I submit to the jury Geats Boost MK III. Showed up for one fight and then was immediately replaced by Geats IX.
The form has basically the same powers as Geats IX, only a more destructive moveset. But where IX destroys to recreate the world in Ace’s image, MK III only destroys. Its debut literally erases one of the rules of the Desire Royale/DGP. But beyond that, it’s shelved.
It would’ve been nice to see the show explore how Ace and other characters would be affected by MK III’s powers, but at the time, the show was focused on speed running Ace’s ascent to godhood.
Also, not sure if you’d count this, but the Revice movie form, Kamen Rider Igarashi, is just kinda… there. Sort of the same problems you pointed out Mighty Creator having.
no idea how much traction this will get BUT
lets play a game
what is the most pathetic upgrade form?
just post what is the most useless upgrade form in rider
also not worst, useless
the thing that you look and think "damn thats a waste of a form" for any reason
there is a lot of gray areas here, but what i mean is "any non standard form (base form or side form)"
so using gavv as an example:
poppingummy, zakuzakuchips, fuwamallow, chocodan, gurucan and bushel are all not eligible since they are standard
caking, blizzardsorbet, over and master mode are all elegible since they are upgrades
got it memorized?
good cause im technically spoiling things now
Mighty creator VRX
Tumblr media
there is a bit of an argument if this counts as an upgrade form or not, but to me it does
listen i like movie exclusive forms more than most
but this things does NOTHING
well, it has cool power
it also has a single goddamn fight
and its not even the final one
this thing is worthless, its the biggest "fucker in a suit said we need a movie form" that exists
in a world with Rabbit Dragon and Miracle Gotchard you give me this thing come the fuck on
also special mention to rabbit tank sparkling
its a cool form that didnt do anything cause it was introduced WAY too close to the hazard trigger

So.
I had a lot of ideas of what to post today. I have a Hero of Bombs comic in the queue, I had the thought of giving an update on DxP REWRITE progress, etc.
But well. Heck.
Maybe it could help someone else out there.
I never really talked about this much & with very few people (so yeah - Tumblr exclusive since I don’t think anyone I know personally is on here, & I’m not ready for that convo lol). I’d usually point to Cardcaptor Sakura blushing over people regardless of gender, & say “oh yeah, that’s me” 🌸
Part of me feels like it doesn’t count though - like, is it just attraction or does it have to fit the whole dictionary description? Another part of me doesn’t really feel like it matters so much - I’m me & I love Ikrit. If he came in just about any other package or pronoun, I’d still love him. Why put a label on it? IDK.
Either way. Happy Pride Month. To anyone else questioning. 🌦️🌈

On one hand, I really enjoyed the irony of Shouma's fight with Rango - an executive of the Stomach company being demoted to a lower station, practically making him another part-timer in status, and therefore he's treated just like another MOTW threat. Granted, he's strong enough to necessitate Shouma using Master Gavv for the first time, but the two-episode structure of his appearance and defeat really hammer home how far he's fallen.
On the other hand, it doesn't feel as rewarding as a viewer. Rango was introduced as the head of a human trafficking business; you'd think he would have a few scenes sometime before his monster form debuted showcasing how evil he is, but we didn't really get that until he had been demoted. Sheeta had been eliminated, Jeep was off getting married, Glotta and Nylev were at least still prominent in the plot as Stomach Inc.'s enforcer and researcher respectively, and Bouche was dead.
Junko Komura villains tend to either not really get involved in the plot at large until they are prompted to do so, or they are introduced and then eliminated. For instance, LuPat's Zamigo was underutilized as an antagonist, and Zyuohger's Ginis was BARELY present until the end. In Gavv itself, the guy who became Bitter Gavv after Suga's death barely made an impact aside from removing Hanto's Frappe form. Heck, even Suga himself wasn't given much to do as a Rider since he was killed in the episode after Bake's debut.
I get that the actor might not have been as available as the rest of the cast, but still, it would have been more satisfying to see the bad guy do bad guy things.

How is it that Sentai did something cooler with MMPR/Zyuranger in a single shot than Hasbro has done in the past 6 years

With the reveal that Suga was using the Valenbuster as a prototype for his own Rider System (who could've seen this coming?), it makes me appreciate Junko Komura's skill with writing villain/opposing characters.
None of Shouma's siblings have shown any sign of doing a heel-face turn, and as much as it would be interesting to have seen Sheeta and Jeep on the run from the others, keeping Jeep as a villain really sells the conflict between the Riders and the Granutes. For Komura's earlier toku works, like Zyuohger and LuPat, none of the villainous forces had any characters set up to switch sides. Bang Ray (fantastic villain) and Zamigo (underutilized but still entertaining) were both impactful as full villains, and neither the Deathgaliens nor the Ganglars felt that they could really be redeemed.
We did end up with some side-switchers in Misao/The World and currently with Lakia, but they were never established to be fully "evil", the former having been brainwashed and the latter acting like an addict until it didn't suit him.
With how Gavv is going, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends with Shouma and Dente as the only members of the Stomach family left.

Aside from being used as the outro to the first episode, I don’t think Got Boost? has been used as an insert theme. Am I wrong?

I mean, if you exert yourself and sweat enough, your side-part is going to fall down and undo itself. The man’s stressed enough as it is.
I almost didn’t recognize him…

Really enjoyed Gavv Blizzard Sorbei’s debut. I think it’s the first Reiwa super form that wasn’t “now I can punch harder!” and more of a magic knight kinda thing.
The theatre major in me also wanted to take note of the tone of how our three main Riders transform. Yes, I am over analyzing how they say “Henshin” what do you want.
Shouma’s tone sounds very driven, but also even. He’s treating his Rider appearance as just a part of himself, since it could be the closest thing we have to his own Granute form unless proven otherwise.
Hanto’s just fuckin’ pissed. Being a Rider is his mission, his purpose, since he can’t save his mentor, so he’s going all in for revenge. And with the Chocold Gochizo, it’s amped up even further.
Lakia’s tone is dull, as if he couldn’t care less that he’s a Rider. It’s just a job to him.
