Before the storm. 

I take a lot of photos of this horse, and although he can look rough and tough, he is my baby. It’s been 15 years now that we have been together and it’s been a lot of thick and thin. He lost the eye 5 months after I got him, and we were left to relearn life and see where we could go. He was my event horse, then show jumper, and now just my best pal. He has taught me a lot, but most of all not to give up when the going gets tough. He’s my boy. My Traveller.

This mare sounds a lot like GG, except she’s simply in better weight. I found her on Facebook. If you’re interested, she’s $450 and I’ll PM you the name of the seller and the group the mare is advertised in.

This horse is completely blind. He’s depending on guidance and voice cues from his rider to figure out what to do without eyes. This performance shows a great level of skill in riding and training on the rider’s part, and an immense amount of trust from the horse toward his rider. This is freaking amazing.

I met this boy over the summer while we were down in Kentucky checking out horses for my step-sister. He wasn’t up for adoption at the time due to his eye (more info in the link) so we didn’t see him ridden but I did get to pet him for a bit.

This boy caught my attention when I noticed his cloudy eye. He acted a bit like he wanted to be a grump at first but when I started petting him he turned out to be super sweet. He let me mess with his face and love on him even though he obviously didn’t know me, he even practically put his head in my hands. He’s a sweetie though he may not show it to you at first. 

He’ll make a great horse for someone and with what he’s gone through he definitely deserves a loving home! They think he’ll be best suited as a dressage prospect but I believe his only physical limitation is the blindness in his right eye. 

@riding-blind maybe you could give this sweet VIH a boost? I know partly blind horses have a harder time finding homes so I’m sure he needs all the help he can get!
