Drop 001 — May 2025 Theme: What happens when you break from canon on day one?

Challenge #148 ✱ from Kendra Crispin

What if, instead of Kim and Torres, Janeway and Paris were taken by the Caretaker? Add a few other characters if you feel like it - adding a Maquis into the story might be a good idea.

Challenge #425 ✱ from Katgirl

Imagine the Chief Helms Officer (Lt. Stadi) did not die in "Caretaker," and Paris was offered another position. What position would it be and how would this difference affect the J/P relationship?

Challenge #2 ✱ from Sasscat Bu-to-y

Write an alternate "Caretaker" where Tom is Starfleet’s rising star and hotshot pilot, and Kat is the bitter ex-Starfleet, ex-Maquis con recruited from New Zealand. Work it how you like—my theory is that the timelines split at her encounter with the Cardassians. Have fun!

It’s a 'real' Starfleet shuttle route—"Jupiter to Saturn and back, once a day, every day." If you flew it long enough, you pulled Titan’s Turn: set a course directly for Titan, whip around the moon at .7c, and pray like hell no one saw you.

It’s reckless, off-book, and although we're stealing it from TNG, it's pure J/P to us. [Obligatory Nick Locarno Mention Here.]
