i do not think this little detail is a bit of the lore of the phantom dimension. the dimension is not sentient afaik. this is an artistical metaphorical detail included by the author (red) to express certain things to the reader.

if the curtains are blue, its because the author wants to express that the character is sad, and usually not meant to show that the character likes blue curtains specifically.

I HAVE A THEORY ABOUT THIS!!! (Credits to this person for pointing it out, their tiktok prompted me to talk about it lmao)

Aiden was THE ONLY ONE (besides the usual grey background characters) who showed up in the dream Ashlyn had before getting transferred to the Phantom Realm.

It could EITHER be a representation of how deep down Ashlyn has maybe already figured out by this point that Aiden fakes his emotions (even though perhaps she hasn't recognised that she's figured it out... if that makes sense?).

It could also be foreshadowing to how the PD has links to their mental state and to the fact that Aiden was affected by this link the most (like how they heal quicker if a injury affects them less mentally).

Maybe the PD knows about each members true mental health state (since they got pulled in) so when having PD related dreams it alters certain details based on what it believes to be true about the person, so for example the reason why Aidens eyes are scratched out is because Ashlyn can't see Aiden for who he truly is yet and the PD knows that so it's adjusted the detail to represent that fact. Or it could link to the saying "the eyes are the window to the soul". As we know theres the theory that their souls are walking about in the PD... so the reason they could be blocked is because Aiden is hiding what's truly going on with his mental health, which links to the soul.

Edit: I think it's also significant that Aiden was the one who convinced Ashlyn to go to Savannah, and is the one whose announcing to her that they're there...

ther is rumour of Tumblr shutting down like vey to year I think. It’s still recommended to backup your blog though, your blog might get shot down, you might delete your blog on a whim, and yeah, maybeee tumblr being shut down. genuinely. i felt SO WEIRD the first time i did it.. but like. holy shit authors love it. its crack for authors. the first time i did it, it was on a fic that hadnt updated in half a year, give or take, and the author made 3 updates that month BECAUSE OF MY COMMENT.

LIKE. as an author every comment is INCREDIBLE!!! but also, dont feel like your comment has to be short or otherwise ur invasive or smth!! authors ADORE long comments more than ANYTHING.
