Lumity is kinda stale…and boring….like there’s no flavor to it….they hate eachother for like 5 episodes and then suddenly they’re besties and have crushes on eachother and like ok yeah they’re cute and they definitely paved the way for future LGBT romances in media but other than that I don’t really? care about them?

then again, I prefer the tension and history behind Raeda rather than the wholesome high school romance Lumity have

Eh, it's not really that surprising that this is one of those fandoms that shame people for liking the villains, The Owl House did struck me as one of those shows where, just like Steven Universe, it has messages about acceptance and love yet the fandom does everything in its power to go against that message.

I see more people complaining about Lumity fans being annoying about crackships than I see Lumity fans actually being annoying about it lol maybe it's just the side of the fandom I interact with, but most of the Lumity shippers I know are pretty chill about other ships involving the girls, it's gotten a lot better since 2020-2021

Sorry, I think I should clarify what I mean. There are a lot of people who talk about Odalia as if she wanted to usurp Belos and become the new head of Boiling Isles. Like, I understand if people say she wants to become one of the elite, but specifically wanting to overthrow Belos and become the new ruler is a completely different thing.

I complecatly agree that when it comes to the show about the real world or a world based on a real, it is important to include at least some aspects of poc culture (for example, they absolutely shoulded to it with Luz, bc there is basically no hints on her culture, except saying some Spanish words, calling friends a family and etc)

But when it comes to fantasies, like toh (or she-ra, or any other show with a similar concept and lore) where there are no real human cultures and all races live exactly the same bc It's litterally a part of the lore, It just wouldn't make sence to give, say, Amity, Willow and Gus (3 characters of different races) different cultures, bc there are no cultures in the Boiling Islands AT ALL

And that's basically my main problem with toh too, bc giving some toh characters actual human races doesn't make sence in this lore. Bc 1. It doesn't based on anything. We can see that all people on BI live the same way in almost the same places. Yeah, there are higher places on titan, like his arms, but there wasnt shown any difference in life and climate there 2. Most of the characters, who are just the same as the hexsquad and Eda, are litterally demons. They don't have any human races, they either look like unliving things (stones?) or strange monsters with unusual skin color, face and etc. And none of them have any specific culture. So it seems like all human-like switches look so not even bc they have these races, but only bc they heppened to have this kind of skin color. It could be Pink, green, blue or whatever, but it was just an accident that they happened to have a skin color that humans have.

No, Im not saying that that was what Dana planned, bc It's clearly that she wanted it to be a "representation". Im saying how it suppose to be in fact, bc this kind of representation just doesn't work.

Also, the whole thing that there are witches who are litterally just humans with elf ears is stupid, especially when all of them are suddenly main characters/ characters who have any role in the plot

If Dana wanted to make a fantsy world with demons, she shoulded either show us the difference between human demons and monster demons, or make all characters on BI look like actual monster, not elves

Tbh? If we had gotten a full length season 3, then I think it would've been insane because Luz would've been super depressed for the entire first half and the fandom would've been in shambles

Hey y’all, I’m really really sorry about disappearing. I’ve had a lot on my plate recently and things have been hectic, but I should’ve given y’all a warning.

That said, I don’t think I can run this blog anymore. It’s not all bad, I love reading your guys’ character analysis and headcanons, but I think running this blog has ruined a show that I really liked for a long time for me. Again, this isn’t targeted at any particular person and most of you have been really fun and pleasant to interact with. It’s actually been really good! But for the sake of my own mental health, I’m shutting it down.

I’m going to post that last few things in the inbox. And I’m sorry to those who have been supportive.
