The Last Spring: The Memories We Buried That Day
Synopsis: “Hydro Dragon Hydro Dragon, please don’t cry,” were the words whispered as blood trickled down the mortal’s lips while the Hydro Dragon of the era hopelessly held the mortal’s form in his arms — unable to change the fate steadily approaching.
Note: This is for a Discord event, which I will use as an excuse to actually write. The OC (Thalia)is set as a placeholder for [name] because I’m too used to writing that kind of stuff. *Booohooo* And if it sounds lazier as you read, it just means I was running out of time and was getting lazy
Warning: (I think), probably not canon and out-of-character, misuse of em dashes and semicolons, etc.
And thanks to @etherisy for editing and proofreading this.
The Iudex strolled calmly through the streets of the armoured city whilst the burgesses and passersby drifted past him like a river splitting around a rock. He eventually crossed paths with a familiar face — one that was burned into his mind from long ago, before his role as Iudex was even assigned to him. However, she simply glanced at him before moving on her way — her clothes told that she was not of Fontaine descent; whether it was regret or relief on his mind was unknown, as it lay hidden further inside than just the judge’s face.
What felt like time had frozen, melted just as the woman disappeared from sight, immersed in the sea of people around her — only then did Neuvillette break out of his trance-like state. He lifted his hand to his head as it almost felt painful to remember the memories he had long buried and repressed deep inside; one of the very few times he could vividly remember human emotion he himself felt — an emotion he couldn’t bear to feel again.
After a moment to himself, he lifted his head from his hand while the sky slowly shifted to a dark hue; the vibrant tones of blue that once painted the sky becoming a sign of regret, it's sentiment made clear as droplets descended from the clouds and stained the once dry surfaces across Teyvat. Neuvillette then carried himself back to his office, ignoring the water running from his robes. His eyes appeared dimmer than before his last visit — albeit unclear from first glance.
Soft footsteps gradually become audible as a voice follows. Sedene approaches the Judge with a tilted head and a hand under her chin, confused at the sulking appearance of the ever-solemn Iudex. “Monsieur Neuvillette? It’s not often you come by drenched in the rain." The Melusine mentions as she notices the oddity of the Chief Justice’s slouch posture, "I’ll go get you a towel, please stand by for a moment.” She murmured before she turned to retrieve a towel.
Neuvillette slowly lowered his hand enough that he can see in full view before a flash of pain pulses through his head, making him flinch with his face frozen in shock as he catches a glimpse of a memory he thought he had long forgotten. He then slowly made his way back to the door to his office, water trailing behind him while he passed Sedene — who was just about to approach him.
“Monsieur Neuvillette, I have brought you a towel.” The Melusine exclaimed as she offered the towel up to the Iudex — who was dragging his feet back to his office.
Neuvillette looks back down at the towel handed to him by the Melusine. “Thank you, Sedene. I’ll tidy myself up in my office before getting to work.” He forces a small smile; although true to his heart, something still weigh down at his smile. One could see through it easily. He then takes the towel in his hands before making his way back to his office, as he closes the door behind him.
He was alone, just as he needed it to be. No one can see him like this. Neuvillette then rubs the towel around his hair after undoing the tie at the end of his hair — wringing the water out of his hair before changing his robes into an extra pair hidden inside a credenza table.
Now dry, he sits in his chair as he pulls out a folder about a recent case to be overseen in trial soon — but the more he reads, the less he understands; lapses in his understanding of this case became filled with unwarranted memories ever since her saw that mysterious woman earlier. He tried moving forward to a simpler case, but the result stayed the same, with his mind being clouded with these… emotions of turmoil.
The Judge sighed as he rested his elbow over the table, his cheek pressing against his knuckles. He understands that he is incapable of proceeding or even listening to any trials to come in this state — all because of one figure he believed to have moved past after centuries.
Sedene was about to approach Neuvillette’s desk with a glass of water in hand, however she almost dropped it when she saw that his chair was deserted of the Chief Justice’s presence when she had just entertained him earlier.
