Just curious, do you not believe that being transgender is possible for certain people? And do you believe that you understand what “ being transgender” means? I have found that lots of people don’t understand what ““being transgender” actually means for a person. And the resulting misunderstanding creates the basis for heated and disrespectful verbal exchanges going both ways which are regrettable in that only mistrust and ignorance remain at the end.

Speak to detransitioned people. Look up horror stories of what they had to go through, and still continue to go through now that they’ve detransitioned and are working through their dysphoria while you monsters constantly attack them and silence them and brush them under the rug. Imagine that you want to participate in a bread baking competition. All you need is a bit of flour from your neighbor, which they happily give to you. You do the work of creating the sourdough starter, then measuring, mixing, kneading, proofing, scoring, and baking. When you win the competition, your neighbor is furious you don’t give him half of your winnings. While it’s true you couldn’t have created the bread without the flour, you certainly didn’t need to get it from him, and you definitely did all the work after that.

That’s how ridiculous you sound when you say men and women have equal roles in reproduction.

It’s not that men aren’t allowed to express their emotions–if they weren’t, kavanaugh would not have been confirmed after throwing a temper tantrum on national television 

it’s that men are not taught nor expected to do nearly the same amount of emotional labor women are–whether that means working through their own emotions or considering the emotions of others

and it’s not that women are “allowed” to be more emotional than men. certainly, they aren’t seen as weak for crying or being vulnerable, but the second their emotions inconvenience someone, they’re labeled hysterical, difficult, crazy…

and because women are held to a much higher standard of emotional intelligence, they form support networks and learn to handle their emotions. meanwhile, by avoiding the exchange of emotional labor entirely, men neither find support nor support others, forming few meaningful connections and developing little emotional maturity

it isn’t until a man enters a romantic relationship with a woman that he unloads his baggage on the one person designated to put up with it. and when that woman expects any emotional labor in return? she becomes the first person who has ever asked it of him, and thus the most “emotional” person he has ever met, the crazy ex-girlfriend, the hysterical wife. this asymmetrical exchange–her unending emotional labor for nothing in return–seems perfectly fair to a man raised to believe he owes no woman the same consideration she owes him
