Ghost would nod after a moment, happy that the stranger took the flower. They...didn’t really know what to do from her, but did realize they never gave their own name. So with their nail they would start drawing crooked lines in the sand until it appealed their name. ‘G h o s t’.
Afterwards they would put their nail on their back and head off in search of their friend. Offering a wave before they disappeared by turning back into a shadow. Hopefully next time they saw Edan they’d have quirrel in tow. Or at least a better way to communicate.
@nightmareprincegrimm
Ghost would be silently walking towards the water of the Blue Lake, a fragile flower in hand. It had been..some time since they last visited. The last place they saw their friend before he too withered away like everything else in this kingdom. Ghost hated to admit it, but they had been avoiding this place.
It hurt. Looking at where his nail lay, where he should have been sitting. Laughing and talking about the wonders of this corpse of a kingdom. The little traveler hoped he was finding some piece, where ever he was. Ghost never did see a spirit of Quirrel lingering though, so that gave him some hope.
Either way though, Ghost would stop as they reached the nail. The knight roll a seat at the edge of the water, just letting the water brush against their feet as they placed the fragile flower down where Quirrel once sat with them in this very spot.
Ghost hoped he was happy.

Ghost would nod their head at the fragile comment, the flower broke so easily. How such a thing could grow anywhere they did not understand, though it oddly reminded the knight of themself. They would hold the flower out for a few more seconds before gently judging Edan.
“Want?” Ghost..would try and find Quirrel. If they were still alive somewhere. If not they’d come back and lay some more flowers to rest here...but the vessel wanted to cling to what little hope they had of their friend behind alive.

Home...where did Quirrel consider home? The main thought was the archives but...why would Quirrel choose to stay there, with the memory of a corpse? Still...if this bug though that Quirrel went somewhere it might be worth checking out. Though Ghost new the chances of finding their friend again was slim. Assuming this bug was honest, and that Quirrel didn’t make any drastica decisions along the way.
Ghost would take a moment to sit by the nail now. It was unlike Quirrel to leave their nail behind too. It’s why they had assumed the worst. Not like ghost knew the pill bug that well though. Downfalls of not being able to talk or communicate.
The little vessel would hold up the flower now, silently debating whether to leave it here or bring it with Incase their friend was, somehow, still alive somewhere...or maybe they could give it to this new bug? The knight would hold it up to Edan after a moment.

Ghost..paused a little. Blue fella...? Quirrel was blue. They glanced back to the monument automatically. Todo had been blue too...but ghost has found their body already. Another grave to make and visit, it seemed.
Ghost would point to the nail and gently glowing fragile flower, not signing anything afterwards. They hoped it would be visible enough...ghost didn’t have the heart nor will to try and act out what they believe happened to quirrel. Not that they even know for sure what happened...

The vessel didn’t really have an answer, so they shrugged a bit. They just liked having names to put to faces, it’s the same reason they tried to memorize all the enemy and locations name. It was such a nice thing that people room for granted; having a name.
After a moment the bug would sign something.
“Curiosity? Don’t know..like names.”

Ghost seemed to finally realize the bug they were speaking with was blind...Well. That certainly would make this hard. Still, they knew what it was like to not be able to do something. They couldn’t talk much after all.
They would have to try and give more cues as to what they were asking. So they lightly poked Edan while tilting their head, as though asking a question. And again they signed ‘Who?’, hoping that this might get the message across.

It definitely would be...Ghost really had no other way of talking unless the creature was made from void or could see writing. So hopefully they could find a way to talk in between everything. Or else they may have to use the dream nail as a pseudo method. Reading thoughts would hopefully work.
Just as Edan asked, Ghost didn’t strike. They simply sat calmly by the edge of the water, watching the new hug with a mild fascination.

Ghost was staring down at the water, just waiting to see what Edan would do for now. They expected their nail to be away out the water, rather than anyone talking to them. Though that did confirm their theory that this new character was intelligent, and sentient.
Of course, Ghost couldn’t really talk. So they would attempt to sign again while tilting their head.
“You talk. Who?”

Ghost stares as they saw the vengefly suddenly be dragged into the water. After a moment of hesitation, they would touch their nail to the water. This creature was clearly intelligent, but the little vessel wanted to see just how intelligent. They were clearly a water predator though.
...and maybe what killed Quirrel. Though Ghost really did not want to think about that too much, so they opted to ignore that thought for the time being, though it did leave an anxious feeling in their chest.

“...?” Ghost waded a bit into the water as they saw Edan dive down. A part of them tempted to follow but..vessels don’t really sink, they float. So instead they slowly moved back to Quirrel’s grave, resting the shells around it quietly as they made sure nothing was damaged.

Ghost watched Edan carefully, following their blurry outline in the water. The little bug never attacked though, only watched. Even as Edan began trying to get behind them. Ghost never moved, simply turned their head to watch the diver.
Ghost had a bad feeling about this bug as well. The vessel wasn’t stupid, no matter how young and reckless they seemed. They learned how to recognize threats after all their travels. The vessel simply chose not to move and instead watch what was happening.

Ghost let out a small huff when the bug dove back down under water, wiping off their mask with the edge of the cloak. How rude. The little vessel would grab a shell after a moment and toss it into the water, directly where Edan used to be.
At least they knew who the culprit was now, but they weren’t too sure what to do with this information. So they would sit back by the water’s edge. This time with their nail should the bug try and drag them in again.

Ghost would see Edam coming up to grab them and quickly step back from the water’s edge, briefly turning into a shadow to put some more distance. The..vessel did not know how to react to the new bug. They didn’t understand why Edan suddenly tried to grab them.
“.....what?” Ghost would sign after a moment, staring blankly at Edan now.

Ghost would flinch a little when the shell suddenly hit their head, and they would stare at it somewhat blankly. After a moment they would toss it back out into the water, fully aware of the fact that there was some bug throwing these things that they couldn’t yet see. They would scoot a bit closer to the water now and watched to see where the shell would be coming from this time.

Upon hearing the clink of shell on a nail, Ghost’s eyes would snap open in mild panic. They had started to close their eyes a little as they got lost in thought, but that quickly snapped them out of it.
Ghost would glance to the shell with curiosity now. Picking it up now that nothing was particularly visible. And after a moment...they would throw it back. Was someone playing a game? They could do so away from the memorial!
Ghost now moved to sit a bit more protectively in front of the memorial for their friend. Lest the fragile flowers get injured and break. It was hard enough getting them here honestly.