“W-wha—?” Sedene stuttered as she quickly ran over to the empty seat behind the desk to inspect whether there is any trace of the Iudex. She was able to heave a sigh of relief when she found a note with the Iudex’s handwriting; clearly separated and more noticeable than the stacks of papers containing the information of recent and future cases.
The note read: “To Whom It May Concern: I would like to extend my apologies for my abrupt exit. I have taken some time to assess my mental condition and have concluded that I am not in a position to oversee any cases due to my inability to maintain focus. I look forward to rejoining you once I have improved my situation. Cordially, Neuvillette.”
The Melusine takes the letter in hand and scans it thoroughly, noting how odd it was for the Chief Justice to take leave, as he had rarely done so before. She simply took the letter and reported to Lady Furina and the rest of the Court of Justice that the Chief Justice has taken leave for an indefinite period.
Neuvillette remained seated in an armchair in his home; the rooms and halls were just as desolate of his occupancy as they had been when he first received his private room; devoid of any presence of himself as a character that owns this flat here.
He takes his hand and holds it caringly: his thumb rubbing circles around his palm gently — almost the same way as he remembered from that long distant memory; as she too once had done this with him, but her hands were much softer, and he could feel the raw emotions she hid behind her words and soft hymns. His greatest teacher of human emotions.
“Thalia…”
His voice was but a small whisper echoing through the barren halls of his flat; a mere fraction of a second where his existence momentarily imprinted in his home. A faint memory slowly comes to the Iudex’s mind as his thumb continues to rub his palm, the line between past and present becoming hard to distinguish reality from this faint fragment of the past.
Once, when the reincarnation of the Hydro sovereign first roamed the land and sea of the nation of justice during its rudimentary era. He crossed paths with a human along the shores of a nation neighbouring that of Fontaine at the time. She was young and small then — short in stature, and quite frail.
The two looked at each other for a while, the girl held a small white flower in her hand. After a long, awkward silence between the two, the girl stepped a little closer towards the man unknown to her while extending her little arm with the flower in hand.
“Here…” the girl whispered quietly while her eyes flickered between the man and the floor. The man kneeled down before taking the flower in his hands — his face lacking expression as he studied the girl, lacking understanding of her behaviour.
“... What is this?” The man blurted out with an unmoving face, making the girl shuffle back from being unease by the man’s lack of facial mannerisms.
“... Flower… My mom grew them…” The girl mumbled before flinching as a woman’s voice called out a name from the distance behind, “Thalia! Come back inside!” The girl quickly turned her head back to where the voice came from before running towards it — all while saying her farewells to the man she didn’t know. “Bye, mister!”
The man quietly watched the girl fade into the distance, where she was eventually taken back by her mother. He looks back down at the flower still in his hand, confused by the girl’s gestures and the reasons behind her offering up her flower without so much as an explanation. Once recalling how humans typically keep items offered by another, he placed the girl’s flower inside his pocket before returning to his stroll.
What a fool he was to have dismissed such a memory.
Such a common encounter was bound to be forgotten for someone who will live long past ordinary human lives. But, as the days came and went, the girl and the dragon crossed paths once more — this time, the girl was with her mother in a market, and upon seeing the man again, the girl rushed over to the man, leaving her mother’s arm, who was buying fish.
“Hey, mister!” The young girl calls out to the man while running to him. “I know… I know you…” she announced with sparkles shining in her eyes while her mother was just behind her.
“I am so sorry, young sir, she isn’t usually like this, please forgive her.” The girl’s mother pleaded with the man as she held her daughter back. “Thalia, go apologise to that young man. Calling out to someone like that is rude.” The mother scolded her daughter with a furrowed brow while pinching her daughter’s arm.
“... I’m sorry…” The girl muttered with her head hung low and her foot digging into the ground while her fingers fiddled with each other. A moment after her apology, the girl looks up once more — with the same sparkle in her eyes; ones that showed interest, determination, and curiosity. “ I know you. You’re a dragon, right?”

