<< Kitt lowers his head onto Raven's shoulder, perhaps if Kitt's mother could see him she'd be disappointed just as Jude said. As much as that stung the inner depths of the boys soul, but something about Raven made Kitt forget. >>

Ah, good day to you, Beckett! It's been quite some time since I've last seen you. I presume you've stayed out of trouble? It's quite a shock really! I thought you would've crashed into enough trees to leave you concussed. Not that I wish harm upon you; my hands are full enough as is.

Has anything interesting happened as of late? I've been dreadfully busy with both work and a minor spat with Jude. Things have been growing tense with our two chiefs. But honestly? I hold them with as much regard as a bug under my shoe.

“kitt, hm? what a coincidence, i was just talking about you” his voice was more mellow than usual, it gave a false sense of security, as if kitt were going to be spared from ainsworth’s usual means. but, that thought was thrown into the dirt as soon as it came to mind, for his front seemed to dissipate into the hot air into his typical attitude

“specifically speaking about how others should avoid you less ‘hey need something from you— that is unless there’s an off chance they like to subject themselves to torment, which quite honestly i have absolutely nothing to say to that. though, i would not be surprised taking into account the selection of batty people here”

“i mean considering your a-awful uh- stutter, after all. but i’m sure you already know that, don’t you, otto?” everette mocked him, replicating how the kitt spoke. he let out an exasperated sigh, shaking his head. he couldn’t believe he was actually putting up with talking to the other right now. he spoke begrudgingly, though he did take this as an opportunity to humiliate the other

“but no, you have not introduced yourself, and i would have much preferred for it to have stayed that way. if i’m being honest i was hoping ‘his day would never come. i hoped, even prayed—“ everette looked up to the sky, as if wistfully thinking his ire would maybe serve as a plea that would reach the heavens. he looked down once again, meeting kitt’s gaze with a glare

“that’s how much i dreaded the possibility of the chance i’d encounter you, or you’d come up to me. but, i suppose those prayers fell to deaf ears because the latter happened. here you are, standing in front of me like an aloof fool. which you are”

“i already know who you are, ripley talks about you. which i suppose is something, he rarely talks to anyone anymore, or do people rarely talk to him anymore? i cannot tell. but either way, i need know nothing more about you other ‘han your name, beckett otto, and your unique way of speaking” he put his fingers up, miming quotations in the air when he said the last few words of his sentence. unique certainly wasn’t being used in a positive connotation

“i mean, there was a time and place where i thought it was bad when i overheard you conversing with other people. all the repetition and all the awkward mumblings in between , it made my spine crawl. i’d go so far as to say it made me go mad”

“—and i wasn’t even the one experiencing it first hand. but now that i’m a victim, myself? right here, right now? i think i would find it easier to drown myself, in order to drown out your voice that is”

“perhaps i would be able to tolerate such ramblings, ‘hough unlikely, if your words were actually worth listening to. but, i see now that even they are just as articulate as you” he sarcastically spat out his words in the inherent condescending nature that consistently plagued his soul.

he was starting to grow more and more annoyed as every second passed, his patience was being tested apparently. another trial, one he was bound to fail. that annoyance however began to subtly contort into irritation, it having began to play on the frown he held on his face as kitt continued on

he almost wanted to laugh in disbelief, but such a noise couldn’t even surface “i mean really, you say ‘hat i’m ripley’s as if i’m some object, some lapdog that belongs to him. i’ll have you know ‘hat you are sorely mistaken, and if i hear you utter ‘hose words again from those broken vocal chords of yours, may god help me, beckett”

“just because we are on stable footing again does not give anyone the right to be say such things. i do not want another misconception taking place here on this island, nor another mishap. do you hear me?” everette tilted his head slightly, the scrutiny in his expression not letting up. he seemed to be getting worked up, over such innocent and harmless words too

“quite obviously i mean a lot to him, a bit too much. i feel as if he cares little about anything else now. nevetheless, i will mean a whole lot more than you ever will, otto. your whole existence is less than ideal. you have made an example out of yourself that has in turn, made you dead to me. let’s just hope that doesn’t devolve into a literal sense”
