Belle Junna - Bond Stories

Video here, translation below the cut!
A Valued Fatigue Recovery Method
Michiru: Okay, that's enough. Junna: Haah, we're not there yet. The challenges are high. Nana: Yeah... There's still room for improvement in our dance scene. Junna: Even though we need both our roles and our dance to be perfect before returning to Seisho... Junna: (Nana will be fine. The problem is me...) Nana: Let's try it again, Junna-chan. Junna: Yeah, okay...!
Junna: Huff, huff, it's not working out well...! Nana: We're almost there though... Want to try again? Junna: No, you said you wanted to practice your acting after this, didn't you? The direction of the Beast has changed, so there's a lot of adjustments to be made. Nana: Junna-chan... Thank you. Junna: Same here, thanks for sticking with me until now. I'll put in a bit more overtime here and do some special training.
Junna: Huff, huff, huff... No good, it's not coming together... Mei Fan: Hoshimi-san, excuse me! Junna: Aah, Mei Fan-san. You want to use the training room, right? Sorry for hogging it this whole time. Mei Fan: No, it's fine. If you don't mind, I was thinking I'd join you. Junna: Eh...? Mei Fan: In a social dance, they say height difference is important, right? Mei Fan: I can't compare to Daiba-san, but I'm the tallest Edel after Akira-san. I think I could be helpful! Junna: ...Thank you, Mei Fan-san. I'll accept your offer. Mei Fan: Don't mention it! I'm looking forward to working with you!
Mei Fan: Wouldn't it be better to turn more quickly there? Junna: True... How's this? Mei Fan: Hmm, the timing's a bit different than your previous steps. Junna: I'm sorry! Let me try again! Mei Fan: Understood. Then... Ah! Junna: ...? Mei Fan: Aah! I've been thoughtless! You were already practicing for hours before we started, weren't you!? Mei Fan: You must be tired! Let's leave it here for today. Junna: I'm fine. This is about how much I always practice. Mei Fan: As expected... But, any longer and we'll feel it tomorrow. ---Oh, I know! Mei Fan: Hoshimi-san, please lie face-down. Junna: Face-down? Eh? Mei Fan: Go on, go on! Junna: Eh? Er...um, is this okay...? Mei Fan: Yes, I'll apply a bit of pressure and---Okay! Let's begin! Junna: !? ...Ah, owowow! What--!? Mei Fan: This is the Fatigue Recovery Liu-style Massage! It's quite popular with all the Edels. Mei Fan: It'll hurt a little, but you'll feel no fatigue come tomorrow. Please bear with it. Junna: Th-thanks... Uwah, OWWW!! That's not just 'a little'...! UWAAAAAH!
Yachiyo: Aah, sounds like Junna-san's receiving her massage baptism... My condolences. Shiori: S-Seems like it... Yachiyo: It all started with Akira-senpai saying, "Mei Fan, do you know any massages from back home? I've heard their varied effects are what make them one of China's three great remedies." Yachiyo: And then Mei Fan became interested and went and taught herself something completely unrelated. Akira: ...They're effective, so it's fine. Michiru: In that case, Aki--- Akira: I'm not feeling fatigued. Michiru: Hm~m. Yachiyo: Hu~h. Junna: NGYAAAAH!! Shiori: Hoshimi-san, hang in there...!
A Massage Reward
Mei Fan: It's finally time for Hoshimi-san and the others' performance. Michiru: Mei Fan, you joined her in her dance lesson until the end, right? What happened with the part she was having trouble with? Mei Fan: To be honest, she was still looking for a solution to the problem when our practice came to an end... Mei Fan: It'll be fine, though. If it's Hoshimi-san, she'll surely make it a success. Yachiyo: Isn't that just what you're hoping for? Mei Fan: No, it's not just a hope. It's my objective judgement. Shiori: Everyone, it looks like the assembly hall is that way...! Akira: ......
Audience: Ahahahaha! Mei Fan: (The unexpected comedy has the audience excited... That should act as a boost rather than pressure.) Belle: "Come, tonight let's dance together, Beast-chan♪" Beast: "Yeah. I'm so happy right now...I mean, I get to dance with you, after all!" Mei Fan: (It went well until now, but next is the problem part. She kept making mistakes during practice, but...) Mei Fan: (...Now she should be okay!) Belle: "Come to my arms!" Mei Fan: (She did it!)
Junna: Huff, huff, huff... We did it...! Nana: Even in the wing of the stage, you can hear the applause and cheers...! Karen: You did really great, Junjun! Kaoruko: She's right. The acting was great, though the dancing was a bit... Futaba: It's fine, it was a success. Good job, Hoshimi. Junna: Thank you... This really is the best I've done until now.
