buildings now weren't so boring. It's like they keep the same payrate for their designers." I think artistic liberty is a topic of choice when I think about architecture, as I do believe in the pragmatic side of my ideas, but I want to create with style and not just functionality.
Week 3 Research Grade Report
Research- 4 I not only researched some online via google scholar, but also sought out feedback from my peers and superiors.
Research Description- 4 I found increasing information regarding the idea of futurism and how it impacts the larger globalization happening in current society
Research Documentation- 3 I took note of links I read and extracted the ideas from multiple articles to support my ideas
Research Reflection- 3 I used my insight into futurism to identify what it is about architecture I find intriguing

Week 2
This week, I discussed my ideas with my classmates and they did as well. In an attempt to flesh out more about what I was interested in, i was presented with various ideas about futurism and how it's impact on world culture is a prominent feature about its style of architecture. This was an idea I hadn't explored much before, and I also received feedback on completing a bit more reseach regarding architecture and its forms. I took note on post-its of some one-word idea / phrases of ideas that helped shape the way I think about the other 2 ideas- Futurism and Decoration. These two seemed to compliment my central point of architecture as it opened my eyes more to what I want to get out of my research. I want to find a purpose to my work, and what I am going to create. I think by fleshing these ideas out, it's much easier to figure out a form.

Week 2 Research Grade Report
Research- 3 This week I explored my idea through a deeper lens by finding small descriptives I otherwise did not think about previously, like how industrialization can affect the use of building space.
Research Description- 3 I not only used my own ideas but that of architectural space through historical research.
Research Documentation- 4 I wrote these ideas on post-its and stuck them to the boards I made last week.
Research Reflection- 3 I feel my work was proper and successful in fleshing out introductory ideas.

Week 1
This week in class, I discussed my two main ideas I wanted to focus on from brief thinking over the summer. These topics embody some similarities as they all fall on a certain parallel with the forefront of my ideas- the most significant being Architecture. Although I find it difficult to discuss my influence, the digital rendering and modeling of architecture is what I am most interested in. I enjoy the work, however in these early stages I want to explore nuanced avenues otherwise not previously considered. The other main idea I shared was my thoughts on technique. This is more of a personal challenge for me as I want to expand my knowledge of different software like Blender, as I feel decently comfortable with Cinema4D. This is obviously a technical skill that will only broaden my options for new work. i linked together the things I believe are first thought of about architecture as well as objects / concepts that are heavily influenced by it. We each did our own mind maps in class, but this one is what I came up with for my purposes for describing architecture.

Week 1 Research Grade Report
Research- N/A This week was more focusing on my own thoughts and interpretations of the themes I wanted to explore surrounding architecture.
Research Description- N/A I identified many surface ideas for which I want to take my project in.
Research Documentation- 3 I regard my own documentation here powerful and resourceful.
Research Reflection- 3 I used my surface ideas further for more idea improvement.
