Indie Lynne / Ask Box: Open / Developing Individual Components lasts Days-Weeks-Months / No Schedule For Posts / SFW Blog --- Spirin is a fan-made Pokémon region made by me. This Region has the current total of 445 total Pokémon inhabiting it, 300 Native & 145 Non-Native. Spirin is well known for having the largest number of Ghost Types of any Region in the world! There's many mysteries to this strange & massive Region. *~Would you like to learn them?~*

Where to download your game? I like to play it

DuskGhost Progress Update: For January 1, 2025
Hello everyone I hope you had a Merry Christmas and happy New Year! I have made huge progress on my game. I am up to working on version 1.12.2 of my game and am almost done with everything up to the 1st gym. I am just finishing up a required side area before moving onto route 3.
Here’s everything I have added and working in the game so far:
Roughly 35 outta 449 Pokémon added.
9 main locations made and mostly complete.
30 total maps currently implemented.
Starters (Base form and stats for evolutions.)
Player's home, Pokémon lab, Pokémon Infirmary, Rival encounter and side areas.
Route 1 (Trainers, day, night and overworld encounters.)
First Town (Remade from scratch and expanded. Building interiors. Checkpoint trainer.)
First Town Side Area (Items, day, night and overworld encounters. One of 2 water encounters.)
Route 2 (Trainers, day, night encounters. Checkpoint trainer. 5 of 7 encounters.)
First City (Building interiors, day and night encounters.)
First City Side area 1 (Building interiors, day and night encounters.)
First City Side Area 2 (Building interiors, day and night encounters.)
And here's everything to add in the next update:
6 more main locations and their sub areas.
Fakémon in their corresponding areas.
Revamping canon Pokémon move sets.
3 more regional variants.
Updating sprites on an implemented regional variant.
And I plan to add in custom tile sets by the end of 2025. There's a lot to work on. I plan to have the first demo I release include everything up to the third gym. Thank you to anybody who’s still interested in my game and its progress.

DuskGhost Progress Update: For May 9, 2024
Hello everyone. Sorry for being inactive for so long. It's been roughly 3 years since I posted and about 6 years of development for DuskGhost. I had a lot happen in the last 3 years, but I can say I haven't given up on this game!
As for actual progress? A good chunk has been made. First, DuskGhost has been updated to the most current version of Pokémon Essentials. The Pokémon and Pokédex PBS files have had a major update.
The region's 'guide' will be changed later, I plan for there to be 2 in be future depending on the player's gender. The main guide being the professor and the second will vary. These varying guides will be the Apotheose of 2 of the 4 cults in the Region. Giri Kylon a Shiny Qiliri from Trinity of Silver will secretly help the male player. While Andrew Giakorim a Shiny Jeko from the Trinity of Copper will help the female player. Andrew will be more active and involved then Giri with helping the player. They will also act as a second rival to the player.
Some of Spirin's lore and backstory has also been updated/changed. I will go into those changes in a separate post.
In terms of the technical side and planning. I am mostly focusing on the data in the google sheet that I'm using to plan out most of the game. The layout for the 4 cults is about 80% done. All that has to be added is where the grunts have to be added and their teams. There are currently around 47 locations and 4 of 12 gyms planned out. The Pokédex was expanded from 366 to 415 Pokémon and Fakémon. There are 34 Regional variants, some from other regions.
A second Pokédex has also been added for 'Miasma Pokémon' the number isn't yet included in the 415. These Pokémon have been warped by the toxic miasma that had covered most of the planet. Most of these pokémon are undead, some have adapted and some have been warped. This includes an adapted shroomish called Droomish and a warped Oddish. These Pokémon aren't Regional Variants, but something else entirely.
The rivals do have names, but haven't yet been planned out beyond that.
I'm working on filling out the remainder of the main pokédex and the route through the region as my main focus currently. If there's anything I missed, I'll edit this post or make a second update post. Thank you to anybody who's still interested in my game and its progress.

You encountered a new game! Pt.2
Game Style:
- Brand new, massive Region
- 3 versions of the game, 2 of 3 for a more mature Player
- Versions: Morning Spirit, Dusk Ghost & Spectral Midnight
- Gen-5 styled battles
- A minimum of 50% story driven
- And more
Side Facts:
- The Station is at the Southwest corner of Spirin atop shear cliffs. The Ocean below, marks the Southern & Eastern borders. Only a 15 min run away is the mountain range that borders the Northern & Western sides.
- Outsiders take an old train to a nearly vacant train station. After a half-hour walk along a dirt & gravel road they arive at the gate station.
- Some Gyms keep their old names to honor the previous Leader.
- Some Gym names give a hint if it's themed.
Development Team:
I got the idea & started planning out this Game on January 28th, 2018. On November 27, 2020 I officially have a coordinator on my development team, Hytregos. Until early 2019, I was making it solo.

