I should have been drawing the last 1993 contestant today, but instead I decided to sketch some of this year's artists.

It pains me that this Eurovision will forever be remembered in a negative light. Despite all of the talented artists this year, the wonderful hosts and production, it is indeed very hard to stay positive. I wished that the contest would live up to its 'United by music' slogan. Without exaggeration, Eurovision has always been my favorite time of the year... But not this year.

I am Dutch, so I guess I will not be able to vote tonight. Regardless I hope we can show support for the artists tonight.

Because it has always been the artists that have made Eurovision into the wonderful show that it is. Not the EBU.

As this is an eurovision blog, i feel like I have to express my opinion on the boycott and Israel's partipation this year

I'm not politically involved in general, for various reasons, so my opinion may not be unbiased, therefore I myself don't talk about such political issues, but it is true that the war going on in Palestine and Israel is something I should care about.

I agree with the fact that Israel should not have participated this year, at least to keep the contest non-political. Israel's government has officialy been accused of genocide and is in middle of controversies that make its presence at a big contest like the ESC problematic, and even more since Palestine is not represented at the ESC, it make Israel's participation seems like a political statement. I personaly worried a little for the Israeli contestant, I want no hate for her, since she's only a singer, but as the Israel's contestant, she represent her country and therefore its goverment, and could have been, and may have been, a target of personal insults and others initially directed to Israel's goverment, and this is an other reason why I think the country should not have send a contestant.

I did not boycott the ESC, and it is not because I don’t believe that injustice was commited by Israel. But I think the other contestants and all the people who worked on the contest should not be "punished" because of Israel.