Mei Fan: Great work! You both were wonderful. Nana: Oh, Mei Fan-chan. So you came. Junna: Thank you! I managed to perfect that part thanks to your instruction. Mei Fan: No. That was nothing other than your own skill! Mei Fan: And despite the strict practice you went through, you finished in flawless condition...! Mei Fan: That's Hoshimi-san for you, supporting even the top of Seisho on your shoulders! Junna: No, no, you overestimate me. Besides, my condition today was thanks to your Liu-style Massage! Mei Fan: ...!! Thank you so much! Kaoruko: Liu-style Massage? What's that? Junna: Right... Hanayagi-san, you're tired from today's performance too, right? How about we make your fatigue go away? Kaoruko: Ooh, that'd be nice. Junna: You'll do the honors, right, Mei Fan-san? Mei Fan: Yes, gladly! Please lie down here. Futaba: Oi, you sure? I have a funny feeling about this... Kaoruko: NGYAAAAAAH! ......Oh, this is kinda nice though.

Perseus Akira - Bond Stories

Videos: Part 1, Part 2
Translations below the cut!
Perseus and Akira's Pride
Michiru: Hmm, should we invest a bit more of the budget into costumes? I'd like the stage setting to be elaborate too, though... Quite the luxurious problem to have, I guess. Michiru: Next is the scenario... Well, for Akira, it'll probably be the rescue of Andromeda. Akira: Michiru, you called? Michiru: Ah, I've been waiting for you, Akira♪ Michiru: We're performing "The Myth of Perseus" this time, so the lead role is going to you. Akira: That was a fast decision. Production of the script hasn't even begun yet. Michiru: Right, but for this cast, it's already been decided. Michiru: You've been holding up the stage from the sidelines recently, but I think it's about time we show everyone Akira as the King--as Frau Platin. Michiru: You shine brightest when you're the center of the stage, after all. Akira: ...Understood. I'll gratefully accept the Perseus role. Akira: What do you plan to do about the rest of the cast? Michiru: We'll hold an audition within the Edels depending on how the script turns out. Michiru: The others will announce their candidacy, so when someone claims their desired role, I'd like you to be the judge. Akira: Understood. Michiru: Also! I was told that we can give lots of opinions on the script and direction of the play this time. Akira: Hoh. A chance for you to show your skills. Michiru: Hey, why are you saying that like it's someone else's problem? You have to give your proper opinion as the lead role, too. Akira: Of course. For the time being, we'll focus on the content of the play, I suppose. It still hasn't been decided what part we'll be starring in, correct? Michiru: Right. The myth of Perseus is composed of a large, three-part tale... Michiru: Looking at each part close up, which one do you think you'd shine brightest as Perseus in? Akira: A three-part tale, huh. The first is an adventure following his birth to the defeat of Medusa... Akira: The next is his rescue of the captured Andromeda and his marriage to her thereafter. The final part is the tale of his time as King of Mycenae. Michiru: Yeah. I guess you could say the defeat of Medusa is action, the rescue of Andromeda is romance, and his tale as the King of Mycenae is historical. Akira: If it were me, I'd choose the defeat of Medusa. Michiru: Huh, I thought you'd say the rescue of Andromeda would be best for an opera. Akira: The defeat of Medusa has become synonymous with Perseus, who's spoken of first even among the tales of the seven great heroes of Greece. Akira: Therefore, I thought it would be a fitting performance for me, as someone walking the King's path. On top of that, there's something I'd like to challenge myself with using the defeat of Medusa. Michiru: Wow, it's rare for you to use a word like challenge. Let's hear it, then. Akira: When you played Heracles in "The 12 Labors of Heracles" there was a scene in which you battled the snake monster, Hydra, correct? Akira: Watching that life or death struggle awakened an emotion in me I can't describe. Michiru: ...! Michiru: Well, if I couldn't do at least that, I wouldn't have been fit for the lead. Akira: Indeed. It was a fine performance befitting the Frau Saphir name. Akira: Furthermore, Perseus is Heracles great-grandfather. Akira: To peform a life or death struggle surpassing Heracles's, as one who shares his lineage. That's my challenge as Frau Platin. Michiru: ...I see, so that's what you mean. Michiru: Then, be sure to say you want the defeat of Medusa to be the main part of the Myth of Perseus, okay? Akira: Right. Is that okay with you, though? You must have plenty of ideas, correct? Michiru: Well, yeah. But, it's fine. What's most important is that you shine the brightest as Perseus. Michiru: I'm excited to see what kind of performance you'll show me♪ Akira: I'll consider those words as encouragement from the one who played Heracles. Akira: ---Be sure to burn it into your eyes. My performance of a life or death struggle with Medusa and my gallant form as I hold her head aloft in Perseus's glory.