You encountered a new game! Pt.1
Introduction:
This fangame isn't quite your standard Pokémon adventure. The journey you embark on does explore a new Region, with new Pokémon, collecting gym badges to challenge the Champion & face off with a corrupt organization, but that's as far as normalcy goes. While this Game starts out normal & on the lighter side, you're soon throun headfirst into the darkest reaches of the Region. It won't be sugarcoated, it'll hit ya like a ton of bricks. Our world has tragedy & plenty skeletons in its closet, so does this Region. These are those monsters hidden in the shadows. Main Story: You're 15 & living at the Gate Station, the only Land based entrance to this secluded Region. Your Mother is the Head Pokémon Doctor & your Father is the Head Breeder of the Station's Starter Pokémon Program. You're finally old enough to set out on your own Journey, much to the dismay of your parents & little sister. A few short days ago you received an acceptance letter to become the apprentice of the most renowned reasercher in the Region. Ms. Indie Lynne, the foremost expert on Ghost Types. But it comes with a catch, she wants you to compete in the Eidolon League. She believes this will help you become a strong & well traveled trainer. Also claiming it's the safest way for new trainers to travel. (Diverging Story: It's your 16th Birthday, your name is Flannery Platinum. 6 years ago your older brother, Falkner, became Champion & defeated the Trinity. But now they're back for revenge & are more hellbent on success then before. Like with your brother, Ms. Lynne agreed to become your mentor with the same condition.) During the first day of the Spring Registration, new partner at your side, you set out. You aim to uncover the secrets behind the region's strongest Types & discover the truth hidden in ancient history. Something few have come anywhere close to uncovering. But the deeper you venture the more you may regret digging through the ghosts of the past. Harsh rivals, never-ending risk, twisted truths & unexpected allies. Who, if anyone, can you really rely on? Will you make it through unscathed? There is one thing you know for sure, you only trust your Starter to keep you safe in this dark & deadly landscape. Good luck & Welcome to Spirin: The Phantom Kingdom! Evil Team aka a revived Cult: The Trinity Defenders. They resurfaced after having thought to've been defeated many centuries ago. Due to an internal disagreement they've split into 4 Sects. Despite this they all have the same goal, replace the Pokémon God that holds the title as the Region's King. They'll not only fight you, but the other Sects. After all, only 1 of the 4 candidates can steal the Crown. Yet, among their ranks, there may be an... Ally? Features: - 250+ Fakémon (In progress) - 100+ Official Pokémon (Added) - Carry 13 Pokémon instead of the standard 6 (On Hold) - All Pokémon can use 6 moves rather then 4 (On Hold) - Max LV is now 200 (On Hold) - Increased Shiny odds (Adding) - 3 new Starters, 1 having a split evolution line (Coded, need Sprites) - 4 New & powerful Types ( Light, Crystal, Tempo & Celestial) (Added) - Story & events differ depending on the gender you play as. (In progress) - Day-Night cycle. (Added) - Different encounters depending on time of day. (Added) - Following Pokémon (Added) - Mega Evolution (On Hold) - Regional Forms (In progress) - Custom Abilities, Moves & Items (In progress) Gyms & the League: ☆ The Eidolon League takes the place of the standard Pokémon League. ☆ There are 13 gyms, none are optional. ☆ No Elite 4 ☆ You may need to do a few difficult or lengthy tasks before you get access to a Gym. ☆ Levels are higher & more ranged. (Ex. LV 16 to LV 20 for first Gym) ☆ Some Gyms specialize in a single Type, while some have a Theme. (Ex. Knights, Magic & Music) ☆ After beating the Champion you still must prove your worth. - And so many more unique features to discover! Find Pt.2: Here

Spirin’s ranking of Judo & Karate (Shotokan)
Happy New Year everybody! I was going to post this yesterday since I wanted a post on both New Year's Eve & Day, but didn't have it ready in time. So, it's a day late. After all, I'm trying to break my habit of procrastination.
In Spirin, Sawk & Throw can be found with different belt colors. This indicates their rank in Judo & Karate (Shotokan). For a Throw a higher belt color shows how much strength & experiance they have. Ingame it's purely aesthetic & to add a bit of depth to the Pokémon. For a Sawk it not only shows their skill, but ingame it's both aesthetic & gradually raises 3 of their base stats. Resulting in them being doubled by the time their a Red belt.
Find info on Spirin Sawk: Here

