sommmnambulist:
It was disheartening to learn that Casper had gone. Elizabeth caught herself more than once, with a cup of freshly brewed coffee in hand to bring to Casper’s office only to remember that he left. She stood at his former office’s doorway and sighed. “You were, like, the only Casper I actually wanted to see,” she muttered into her coffee before taking a sip. She lowered her mug and let out a disappointed sigh through her nose before turning to leave.
People leave, Elizabeth, her mind chided, get used to it.
But she didn’t want to get used to it. Why should she just shrug off losing a friend? Why should she shrug off the fact she wasn’t ever told about it? Elizabeth scowled the whole way to the art room, her hands tightly clasped around her coffee mug. She wasn’t in the mood for anything today, not even helping patients through art and when she noticed someone was in the art room—no her office, she couldn’t help but feel grumpy and annoyed.
“I’m sorry but—” she started in a peeved tone, but then stopped at the sight of Kuk leaning over her desk smiling at her Senet board, she relaxed. “I see you found my game of Senet,” Elizabeth said, a smile replacing her scowl, “My mom got it for me for Christmas back when I was in Minnesota. Usually, I can play games no problem and solve them right away. But that guy, right there, is one I can’t seem to crack.”
Elizabeth walked over to him and then set her coffee mug on her desk. “I take it you haven’t played the game in awhile,” she laughed and then gave the god a challenging look. “You want to play a round? I’ve always wanted to beat a god at a board game.”
When he heard the harsh tone he turned and was surprised it was Elizabeth saying it. Hearing her cheery voice turn into a sour note was strange against his ears. At least she turned happy again by seeing the board he’d found. A smirk crept onto his face as he asked, “Would you like to play with me? It was my favorite game to play all those centuries ago. Ra liked to talk a big game, but he always lost against me. The sore loser would throw canopic jars at me until I hid behind Serket.” He was known as the best of all the Gods at Senet, but that meant no one wanted to play with him. At least the mortals would when he was disguised as a beggar.
Rolling his eyes, a playful smile on his lips surfaced, “It’s funny that you think you can beat me at my game.” Holding the game like it was a holy artifact, he sat down at a nearby table. “If you’re so confident we might as well have a wager?” Cocking an eyebrow he gave her a cheeky grin and a mischevious gleam sparkled in his eyes.

Kalise felt a small blush come across her cheeks as she feels the warmth from Kuk’s hands. They were so gentle, it was a bit of a shock to her. Jake was always so forceful with her, so thats how she thought all men were when they cared.. She draped her arms over his shoulders while her hands met at the back of his neck. Kalise’s blush deepened at his complement. She lets out a small “Thank you.” She looks at Kuk for a moment before noticing that he had scratch marks down his face. She cups his cheeks and runs her thumbs over the marks. With her brow furrowed she softly murmurs “What happened to your lovely face Kuk?”
As his eyes gazed her soft features, he saw the blush and the God did so himself. It was a warm feeling, and it felt nice when he was blushing with Kalise. Feeling her soft hands at the back of his neck made his hair stand on end, delight washing over him. Hearing the gentle thank you was like an angel whisper in his ears. Feeling her thumbs graze his scabs made him embarrassed and he leaned into her touch. Closing his eyes as he felt her skin against his, he muttered, “I scratched at my skin. I know what I’m supposed to look like, and this is not it. I’m sorry Kalise, I shouldn’t have.” It’s become such a habit and it’s difficult for him not to. Opening his eyes to meet hers, he gave her a soft smile, hoping she’d drop the subject for another time.