Respective Monster Interpretations
Akira: "Forged by Hephaestus, god of blacksmiths--the golden sickle, Harpe! With this divine blade that can defeat even immortals, I'll have your head!" Akira: "---The battle's already decided. You ugly snake-headed monster, why don't you surrender your life already?" Mei Fan: "Because you're holding that shield...! A symbol of that hateful Athena!" Akira: "Precisely. This shield is the golden aegis capable of repelling your dreadful gaze. But why do you hate Athena so?!" Mei Fan: "She stood in the way of my love! And if that wasn't enough, she turned my beloved hair into snakes and confined me to this island!" Mei Fan: "I won't let someone sent by her take my head so easily! I'll return you to her as a stone statue of your last moment of life!" Akira: "The one who'll be unmoving stone is you! Come---!"
Mei Fan: Akira-san, thank you for letting me join you! When I saw you practicing, my body just moved on its own... Akira: It's fine. Did you need something of me? Mei Fan: Yes. I've thought it over and decided to announce my candidacy for the Medusa role in the 'Myth of Perseus'! Akira: Let me hear your reason. Mei Fan: Yes! In the 'Beauty and the Beast', I played Belle's older brother, the villain to Akira-san's Beast... Mei Fan: So, this time, I thought I could use that experience for the role of Medusa, burdened with a sorrowful past, and further broaden the scope of my acting! Akira: Very well. Akira: With your announcement, we now have two candidates for the Medusa role. Therefore, we'll be holding an audition. Mei Fan: So there's another candidate other than me, after all. Is it Michiru-san? Akira: It's Yachiyo. She came to announce it just a while ago. Mei Fan: That's unexpected! What was her reason for doing so? Akira: She wanted a challenge, having not played the part of a villain directly opposing the lead until now. Mei Fan: Then Yachiyo is my rival this time! Akira: I'll contact you later with the time and date. For now, be diligent in your preparations. Mei Fan: Yes! Thank you very much! Then, if you'll excuse me! Akira: ...The Medusa Yachiyo expressed was deeply grieving. Mei Fan: ...! Akira: She conveyed someone seeped in a bitter past, who had lost love and then been turned hideous and forcibly confined for years. Akira: In contrast, your Medusa is fiercely resentful. Mei Fan: Fiercely resentful? Akira: You cursed Athena, and with no outlet for that anger, you threw it all at Perseus. Akira: An appropriate anger to cause the negotiations to unfold into a life or death struggle, I would say. Mei Fan: I'm honored! Akira: But neither you nor she has the correct interpretation to make the performance perfect yet. Make your interpretation unshakable and attend the audition in flawless condition. Mei Fan: Yes...! Mei Fan: Oh, can I tell Yachiyo about our differences in acting? Akira: Of course. You should compete with Yachiyo to create an even better performance. Mei Fan: Yes! A resentful Medusa or a grieving Medusa, it'll be a competition to see who the most suitable partner for Akira-san is! Mei Fan: And I'll definitely win the Medusa role, showing you I can block your path as Perseus's greatest obstacle! Mei Fan: Well then, I'll take my leave now! Akira: ...Hmph, the greatest obstacle, huh? Akira: I'll look forward to it. It was because that obstacle was so great that Perseus gained his status as a hero, after all.

Kungfu Star Mei Fan - Bond Stories

Videos: Part 1, Part 2
Translation below the cut!
