“How do you know you ship them?”
When I see them together, a noise comes out of my mouth and it sounds like a dying horse.

We got a lot of amazing stuff in the last episode but currently I can't stop thinking about a super small moment that's actually huge in terms of character growth for Ashton.
It's their comment about "we're not angry that you didn't suffer... it's just gonna be a little bit before we're ok." Just one sentence has shown how much more awareness and empathy he's gained.
I think about how his talks with Laudna were so often about his rage that Laudna seemed more put together than him. The two of them suffered similarly but Laudna was (seemingly) coping better. They were mad that Laudna wasn't (noticeably) still suffering like they are. How dare she not still be as fucking bitter as they are about everything that's happened to them.
But once Laudna truly speaks about some of what's bothering her. The other half of the party, especially Imogen, having what seemed like a vacation in comparison to what Laudna has been going through, Ashton shows that he's finally starting to get it.
For Ashton to be able to recognize that they didn't want the other group to suffer, though admitting that it made them feel a little better that they did? Ashton knowing that they still need actual recovery time despite the fury and the rage and the bloodshed? The growth in that moment shouldn't go unnoticed.