sommmnambulist:
“Kuk?” she repeated, almost in disbelief. Elizabeth, ever since she was a kid, loved Egyptian mythology—Well, it wasn’t much a myth anymore. Learning about the myths, studying the culture, and overall just absorbing Ancient Egypt helped her understand and how to cope with being a medium. If it wasn’t for them, Nico would have pretty much been useless at warding off spirits. “The Kuk?” Elizabeth was laughing out of her own excitement, her eyes bright with fascination. “I can’t believe it’s actually you. I should have seen it sooner…”
She stood up, tightening her ponytail before slowly making her way over to him. She already annoyed him…And she didn’t exactly want to push him any further. Elizabeth plopped down on the couch across from where the god sat. “Man, this is unbelievable—I read stories about you, and, well, Kauket, I mean, well I kinda had to since she is your female aspect and all…” she trailed off, soon blushing. “Wow…Sorry…But…Wow…I’ve always wanted to meet an Egyptian god, to, you know, thank them and all for having cats being the guardians of the underworld. I mean without my cat Nico I would be plagued with ghosts at home twenty-four seven—” Elizabeth’s words came to a halt. She just broke one of her most important rules: Don’t go telling everyone you see dead people. But in a way, she already broke it by asking Kuk who he was based on his true form.
Elizabeth laughed nervously and scratched the back of her head, “Sorry…For um…Rambling on you…I’m just really…Ah…” she looked back up to the god, his features shifting into a monstrous looking frog to a man’s face. “Big fan of the Egyptian gods.”
The God narrowed his eyes as he looked at the woman. For a couple seconds, he questioned if she was crazy herself. No one believed his statements that he was a God, even though he was. They all said it was his mind playing tricks on him, just delusions he should push out of his mind. This woman took him seriously. To say it was refreshing would be an understatement. Right now this human was an oasis in the desert of Wisperwood Asylum. If she looked closely, she could possibly see him smile but he soon let it turn back to his usual unmoving expression of boredom.
Thank goodness she’s not sitting on the same couch as me, he thought absent-mindedly as his eyes tracked her. Listening to her, he was confused mainly. She actually seemed like she knew who he was, who she was. Unconsciously, when she talked about Kauket, he touched his face. If only this mortal form worked with him the way he wanted it to. He could become Kauket and has a beautiful snake head. Right now he’d be satisfied with his frog head. Hearing her talk about a cat, his eyes gleamed and he was actually interested, but still cautious.
Kuk hadn’t moved as she finished, and he leaned forward as his hood fell off his head. Gazing into her eyes, dark as the soil of the Earth, he tilted his head to the side. His black, lifeless eyes glittered as he asked, “Why did you believe me?”

Okay- so I heard that Elizabeth is all of a sudden chatting it up with Kuk. I thought the girl liked Casper and I thought she wouldn't switch to anyone else so quickly. How cold is that?
Well, the thing is, Casper ain’t here no more. A girls gotta have a friend and Kuk seems like a good one to me. A God that has your back and will kill anyone that hurts you? Sounds like a good deal to me. I hope that girl gets some girlfriends soon that won’t flirt with her because last time I checked, she’s as dumb as a doornail when it comes to anything intimate. At least Kuk already has a chick he’s into so I don’t think he’ll flirt with her.
By the by, I think Elizabeth and a large pizza is the perfect pairing. You’ll find that perfect pizza that’s right for you, babe.

for @sommmnambulist
Peeking into the art room Kuk was disheartened when he didn’t see Elizabeth there. She was one of the couple people that believed that he was a God. It was a relief to him that she and Kalise believed him. Wanting a companion was something everyone wanted, but he would never admit it. It was embarrassing having human emotions and he’d rather seem like he doesn’t have emotions.
Walking into the room, he saw that no one was there, which was a rare sight. It was nice having a quiet room to himself. It was calming and he felt at ease. Touching some of the canvases that littered the room, he loved the rugged texture. Seeing a desk of some sorts, he became curious and walked over to it. Being the nosey God he was, he opened one of the drawers and a gleam entered his eyes as he saw a beautiful board.
Gently bringing it up from the drawer, he had a childlike smile on his face. “Who’s is this?” he whispered to himself as he pulled out the Senet board and placed it on the desk. Running his hand over the wood he blushed lightly as he beamed. “I can’t believe I found this here,” he muttered again after touching the hieroglyphs.

Walking down the hall to his therapist’s office, he was not up for this. His face was still scabbed up from his scratching at it and he was not in the mood to explain himself. Kuk wanted his old face back he had so long ago. Instead, he was stuck with this reincarnation and would have to wait until he was destroyed and made over again. At least someone in this life was interesting. A small smile emerged on his face as he thought of her but soon put on a blank face as he stood at the door.
Hearing a woman calling him in, he opened the door and saw a woman he’d seen once before that was talking to a bird. Great, he thought to himself as he took a seat across from her. The hood on his black hoodie was up and he slumped into the chair, looking like an angry teenager. Glancing up at her he grunted out a hello and looked back at the ground with disdain.
New Faces and Cases: Rosland and her PATIENTS
@sadistic-james @the-kuk @luci-not-lucien @vampiric-beauty @wispering-willow @wild-one-wolfe
Two vampires, a wolf, a god, and the rest being humans with abilities. It sounded like a joke her mates would have said over a pint back in her college days. Rosland had the files splayed on her desk, taking a quick glance at each individual one to build some sort of idea of who they were. Though, it never quite worked well that way. Typed up files only taught her so much.
As it became closer for patients to arrive, Rosland gathered the files and returned them back into their homes in the file cabinet and then sat back in her chair, tapping a pen against her lips. She was just a fill in until another therapist could take up Elijah’s place and, being as ambitious as she was, she gladly accepted the role to be his substitute. She was trained in counseling, that was a part of managing cases. But there was a small twinge of anxiety present, the same type of anxiety she carried before a Shooting match back in her school days. Once the patients came, she would be calm, steady, and ready to hear what they had to say—but she wasn’t really expecting much.
Rosland’s ears perked to the sound of someone near her door. She drew her pen from her lips and swirled it lazily between her fingers. “You can come in, I’ve been waiting to meet you,” she spoke kindly with a small smile on her red lips.

