Headcanon nicks eyes absolutely glow brighter when thinking hard or intense feelings. Working on a tough case, accepting a complement. Kellars reaction to saying something either really sweet or stupid is him just pouting off in the distance eyes glowing like >:/ while the Microsoft error message sound plays in his head
HAHAHA AWH I really like that that’s too cute. He turns into a flashlight 🥺
The young synths have a tendency to stare. Kiddo calls it reconnaissance. Initially they were unobtrusive, hiding or attempting to watch people from a distance. Now, as they feel safer in their surroundings, they’re more open about it.
DiMA understands that they are learning from observation. He remembers that stage of his own development – staring at his brother, staring at the scientists who stared back, collecting the torrent of information and building up models of behaviour in his mind. He learned so much that way, and therefore understands why they do it.
Maybe he’ll address it with them if others are uncomfortable. He will likely explain to them that humans feel uncomfortable about being watched, but that in their own culture it is an acceptable and necessary way to learn about the world.
For a nanosecond he is dazzled by the idea that he and they have a shared culture, that they are experiencing something like childhood and he has a frame of reference for it, and then Dollface speaks up and snaps him out of it.
