Girl idk how I found you but I’m so glad to find another coner of the payday community :) (used to run a payday OC askblog back in the weird blitz hayday the payday community had for a hot second there) so glad to see more people love the payday goobers as much as I do!! On the topic of headcannons (which I love your headcannons ive read btw) do you have any for my favorite Jacket? (His autistic swag is something my brain can not get over I’m sorry a silent guy who murders people sounds like someone I could totally be friends with /silly)

Headcanons:

Despite being the “quiet and intimidating one” he can easily be coaxed into any type of goofy shenanigans, and he’ll do it all while being completely stone faced the whole time

Insomniac, struggles with falling asleep at night, usually distracts himself with video games until he tires himself out

Has his own apartment but more often than not he stays at the safehouse at night, the others know he won’t cause much trouble and he can defend himself if anything were to happen

Despite not speaking using words, being the quietest heister and constantly having a blank expression, he is very expressive, all his tapes are carefully sorted and all his lines can say so much with so little words

When not in his Hangout space, he usually hangs out by Sydney’s Studio or Wolf’s Workshop who both talk to him a lot while they work, meanwhile he listens and watches them tinker away, sits at Jimmy’s Bar or watches Sokol practice from afar, fully knowing it irritates him, he finds it amusing

Checks his tape recorder’s batteries every single day, more than once, so making sure its batteries never run out in the middle of a mission. Some think that at this point it’s an obsession, others don’t think much of it, completely understanding his fear of losing his “voice”

if gordon freeman (freeman's mind) took the time to understand and examine gender stuff, gordon would come out using no pronouns. (not "i don't have pronouns" in the ignorant way but in the "you will not use pronouns to refer to me; you'll use my name or a title" way.) it's my firm belief that, as soon as gordon found out that *not doing that at all* was an option, gordon would *not do that at all* as hard as possible

We got some of the big indies today! Dead cells, Look Outside (definitely influenced by our friend), and outer wilds. Our family and us have to finish Split Fiction, which is amazing btw, and I have to get a little more into Ultrakill before I feel like we can start a new game tho, but I think Look Outside is next on the list.

Fun fact! I have never seen this specific list before, but Aldu, my most well known dragon character, has a lot of behaviors influenced by the animals I work with at my job!

-Sex of an offspring is based on weather and barometric pressure (geckos and Rainbow Boas (though less directly)).

-Aforementioned clicking of teeth to show aggression and plucking scales when anxious from this list.

-They use their wings as emotion indicators, specifically drawing from the deogoffins cockatoo that I work with. Flaring wings when excited or happy, tucking them close to the body in any defensive position.

-This is a specific quirk of one of the Cuban rock iguanas I work with, but Aldu shares the trait with her that they both can be held for a short amount of time before thrashing around and (often) gouging deep scratches into the limbs of whoever is holding them.

-This is more of a biology thing, but Aldu’s breathing system is also helped by their bones, which are hollow, which is taken from birds and dinosaurs.

Big fan of dragons and animals, if you couldn’t already tell.

fun behaviors to give dragons that aren't feline/canine based

cause as much as i love dragons purring and roaring i wish there was just more variety in how they would act

clacking their teeth together to show contentedness/happiness (budgies)

using tails as a defensive weapon in a whip like fashion (iguana)

twitching to express that they're not a threat to members of their species (hognose snake)

feeling calm when eyes are hooded/covered (birds of prey)

head bobbing as a threat display (anoles/bearded dragons)

flattening neck or sides to appear bigger (snakes/lizards)

mantling over food to protect it from hatchmates (birds of prey)

wiggling neck as a courting maneuver (budgies)

audibly grinding teeth as a warning (macaques)

maintained eye contact as a challenge (gorillas)

pounding wings against sides as a threat (gorillas)

slapping other dragons with their claws when their personal bubble is invaded (seals)

hoards used as a site to impress mates (birds of paradise)

snorting when undergoing heightened stress (horses)

making repeated loud noises with surroundings to establish territory (woodpeckers)

loud constant arguments with other dragons when roosting (bats)

building lairs that cause a domino effect of change in the land around them (beavers)

slapping their tails against the ground/water as a warning (beavers)

wiggling tail tip to attract prey (various animals)

wiggling tail tip as a warning (snakes)

plucking or scraping off scales as a sign of stress (parrots)

raising spines/frills as a response to danger and carrying on with their usual business as they believe they're protected (lionfish)

and im not saying canine and feline behaviors are wrong or bad to give a dragon (people wouldn't write dragons with those behaviors if they weren't fun in the first place!) but i feel for creatures that are mythological giant winged lizards that you can do more and get experimental with it. often the more unfamiliar behavior the more dragony the dragon feels
