Today is a terrible day to be out on a motorcycle....

But I was on a mission.

Lien-da awakes, once again. Stupor harbors her face as she does her best to filter out the rising sun's glow off her face with her hand, the other looking for something to hold onto. Calmess inhabit the place as she makes out exactly what she was doing the night before.

Ah yes, her office. Filling papers (or at least looking like it), all while slipping a drink or two (or ten) to keep herself going. With predictable results, her desk is a mess, papers and what appears to be the empty remains of a bottle definitively older than her (The content of which she remembers disliking, only to commit and drink it all down either way) strewn about with little regard.

Cleaning this up would be a nightmare.

Good thing she could delegate.

"Why yes, I came." Replied a non plussed Lien-da as she pocketed her ring, leaving it to recharge on the chaos energy permeating the island. "I couldn't just leave you -and my ring- to fend for yourself!" And get a nostalgic glance at the island floating once more among the skies. A bittersweet sight whose influence she had a hard time concealing as she spoke, perhaps fooling the youngling, but not the newcomer.

Shade.

A shudder, quickly repressed, but as not as fast as she'd have liked. Eyes staring deeper than she means, betraying a familiarity she knew Shade, this Shade, did not share. Shade the nocturnus warrior. Immortal.

Dangerous.

Through efforts unheard off since her younger years, Lien-da manages to push away enough of her latent terror and hatred toward the nocturnus not to pounce and land the first blow.

"To be fair, I couldn't be sure of it myself." Is all she can muster, other than a curt greeting to the (hopefully) former warrior.

Home.

This was the Angel Island Kaz knew. Full of life and laced with the familiar energy of the Master Emerald. The sun was lower than it was before he had went off on his exploration adventure. Low enough that he wondered if his family was worried about him. It caused him to glance back to see if the ring was still open, instead spotting Lien-da.

"Oh... you came?" Was she making sure he got through safely? Or maybe she was curious about the teen who apparently didn't know anything as much as he liked to think he did. He didn't get a chance to ask when when he suddenly felt someone land beside him. "Oh, Auntie."

"I was just about to go looking for you for dinner." replied the echidna, although her gaze wasn't on him. He followed it to behind him. Of course Shade had noticed the new face. Even now Kaz could tell she was on guard. "Who-"

"A new friend." Kaz said, instantly grabbing onto Shade's arm. Mostly to stop her from deciding she needed to fight off their new guest. "Or relative? I don't know she speaks in riddles."