Hey 💌 I’m Saja — a mother trying to hold onto hope through days that feel impossibly heavy.
I know you probably see a lot online, but if you could take just a moment… I’d be so grateful.
A reblog of my pinned post could help our story reach someone who cares.
🌿 And if you’re in a place to give, even a small donation could bring comfort to my daughter and help us feel safe again.
@sajagz, thank you for listening.
Even gentle support creates strength.
From one heart to another — thank you 🤍

Synopsis: "No matter what sort of GOD I am, in this vessel, I am MORTAL."

One || Four || Five.

"Overseer..." You whisper with a hoarse and cracked voice as the blood vessels pop around your eyes while you strain them in anger hearing that damned title being uttered.
You hung your head back down to face them, your eyes tinted with golden blood as you stare at them with rage. "Say that again, and you'll get a taste of what the 'Overseer' can do." Your hoarse and wretched tone made the two on the other side of the bars take a step back.
Your eyes remain glaring at both Nahida and the Wanderer. After some time, you release the bars from your grasp and return to a lax state like before. "Good... Now, what else are you here for?" Your tone returned to its early cheery attitude like a robot getting its settings reset.
The two outside the bars step back, wary and trepidation on their feet from your uncanny and inhumane movements. "You... All those lives... every loop... you-" Nahida whispered as she tried to ease you enough to make you explain to her more only to be cut off with a glare that could split mountains like butter.
"Don't overstep your boundaries. The only reason I haven't snapped Teyvat to oblivion was because..." Your voice trails off, and your piercing gaze softens as you are reminded of when this world was once bright and colourful to you, how the grass and the wind felt like a breath of spring grazing your skin.
Wanderer notices your body softening, a moment of weakness compared to your eccentrically inhumane behaviour before, perhaps a chance to penetrate your cold exterior. But that plan was quickly put aside when you stood back up again. Although you were still a sulking figure, the aura you were emitting made you untouchable.
You heave a small sigh knowing the real reason why couldn't let go of this world aside from the joyful memories you made here. "... I am still human after all. If I destroy Teyvat, I will simply die along with it due to my mortality." Your soft whisper echoed across the dungeon as you stepped forward with your hand gently holding the bars of your cell.
"You merely caught a glance of the countless loops I've had. It doesn't hurt anymore, it's no different than waking up from yesterday and doing the same old routine." You spoke softly as you looked down on her, the space between had never felt so narrow as no one had ever wanted to hear you utter a word from your wretched existence as an imposter of their Divine Overseer.
"There's no point in helping me... In the many loops I've had, I've seen it all. From being an imposter, the Overseer, or simply an envoy of your Overseer... I died by the blade, against age, and illness. "No matter what sort of GOD I am, in this vessel, I am MORTAL."
Nahida and Wanderer eventually left the dungeon and met up with Zhongli who was impatiently waiting for their return — his brows furrowed with downturned lips — clearly dissatisfied with the young god holding up the imposter's execution with her interrogation. "Buer, I respect your place as an archon of the seven, but, why are you defending a traitor, an imposter who besmirches on our Divine Overseer's name!"
"No, they're not! They are the true Divine Overseer! And they have the means to prove it!" The Dendro Godd tries to defend your name only to be silenced when the sound of crackling lightning is heard flashing across the darkened sky before the Shogun makes her presence fill the air as the sound of her heels clacking the stone ground.
"Are you saying they are to be given a trial, Buer?"

I miss Home.
Synopsis: You miss someone special to you, someone very special to you. But, you don't have any memories of them to fill the emptiness you feel, only a void of the love you have for them. And the fact that Teyvat stole you from your world did not make the process of healing any better.
Warning: mentions of death, loss of someone close (not specified), depression (maybe), and isolation (I think), spoilers for the Natlan story quest.

