I mean dentistry is basically just waterboarding where you’re expected to smile at the end, I announce huffily.

I think you're conflating "altering your enjoyment" with "ruining your enjoyment." I absolutely enjoy reading a text knowing what happens--but I'm a heavy rereader, I can have that for free! I /also/ enjoy reading a text without knowing what's coming, and that's something I can only experience once, and un-spoiled
caring about spoilers for any media is child behavior

The age of majority actually varies in Canada; in some provinces it's 18, in others it's 19. (18 in more than 19, actually.) Which really goes to prove your point; it's kind of ridiculous to suggest that an eighteen-year-old having sex with a nineteen-year-old is fine and healthy in Alberta, and then immediately becomes unethical if they're spending the weekend in BC

These people use words very differently than I do. There’s a difference between a seventeen year old and a ten year old, for heaven’s sake.
Might still be a terrible idea to have sex with the seventeen year old! But this way of talking makes me so uncomfortable.
It’s like all that matters about a person’s maturity level is “should you have sex with them or not” and that is yikes

"You didn't go to Lotus Pier when you first revived"--Jiang Cheng, can you say any louder that you, too, want to go back in time?

It's amazing how the first time through you're like, "Jin Ling/Jin Rulan", right, just another name for me to remember
And then the second time through you see the Rulan and it's just Aaaaaah

It occurs to me that probably one of the things Jiang Cheng has failed to forgive Wei Wuxian for is him actually dying.

I'm from Quebec, and--man. We never had anything like that; the closest we got was the Rememberance Day gatherings in my high school, where the poem would be recited ("They shall not grow old,/As we who are left grow old...") And the anthem sung. And I guess it was usually sung at major events like graduations, as well? But definitely not just in the course of everyday life. (And it was all anglo schools, so this isn't just a francophone thing.)
American schoolkids salute their flag everyday, but I was wondering, what kids in across Canada do. For my elementary school (south central BC) it was singing O' Canada every Monday, but by the time we were in grade four, we were all just mouthing 'cause we didn't want to sing, but no one jumped down our throats about that. We didn't face a flag or put our hands on our hearts ever. And in highschool we never sang the anthem. I'm curious to know what it was and is like across Canada, everyone???
We sang the anthem during assemblies, and I believe it played over the intercom in the mornings for elementary school.
I don’t think the teachers cared if you sang or not. I didn’t a lot of the time because I was so shy, but I seem to recall that students would get scolded if they didn’t at least stand for the anthem.
After middle and High School they only did the anthem stuff in assemblies.
That’s my experience.

Sleep phones! https://www.sleepphones.com/products I've got a similar problem and these are great. They've also got "run phones"--I'm not really sure what the difference is, I've got sleep phones and I expect I could run with mine? The downside is you look completely ridiculous (or at least I do), though maybe that's be less of a concern for the wireless version.
I also bought this recently for bluetooth/not looking like a giant dork on video chat purposes, and the sound quality's not the best but for the price it's a pretty good deal: https://www.amazon.ca/your-orders/pop/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_pop?_encoding=UTF8&gen=canonical&lineItemId=lhjjlqpsojtwqny&orderId=702-7751235-9704248&packageId=1&returnSummaryId=&returnUnitIndices=&shipmentId=D478Bg3GM. That said I wouldn't trust them for running and I'm kind of skeptical even about walking... though they may be better for walking if you don't wear glasses.
Good luck!
As long as it’s all rec solicitations o’clock all day up in this bish: another context in which I’ve been thinking of listening to audiobooks is in some of the frankly kind of silly amount of time each day I spend walking. I can listen to audiobooks easily enough on my phone, but I need headphones for it.
And there’s the catch: I hate earbuds. Their convenience and portability is great, but maybe my ears are small or a weird shape or something, because I’ve never encountered a pair that didn’t start to cause substantial pain within ten minutes or so of insertion. So, I’m wondering what people think in terms of either light and unobtrusive over the ear headphones that wouldn’t be an issue to walk (and maybe occasionally jog) with, or earbud-like headphones you have reason to believe wouldn’t lead me to regretfully consider whether I should’ve brought lube.
