There's something special about someone seeing the handsomeness in Harry. In calling him sweetie. In making sure he's appreciated.
Lena may not be perfect, but I do think she tries, and that means a lot, in DE's world and ours.

Thinking about our last conversation with Lena.
Major Disco Elysium spoilers ahead.
"'Please don't stuck on a dream,'" she tells us, because at this point, she's convinced. Cryptids aren't real. Her husband's chasing a pipe dream. Her love's based on a lie.
... Right?
She thanks us for what we did for Morell and Gary.
She says this even though she thinks it was...
a waste of time, according to our intellect;
a dream, according to our gut feeling;
or maybe even a lie, according to our flair for the dramatic.
According to her, it's a fool's hope.
Except... is it really?

God. I love this game.
And I love it even more for allowing us to go to her so we can tell her. It’s not foolish, or a lie, or a dream or waste of time.
It is real. It is worth it. It is a miracle.

Watching Jamrock Hobo's video about the mobile version of DE, and honestly? Some of the art is kind of beautiful. Like… it kills me that so many genuinely talented people ended up here.

I know there are a lot of reasons to hate on the mobile port of DE, but also, I am so in love with Klaasje Amandou.
Like… I understand why our skills lose it a little around her. I get it. I really do.

My favorite things that managed to still manage to happen, even in Disco Elysium's alternate universe:
DMX and "Where The Hood At?"
Whitney Houston and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody"
Britney Spears and "Till The World Ends"
Scooter and "Jumping All over the World"
Scooter and "Army of Hardcore"
And, of course, "your mother" jokes.

I really feel like Harry and Joyce are more similar than they seem.
Harry doesn't think so at first.

But they're both from the disco times.
They're both nostalgic.
She's curious and talkative, just like us (and cockatoos).
She goes by a nickname. Something shorter. Something maybe just a little less meaningful.
She isn't always proud of the person she is.
She's worldlier and more educated than people might think at first (though I think people really underestimate us, as opposed to a posh rich woman like Joyce.)
She's a little "insane."
But at the end of the day, she's still human.
I don't know if I like Joyce. But I like that she's there. I like that she anchors us. No pun intended.

I think it's amazing how basically everyone in Disco Elysium can be interpreted as our double/foil:
(DE spoilers under the cut)
The Harry the Washerwoman knows
The Hanged Man
The Man on the Boardwalk
Then, more generally:
Klaasje, our gender-swapped counterpart (partying, substances, "You *do* know how it is")
The Pigs (abandonment, mental illness, obsession with the RCM)
Cuno (family, "getting saved" by the RCM)
Cunoesse (dark past, murder)
Joyce (nostalgia, disco, being a "monster")
The Deserter (our possible descent into fascism/misogyny)
The Insulindian Phasmid (hope)
I'm sure I'm missing some, but those are the ones that most stick out to me.