You hear the news. They're gone. But tears did not fall nor did the thought cross your mind that someone you held dear to your heart, at least you know you once held close to your heart, has passed. Only then you see them lying inside the coffin did your heart begin to swell, tears running down your cheeks, and your heart cracking as the emotions of the time when you were once together begin to clench your heart.
You could only walk up to the coffin and whisper the regrets you had at your actions of forgetting and not cherishing the time you had together, leading to a crumbling and empty heart in your chest that was once their home.
You enter their room, even with their things stacked and toppling in their room, it never felt more bare. You could only rest on the foot of their bed as you try to wipe away the tears still running down your face, betraying the last bit of phlegmatic expression you had as wails of sorrow coat around you while mumbling small and meaningless apologies since it was too late until the silence overwhelms you enough for you to doze off.
As the sun peaks through the fluttering shade, flickering against your face, you could see the bright blue sky with faint clouds scattered across, and the floor felt warm and dusty. You rise from the ground and notice the place was no longer the room you fell asleep in, but an open landscape of bronze cliffs painted in colour bright.
"... where..."
Your voice but a mere murmur as the winds gusts though your hair. Your eyes were puffy from crying, the weight you feel chaining you to the ground, threatening to drag you into despair.
As you drop your knees to the ground, ignoring the mysterious change of landscape, a pair of footsteps start to draw near, yet you still shun it away, numb from the loss and emptiness from inside.
"Hello. Are you okay?" A young voice spoke to you, her tone soft and kind, making you turn to see who was talking.
As your gaze landed on the person behind the voice that spoke to you, your eyes widened to see a young girl you knew from a game known a Genshin Impact.
"... Kachina?" You whisper as you stood up in your feet to see the girl closer. You hand caressing her cheeks as your eyes scanned her from top to bottom. "What are you..."
As your voice trailed off, Kachina got a good look as you were eyeing her, but your puffy eyes and weak moves are what caught her attention. "...! Excuse me, but, you're not looking very well, would you like some water? Or some cookies?" The young child offers as she sat you down in her attempt to help.
The young girl then takes a handful of treats from her bag as well as a small mashak of water, offering to you with her brows furrowed and lips pursed from concern. "Please, take them."
She then leads you to a nearby tree for some shade against the heat of the sun. "What happened? Why are you here all alone? It's dangerous out here without any protection."
You only gave Kachina a small smile as you gently patted her head while she was talking. "It's nice to meet you... Kachina."
The girl's eyes widened for a split second after you said her name, it felt warm and... homey. "... I... How did you know my name?"
"... You're adorable... Kachina." You mumbled before pulling your hand back down, your gaze also faltering to the ground.
"...? What do you mean?" The young blonde asks as she tilts her head from your words, they are sudden and amiss. But looking at the person before her, their tired and puffy eyes, clear from crying themselves to sleep, and hoarse voice was clear that something happened to them.
"... It's nothing." You brush off as you look down on your lap where all the snacks and water the young blonde gave to you and start taking a bit out of one of the cookies. "Thank you for the food."
While you were eating your cookie, there was only silence between you and the young Kachina, accompanied with some noises from the tepetlisaurus nearby, and the soft rustle of the leaves in the tree.
After a long while of you eating then finally finishing your cookie, you take a sip of the water Kachina gave you before looking back at the girl herself. "Say... did something... big in Natlan happen recently?"
The unexpected question made the girl poo her head up, not thinking the mysterious person next to them would ask something like that after the odd interaction just before.
"Oh! Yes, there was a war against the abyss not too long ago. We suffered many losses, but we won, so, those who couldn't be saved by the Ode of Resurrection weren't in vain." The young girl exclaimed with a bright smile, but held a tinge melancholy, as she knew that there were many that could've survived, especially those she knew.
"... Did you also lose someone you knew?"
"I... I did..."
You then heave a small sigh as you turn back to the girl, remembering that your choices had affected the outcome of the war greatly, feeling somewhat responsible for the lives of Kachina's friends.
"... I hope you spent a lot of time with them, and made many memories for you to cherish."
Your words had hit the girl as she suddenly recalled the time she spent with her late friends. "... Oh... I- I did..."
Placing the cookies on a rock close to your side, you then sat on your knees as you held Kachina's hand with your eyes locked towards each other, your gaze kind and warm, yet flooded with sorrow.
"Kachina. Keep those memories close to your heart." You whisper softly as you guided the girl's hands to her chest. "Keep them close, and never let go. Think of them as a reminder that their memories, their existence wasn't just a fleeting moment, but an impact to many many people. Alright?"
"... Don't be like me..." You breathed softly as your hand wavered before falling down back to your lap. "Don't be a fool and believe memories can just be remade... you might never have that chance..."

It, in fact, did not go according to plan.
That short snippet of part 5 was chilling, you GOTTA expand on that! Or are you busy?
It's been collecting dust in my drafts like my other 15 WIPs, and I'm just brain-dead right now and have been hyper-fixating on my... delusions. But I made a promise and I plan to keep it... not like I ever go according to plan

The survey is now closed. I have compiled all the answers for the paper.
Thank you to everyone who has participated, your participation has been extremely helpful and I was able to pass something for my teacher.
Since I will be free next week, I will do my best to finish at least two of my WIPs as thanks.
You were at home as you cooked some dinner fit for five, one for you, and the rest for your roommates which most of them were out for work to pay for their part of necessities. So you open your phone to play some genshin to wait for the rice to cook, but a familiar flash blinds you making you drop your phone.
When the phone's light finally starts to fade, two archons were standing before you, not the ones that were already staying with you, but Furina and Mavuika. You drop playing genshin and mourn your phone's now cracked screen from dropping it and the part that you forgot to add a tempered glass only added ice water to the burn.

Pls answer this survey. I'm dying from having no balls to pass to my teacher. It's short and won't steal your data I promise.
