She/her bisexual, trans girl, social democrat. The not so original gay leftist. And now, an unabridged rant about how all clothing should have pockets:
Men's clothing has always represented a small but not insignificant power imbalance in the form of pockets. The style and convenience of these are unmatched and deliberately make life extremely easier by literally having small amounts of storage at any time. Unfortunately this results in a power imbalance as clothing without pockets is typically clothing marketed and produced for women. This lack of pockets, as well as being deliberately antagonistic to women by depriving them of the most common form of convenience in clothing in modern society, it also forces women to buy accessories such as handbags, further increasing the disproportionality of power. This deprives women of further funds, which is far more impactful for them due to the gender pay gap (which is real, I will not argue on this), and results in a definitively decreased quality of life. Of course, this has also dramatically increased the worth of women's clothing outside this norm, including pockets, sort of commodifying convenience as something that is a bonus, rather than a basic addition that should be included in all clothing.
Thank you for reading this.
My most controversial opinion is that the term homophobia isn’t particularly applicable to people who are against homosexual relationships, because it implies that they’re afraid of the gays, while they might either be just disgusted or just can’t agree with the concept 🤷
Ohhh so you guys aren't homophobic, you're simply disgusted by their existence and way of living! And here I thought you were just bigots, silly me! Fucking moron.
As an occasional writer I have finally decided to take the plunge and technically publish something. So without further ado I am announcing the release of the prologue of my new serialised writing shonen battle manga style thing
Death & Taxes
(With the ampersand)
Death & Taxes follows a group of reapers working in the Department of Death, an office working in a bureaucracy fuelled celestial world.
Death & Taxes will be publish chapter by chapter on ao3 (as I couldn’t find a better place and I had an account already.) and will almost certainly always be freely accessible in its original form.
Death & Taxes features:
An original world and power system
A story and characters inspired by the tropes and style of shonen battle manga
(Hopefully) semi regular updates of chapters
References to music, philosophy, history, theology and other stuff fuelled by reference desiring jjba fuelled brain
Queer rep (not in the prologue but in the larger story)
Death & Taxes chapter 0 can be read on ao3 now
(Also shout out to my friend TheArchitects as she proofread this and also listens to me ramble about my ideas)
A strange alien doctor stands near the unconscious body of Padme Amidala. “It appears she has lost the will to live.” A older man with a limp hobbles closer with the aid of a cane. “That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard,” says Dr. Gregory House.
I reckon that one day ryuji will read a copy of The Second Sex before he falls down a rabbit hole of feminist philosophy which culminates in him making a public twitter post which opens with
((The ability to appreciate and evaluate human aesthetic is not determined by your sexuality))
