"Are you capable of walking on your own, Captain?" He did not know yet if the Captain was ill or if going off the odd look to him that he would need to carry him back to his ship. When Lolita had mentioned her Captain being another species he had hoped very much that he wouldn't be capable of catching this illness, but that remained to be seen. And even if he were immune? They would need to decontaminate the entire ship and perhaps even burn the clothing that he was currently wearing if he had come into contact with the illness.
It was not quite the answer that he hoped for. Programming could be anything and it could be to the pilot above all else. Even that of the greater good, but he had little choice. All that he could hope for was that he wasn't being lead into a trap. It would be terribly inconvenient if that were the case. He'd never been all too fond of them. "As you say. I'll accept the directions now." He'd wriggled his way out of traps before and he'd do so again now if this were one.

He spent the rest of his waiting time securing and repairing what he could of the damaged ship, trying to salvage cargo and the like. He would hate for his Captain to lose too much credit on this disaster of a mission. It was only when the massive UC ship finally docked that he stood at attention and ready for them to come and clear out the creatures within. "Greetings. I'm here to assist if need-" He did not get to finish the sentence. The UC troops stormed the ship, and one with a stun baton hit him hard enough to send his circuitry into a tizzy. "Out of the way!" The unfriendly trooper shoved him over as another group carried a heavy crate. Clearly they were intent on capture of the creature not extermination. "Synthetic secured."
"Very well Captain." He would be certain to guard the creature so that there wasn't any trouble. The very last thing they needed was anymore of that. It was a good thing that he had destroyed the sample. The UC didn't need to know anything more about the creature. They only needed to flood the vents with something highly toxic and put an end to it. He was certain that the UC had plenty of chemicals like that. If they were willing to use them on the creature that was. Somehow he doubted they'd let the creature go easily. "Not at all."

"I hope that being perhaps similar to myself in processes you put the good of humanity above a single individual." He didn't know if he could trust her or not, but he hoped that they ran on the same programming. It didn't seem though that he had much choice. He was going to have to put some trust in here because he could not solve this illness by himself. "How shall we go about finding your Captain?" And therein lie the problem. They had to find this Captain before it was too late. If it wasn't already.

"That decision is entirely up to you, Captain. Would you prefer I stay with the creature or go along with you?" It didn't matter very much to him if he went along or if he stayed. He would obey whatever order was given to him. If he was needed to remain behind and guard the ship, see what could be salvaged then that was exactly what he was going to do. If he was needed as emotional support then he would be there to do that as well. He began to put away the tools back where they belonged in preparation for whatever they would do next regardless of where he was needed most.

The Synth creation process Synth (short for synthetic humanoids, also called androids or artificial humans) is a common term used to refer to the robotic and biomechanical beings manufactured within the Institute's laboratories.

What is it about anonymously poking fun at others and making them feel shitty for what they enjoy/have created that is enjoyable for people? Does toxicity and negativity really make you feel better? Does it make you smile? Do you enjoy seeing a small fandom dwindling because the members no longer feel welcome?
Everyone who creates and contributes to the HL fandom in any positive way should feel so proud of themselves for helping to bolster the community. A nice comment on a post or a reblog with gushing tags means so much.
Nothing nice to say? Keep your miserable thoughts to yourself.
It's easy to say to 'just block' a blog or tags, but you're delusional if you think an obviously targeted post won't make its way back to that person. People talk.
The lack of empathy is astounding.

reminder that it’s okay to like certain media even if the creator is problematic or not the greatest human, or even if you just don’t like them. it’s okay to separate media from source. from show or movie creator, authors or artist. you are allowed to like what you like. whatever brings you comfort & joy. do not be discouraged by your interests even when someone else doesn’t agree with or like them as well. also remember that you can separate actor from character, don’t feel bad liking a character even with the actor is garbage. i myself love some characters where i later found the actor is absolute garbage but i still love the character. the character is not the actor. the media is not the creator.

i wrote this on my rp blog, and now i'm writing it here:
if you don't reach out and plot or interact or say hi to people, you can't accuse them of having a clique. that's exactly like not applying for a job and then reacting when you notice other employees at the firm.