Spirin’s back-story Pt.4
Q12: Was there a pokemom hunted towards extinction due to fear, food, jewelry, invasive, ect.?
A12.) No. If anything, it's usually humans being hunted by Pokémon.
Q13: Would there be endgame exclusive content AFTER beating the game?
A13.) Yes, a fair bit. Locations, items, trainers & Pokémon.
Q14: Would there a stache of treasure hidden somewhere that its origin story stems from outside of spirin?
A14.) Nope.
Q15: Would there be an anti-hero figure that will be around to test the player and reward them with OP items for their Pokémon if they pass?
A15.) Not exactly. Your rival will give you rewards for impressing them. But there are 4 'anti-heros' aka the 4 Pokémon the devisions of the cult wanna replace Gen with. For the most part they are against you, will only help if it benifits them or have no other choice.
Q16: Would there be a location that is forbidden to trespass, not even Indie nor Gen would be able to acess the place?
A16.) Sorta, Several the player needs special permission to access, but there isn't anywhere Indie & Gen can't reach.
Q17: Would there be a event where the player recieves an invitation to go somewhere?
A17.) Yes, a few.
Q18: Would there be a garden that is protected by some kind of Pokémon and it's stated that, "If you were spotted by them, this Pokémon and its brothers and sisters will produce a soul stealing or soul erasing howl." BUT the player must travel through the garden to get something.
A18.) Kinda. There is Sidow's Garden, it & its pre evolution are said to be fertility guardians. Only the impure & unwerthy are in danger when entering.
Q19: Would there be a type of good that outsides beg for spirin to give it to them?
A19.) No. But there are many, many failed potching attempts.
Q20: Would there be...? "Yes, it is! It is! The. One. AND. ONLY. *THING*!!!"
A20.) Yes, a few. Primarily tri types, sub-guardians & guardians. An' Gen!
Q21: Would there be a really good running gag in the game?
A21.) Yes, several. Like: "Watch out for the ladder ghost!"
Merry Christmas Everyone!

Spirin’s back-story Pt.3
Ok, this one’s kinda long. Back on November 30th I did another Q&A with my coordinator, Hytregos, on more of Spirin’s story. Here’s the result.
Note: Sorry for any spelling, grammar or punctuation errors. Q1: Was there a event that caused a lot of destruction in spirin, but had both pros and cons in the aftermath? A1.) Sorta. As I’ve stated before, the Trinity Defenders (Cult) have done a lot of damage over several centuries, but there have been several unrelated national desasters. Q2: Was there an event where Pokémon were laying eggs, but most or almost all were tragically infertile? A2.) No, infertility is rare in Spirin. But some Pokémon who’ve lost a type can’t bread properly or at all with those who still have that type. Causing a loss of an evo or outright extinction of their old version. Like how Gengars used to evolve into Spirins who were tri types & the whole line looked different. Now that’s not possible since their duel types. Q3: Was there a moment when a astroid almost crashed into spirin but even after the knockback, were there some large debris from the astroid that crashed down into Spirin? A3.) No, nothing like that ever happened. Q4: Was there a moment where spirin had some sort of nucpear fallout or nuclear weather event or has spirin prepares for such? A4: No, that has never happened, but there are measures in case of an outside atk. Q5: What is spirin’s currency runned by? A5.) The currency is called Poké. Exchange rate: 1 Poké = $0.01. Is run & managed by 2 council members: Human & Pokémon. Q6: Is there a relic that gives Pokémon special ability of transcendence or something similar? A6.) No, but sealing memories into objects for others to find in the future is a thing & will happen to the player multiple times. Q7: Would there be a Pokémon or person that oversees everything the player does and records them? A7.) Not really, but Mika, a shiny mew2, & Gen do take intrest in the player & keeps track of them. Q8: What would Spirin be like IF the cult was never brought down? A8.) Chaos, the region would be devided. But the cult wasn’t actually brought down, just had its numbers severely reduced. They work in the shadows, but the vast majority of the population is against them. If that hadn’t happened more people would have been tricked into believing them. Q9: Would there ever be a organisation that would be worse than the previous cult? A9.) No. They can be & are more brutal then any you could otherwise face. Noone has or will go as far as they have. Q10: Has any of the other evil organizations like rocket, magma/aqua, galatic, ect., try to invade spirin and if so, what happened? A10.) No, they non are strong enough to handle the ferocity of Spirin Pokémon. The few who know about the region will physically stop members from going, with force if needed. They wouldn’t make it out alive evan with high lvl Pokémon, their stats are just too low compared to Spirin’s stats. Q11: Would there be a Pokémon so large that once it died, the land just expanded above its body and the body istelf became a valley? A11.) No, none are that massive. The biggest Pokémon are the 4 primary guardians & Gen’s terror form. Find Pt.2: Here
