Getting the highpoly in there, with some changes to the rig... a couple of issues to iron out. Nonetheless I’m happy that I can get the final model to do the animation! Once this works, I can export to Unreal.

Making a lot of progress on animation, and I think I’m starting to get the hang of it! Which just highlights how deep in the goofy valley (failing to be serious) some of the scenes are.

I’m proud of this! I’ve come a long way to get to this point. I’m very excited to plug in the high-detail models and rigs and get some effects going.

Made a different rig for the mercenary so that his whole body can aim at something while mocap still controls the rest of the movement.

Titus was apparently a common Roman name. I read about the Roman general and emperor Titus, to see what’s up with the real historical figure who shares my golem’s name. Turns out he laid siege to Jerusalem to crush a Jewish rebellion, won, killed many and razed Jerusalem. Pretty bad. He later succeeded his father as emperor and according to Roman accounts was a good emperor, at least. They made a cool arch for him.

Rigging the mechanics of Titus’s armor/body!

PSR constraints were not doing what I thought they would do, so after some experimentation with the Parent constraint, Xpresso (node editor), and UpVector constraint, UpVector does work as expected when trying to single out an axis of rotation.