wispering-willow:
Instinctively she flinched. It took her a moment but eventually she realized he wasn’t going to hurt her. She figured if he would he would have done it by now. As he spoke she hung on every word trying her best not only to make sense of them all but to figure out how she was suppose to respond. When he told her his name she almost smiled. That was something she knew how to respond to. “Willow!” She blurted out excited about knowing something. She wasn’t confident about anything she said but she knew when someone said their name she was suppose to say hers back.
So fearful, was she abused at some point? he thought to himself when he saw her flinch. Hearing her say her name with such excitement, he couldn’t help but smile. But, there was something wrong. Most would say more than just their name. There was a story behind this girl, and he could tell it was full of pain. Had he not remembered he was a God, he would’ve been rude to this girl, but thankfully he remembered who he was and what importance he bared. As the God of Darkness he was normally forgotten or feared, but he didn’t want that. Kuk wanted to be remembered and loved. “Willow, like the tree that weeps. That’s a nice name,” he replied with a soft voice.

Kalise stood against the wall honestly trying to hide. She felt uncomfortable in the room full of people. ‘What if someone tries to take me? I feel like Kuk would miss me..’ she thought quietly to herself then was honestly surprised then racked with guilt. ‘Jake said that I shouldn’t trust humans.,’ she fiddled with her dress that was so long that it covered her legs. ‘But Kuk is a god, he wouldn’t hurt me…’ she continues to argue with herself. She is so absorbed in her thoughts she doesn’t even notice that the partial cause of her dilemma was walking towards her. She looks up quickly at the sound of her name then feels a small smile come across her face as Kuk asks her to dance. She nods shyly as she takes his hand and follows him.
When he saw that little smile he couldn’t help but smile in return. Kalise’s smile was infectious and he felt a strange feeling welling in his chest. Whatever that feeling was, he liked it. Her hand was warm in his and he led them out to the dancefloor. Gently placing his hands on her hips, he complimented, “Your dress looks very nice Kalise.” It was a slower song playing since all the benefactors around them would only dance to slow music. He would’ve liked to dance to some faster music, but slow music is pleasant as well. At least he wouldn’t have to deal with bumping any of the people around him. All he wanted to focus on was dancing and talking to Kalise.

Stretching his arms in the air, the God could only think about home. He missed his congregation, his believers, his country. What he missed the most was swimming in the Nile. It was a beautiful experience and made him fit. Kuk knew there was a pool, but the tiny hole with water in it was laughable. A pathetic attempt at most. Nonetheless, it was the closest thing to the Nile he could get.
Strolling to the pool in his sandals and a pair of athletic shorts that hugged his body and assentuated his muscular thighs, he was automatically annoyed by the woman. She is one of the mentally ill Kuk. Take a breath, he thought to himself as he inhaled deeply. Massaging his furrowed brow he gave her a look, “To swim if you cannot tell from my clothes.” His eyes were piercing, and his face held no emotions other than boredom of the woman in front of him.
Underwater Blues [open]
Vera didnt have a swimming costume; she couldnt afford it. Having her family home burnt to the ground, and being kept away from the world for 80 years, and being a convicted murderer, she had no money. And she didnt expect the American government to offer a crazy killer any money at all.
But she wanted to swim. So she made do with a pair of black shorts and a black tshirt tied up beneath her breasts. It was the best she had, and Vera wasnt bothered by the display of the abundance of scars which littered her legs, arms and abdomon. They were battle scars, medals she had no issue showing off. Let them all know she got through it right?
The vampire dove into the cool water, swam beneath the surface for a few minutes (she was a vampire, she had learned she could hold her breath for quite a while!) before surfacing with a flick of her long hair. It was only then when she realised someone was watching her. “What the fuck do you want?” She snarled, clearly not happy about the disruption to her peacful swimming.
