The Story of Jingle Squad...

The galaxy is a wide, cold space. And this does not change when it is at war with itself. The machines of war require transportation, and those capable of transporting them. Several squads of clones work tirelessly to move everything from weaponry to forbidden love letters from planet to planet. And one such squad is the famous Jingle Squad.

Because of their perceived inferiority to combat-focused divisions, courier services are often underfunded. Their weapons are outdated, their transport is second hand. And this is where Jingle Squad gained its name. As they are dashing through the low atmosphere of a planet, the body of their ancient LAAT creaks. Loose screws and metal panels shake about - like the scratched jingle of an old bell. Soon enough, this nickname was taken in stride, and Jingle Squad began to announce their arrival to weary troops by the ringing of a bell.

But while the bonds of the squad are hardier than their ship's hull, they weren’t always inseparable. Early in their conception, clone trooper Rudolph did not feel welcome in his own squad. As the youngest, his capability was constantly under question and was often picked on and undermined. However, after a daring rescue through a blinding blizzard, Rudolph’s courage and ingenuity was quickly solidified in the eyes of his team and Jedi General San-tah. Seeing Rudolph’s courage and capabilities, San quickly promoted him to Commander, and while Rudolph still experiences moments of self doubt, he has those around him to give him a hand when he’s feeling suffocated. 

This help most often comes around at the end of the standard year, when their usual cargo of rations and weapons becomes saturated with gifts and letters. Each member plays their part in getting deliveries to every corner of the galaxy, on time and with the iconic jingle of a bell.

Who’s that, approaching through the snow?

It’s Zero!

Created by @spacerocksarethebestrocks​, this little guy is the lovable, spiky companion of Jingle Squad. While he is unable to deliver gifts due to the lack of opposable thumbs, he is nevertheless a vital member of the team. Read more about him below the cut!

When Zero was only a few weeks old he was taken away from his mother by smugglers. Due to his unique colouration he would have fetched quite a price at market. However, before he could be sold he was rescued by Jedi Master San-Tah Kallos and his Padawan Learner, Eira Holly.

Though San had originally planned to find Zero a good home along with the other animals for sale they found, Eira bonded with the massiff pup, and he found he couldn't say no to either of their puppy eyes.

Though Zero's official role is as a Guard Animal for the Jingle Squad, and despite his treatment by the smugglers, he is incredibly friendly. Perhaps too friendly. Though he does bark when he is approached by a stranger, this is actually because he wants the stranger to pet him. Unfortunately for Zero, his unusually large size, deep booming bark and his blood red muzzle, means that quite often this sends people running. Thankfully the Jingle Squad all adore him, and he gets lots of pats from them. He is also not the brightest, and usually forgets being rejected fairly quickly.

Zero spends most of his time with Eira, his favourite, and he's very protective of her. However, San-Tah gives the best belly rubs, so he's a close second. Comet, as company medic, is also in charge of giving Zero his yearly shots. Zero is inconsolable for about a week, until he forgets about the whole thing, and then Comet is back to being bothered for belly rubs and snacks.

I'm a little confused, what exactly do you mean by gifts?

Hi anon! There is elaboration on what exactly a gift entails in our FAQ.

But essentially, it is a drawing of the selected character delivering the requester's gift! The gift itself can range from a generic present 🎁 or can be more specific, as long as it's within reason of course. Request cookies, a puppy, or just a simple bowl of soup and Jingle Squad will deliver it! There will be some examples of what these will look like posted tomorrow.

Jingle Squad is coming to town!

You can hear them by the distant rattle of their second hand LAAT/i. A squad of nine clones, their Jedi general and his young Padawan dash through space in their quest - get crucial deliveries to the planets that need them.

No time is busier for Jingle Squad than the end of the standard year. Running gifts up and down the hyperspace routes is their main task, and this year, they’re taking civilian requests.

Request a Gift from Jingle Squad!

For one week from today, you can request a gift from Jingle Squad! On Christmas Eve, your gift will be hand delivered to your inbox by one of our valiant couriers.

Either tag us in a post or send an ask with your request (remember to include your URL if requesting on anon). Select one member from the roster, or have one assigned at random! Specify what gift you��d like to receive, or take a chance on us! More details can be found in the FAQ.

Don’t delay! Each member has a limit of 5 requests, so if someone catches your eye, make sure you put in a request soon!

Requests are limited to 1 per person.

Requests close on December 19th. Unfortunately, no late requests will be accepted.