Lacking Kungfu
Mei Fan: "Hah! Yah, Taaaah!" Mei Fan: "Fufu. It's not over yet! Yah! Hah!" Mei Fan: (Create a pause here and...) Mei Fan: "---Ataaaah!!" Mei Fan: ......... Mei Fan: (...Phew. Variation in movement isn't enough. My gestures should emphasize speed above all else.) Mei Fan: (What I'm going for on stage isn't outstanding martial arts, but movements that will capture the audience...) Mei Fan: (In order to get a little closer to that ideal, all I can do is train! Okay, one more time...!) Yachiyo: Here's a towel for you, Mei Fan~ Mei Fan: Wah...! Yachiyo! When did you come in...!? Yachiyo: Just a little while ago~ You were concentrating so I didn't call out, but don't you think it's time for a break? Mei Fan: Ah... This much time has passed already? Thanks for calling out to me. Yachiyo: Don't mention it~ Yachiyo: Your action is much more polished now than in your previous practice~ That's our Mei Fan♪ Mei Fan: Thank you very much! There are parts that are still inadequate, but I'll refine the movements even more from here on! Mei Fan: I will be playing the next lead role, after all! Mei Fan: It's a performance made just for us first-years, so we have to show the senpai what we're made of! Mei Fan: I was allowed to stand at the center of it. I'll be sure to perform with all my might! Yachiyo: It's just like you to be motivated by that rather than getting nervous over it~♪ Mei Fan: It's because I'll have you at my side as the heroine. That alone is really reassuring! Mei Fan: The dance you demonstrated in practice yesterday... Your supple movements and bewitching allure were splendid. Yachiyo: Ahahaha. Wanzhen is the best dancing girl in town, after all. Yachiyo: But, even though I can do a lot with dancing, it's not really fitting well with the action scene. Mei Fan: Your action scene... You mean the fight in front of the theater? Yachiyo: That's it. It's one of the center stage highlights of the play, so don't we want to make it a more impressive scene? Mei Fan: True, that's where Wanzhen and the character I play, Xin Hui, form a united front. It's an important act that progresses the story a great deal. Yachiyo: Exactly. So, could you take a look at my movements, too? I'd like a little advice. Mei Fan: I don't mind. There's just something from earlier I'd like to review first. Right now, my kungfu is lacking. Yachiyo: ? What do you mean? Mei Fan: Ah, now that I think of it, that's not an expression here. Mei Fan: Kungfu is a Chinese martial arts term meaning 'training' and 'effort'. Mei Fan: So saying you're lacking kungfu means you're lacking in training. Yachiyo: Hmm~ Training and effort, huh. Yachiyo: ...Now that you mention it, didn't you do martial arts back home? Mei Fan: Yes. I took lessons from childhood as a means of building stamina. That's also when I was taught the meaning of kungfu. Mei Fan: Even though my goal in learning martial arts was not to become stronger but to purely train my body and mind, I still feel like I learned many important things from it. Mei Fan: "Your time spent training will then become your true strength."---I think those words from my teacher can be applied to acting as well. Mei Fan: That's why as a student of Siegfeld, and as Frau Rubin, I must continue my constant endeavor to aim even higher. Yachiyo: I see~ In that case, I shouldn't get in the way of your practice, huh? Mei Fan: Ah, no! That's not what I meant to say...! Yachiyo: Ahaha, I know you didn't. Yachiyo: I'll wait here until you figure things out, so don't mind me and continue your practice. Mei Fan: Okay! Just wait a bit longer then! Yachiyo: Fufu... I can't afford to just wait here spacing out, can I? Yachiyo: Until Mei Fan's done with her practice, I guess I'll pile up my own kungfu♪
Kungfucha
Shiori: U-Um, Mei Fan-senpai... I'm looking forward to today... Mei Fan: Same here! To think you'd show interest in the tea ceremonies of my hometown! Mei Fan: The 'kungfucha' I'm fond of was developed as a method of brewing oolong tea. Mei Fan: It's primarily enjoyed for it's scent, but it should suit the tastes of even a black tea enthusiast like you. Shiori: The wonderful thing about tea is being able to enjoy not just the flavor but the scent as well. Shiori: I'm excited to see how it differs from the usual oolong tea we drink. Mei Fan: Fufu. I'll start by introducing the teaware, then. This is called a 'zisha hu'. Shiori: It looks similar to a teapot...but it's small and cute. Shiori: It's really glossy too, how beautiful. Mei Fan: You zeroed in on its strong point! Mei Fan: As the 'zisha hu' is used repeatedly, the oils in the tea leaves soak into it, creating it's unique luster. Mei Fan: The process of using one like this over a long period of time until it becomes beautiful is called 'yang hu'. Shiori: Yang hu... It does look similar to a teapot, but they're definitely different. Mei Fan: Another effect of 'yang hu' is that the soaked in flavor of the tea leaves helps brew an even more delicious tea. Mei Fan: That's why it's standard to use one type of tea leaf for a single 'zisha hu'. Shiori: Ah... If you change the leaves, the scent and flavor will mix together...! Shiori: 'Kungfucha' is so profound...! Mei Fan: That's right! Okay, moving on to today's main program. I'd like to begin brewing the tea, but... Mei Fan: First we heat the 'zisha hu' with hot water like so... Shiori: To avoid reducing the temperature of the tea? Mei Fan: There's that too, of course. It will also make any temperature differences in the teaware clear. Shiori: Hm-hm, I see. Then, heating the outside of the pot earlier was also...? Mei Fan: For the same reason. It's all so that the outside and the inside expand at the same rate. Mei Fan: Once all the teaware is heated, we stop the hot water a moment to insert the tea leaves. And then---! Mei Fan: We pour the boiling water from high above...! Yes, until it's almost overflowing....!! Shiori: P-Pouring that vigorously from so high up... But why is it not splashing all over...!? Mei Fan: Do you want to know? The reason is...your way of thinking. Shiori: Way of...thinking? Mei Fan: Even if you harbor strong feelings towards the person you're entertaining, face the tea with your heart as calm as a water's surface... Mei Fan: Shiori, remember this well. The way of tea requires passion and the calmness to tame it. Any tremor in your heart will cause the tea to become impure! Shiori: Mei Fan-senpai... No, Mei Fan-shisho! Please teach me more about the profundity of tea...! Mei Fan: Very well. If that is what you wish. Mei Fan: However! My teachings are strict. Can you follow them? Shiori: I'll do my best...! Mei Fan: Understood. We'll start at the beginner's level, then. Alright, here we go...!

