I often think about how loneliness is a more powerful emotion in theatre because you’re in a room full of people who all powerless to do anything but watch and I saw Eva Noblezada as Eurydice in Hadestown the other day and I cannot get her guttural “is anybody listening” out of my mind, she was screaming for someone to listen and you’re sat there mere metres away unable to let her know that you are, that her story is being told and she matters, so many people are listening but she doesn’t know that

describing time in English the way Whorf described Hopi: the language has no notion of 'the day after tomorrow', nor 'the day before yesterday', so time is perceived in amorphous chunks anywhere between a day and a week long... there is no inflectional future tense, and no concept of futurity, instead of which English speakers employ intentionality, describing future actions as the 'will' of the agent, e.g. The Sun 'will' rise the day after tomorrow... a type of irrealis... possibly stems from pantheistic beliefs...

Caves of Qud Mod Jam Packs updated for v1.0.4

Howdy water-sibs, as a celebration of Caves of Qud's recent successes and as a thank you for everyone who has contributed to the mod jams, I have updated the mod jam packs for Qud v1.0.4 (build 210.X).

Highlights:

The packs now work without warning or errors (barring some transient ones I was unable to fully resolve) on Caves of Qud version 1.0.4. This includes changes to mods that have been published after the pack's latest release.

The mod jam-specific wish menus have been incorporated into the built-in wish menu (shift-W by default). This required removing the default ctrl-shift-W binds for the Monster Mash-Up and Vignettes Mash-Up menus, but they can still be bound as desired.

Using some brand spankin' new build 210.X tech, each individual mod is now isolated to its own folder instead of needing a top-level Textures/ folder or merging map files
