this is such a beautiful piece like yesssssss

the feeling of remembering, to me, feels like a question, and in that is dread and floating and numbness and surrender the nocturnal and stiff image is clear, I think, like droning and functioning above living presently but then there is light and warmth and movement and sound and life, but it is questioned still, hazily remembered- there was a world before the current moment and it was warm and that warmth still hopefully returns today, no matter the darkness or the size of the clouds in one's mind or space

anyways that was my interpretation, I love it as well as the inclusion of a recording and sketch <3

Old Jokes

There were some old jokes (some were funny, some were stupid) in our bunch There were some sunny afternoons that I forgot At the table by the pine trees or behind the purple couches There were people, laughing loudly, quite a lot.

And here I am now in a bedroom Living in a different city.

But I remember it. I do. I remember it.

When I look back I find the dread I didn’t see When in my head it felt like floating Into cityscapes of internet surrender Blender brain, and drinking down the pain And down the drain is water So I sought another place, another time to be awake

But I remember what it felt like to be swaying in the tide with you And smiling at our phones And through the summer We would sit alone

And send each other jokes That we found funny, so I won’t regret The dull and numbing ache I get Whenever one of you lights up my screen

It sends me back to hazy days, like I’m fifteen.