"The Dying King and the Four Knights" - Main Story #8, Part 6 - A Summary
Videos: First Half, Second Half
Continuing from the last installment, here’s the final part!
The Chancellor informs the King that here at the ends of the northern ice floes is the land of the dead, Valhalla, and the King realizes that he indeed died on that day. He says he had forgotten it all. The passion to make the kingdom a better place. The affection to think of the lives of it's people. He had just been clinging to his old ways, without listening to the advice of those wiser than him and refusing to the see the potential of the kingdom's young and those from outside it. He had become fixated on power, ruling tyrannically through heavy taxation. And that had angered the people and the knights, resulting in the rebellion. He says he remembers it now, thanks to retrieving all the gems. The flames that engulfed the throne that day...and the impact of the sword piercing his chest. All of it.
He calls himself foolish, having just said how thankful he was to those who entrusted the gems to him. "It seems it's already too late to convey that gratitude..." The Chancellor says that may be so, but he was able to retrieve them. The passion of the General, the affection of the Marquis, the potential of the Young Knight, the wisdom of an old friend. The King chuckles and says the Chancellor's always leading him down the right path. The Chancellor says those words are more than he deserves. The King says "...I'm grateful, my old friend."
Akira then breaks character to also thank whoever it was that prepared this stage. It allowed her to remember her reason for standing on the King's Stage, after all. She says it's time to close the curtain. If those at Seisho were able to change the ending of their play, then they, too, will create their ideal tale. They'll continue acting until the end, following the King's Path and Siegfeld's history and tradition. Michiru agrees and Akira calls the other Edels to the stage. They appear and all of them recite their pledges from the previous parts. Akira defeats the final Korosu and declares herself Position Zero, and they continue acting out the rest of the play---
The King says it's almost time for them to part and asks the Chancellor to give the crown to the Young Knight. To his son---the one who killed him, put a stop to his tyranny, and thus saved him. And also to tell him to find his own gems. Tell him that 'to the living King, the rising curtain is a curse; to the dying King, the falling curtain is a blessing'.
"As you wish... I will certainly do so, Your Majesty." "It's no longer 'Your Majesty'. Merely a request from a friend... Johann Saphir." "...Understood. My friend, Franz Platin."
"Neither the crown nor throne can be taken to Valhalla. The only thing to pass on from this life today is a mere man. They were able to be entrusted to another. If there can be said to be any significance behind this tale existing it is that---"
"I was...the King."
The curtains fall and the first half ends with Elle informing the 'audience' that that was the end of today's play and to please check their belongings as they leave.
The second half begins with Michiru welcoming the others back but then correcting herself and telling them they did well on the performance instead. Akira says she's glad they were able to safely return to the stage. Shiori says it was all thanks to Akira and Michiru. Mei Fan asks if they had been brought to the stage of Elysion's Throne Chapter and Yachiyo says she had the sense that she was acting the whole time but at some point ceased to realize it. Akira says isn't that a Stage Girl's ultimate goal, in a way? Yachiyo says that might be true but that they're Edels. Shiori says it needs to be all five of them on stage. Michiru and Akira both agree and Akira says, with this, it's all over.
Elle appears and says yes, they've rid the play of the Korosu and protected Elysion through the Re LIVE. Mei Fan is surprised to see Elle and Shiori is creeped out by Andrew, asking if he's wearing a costume. He says he's not, he's just the super adorable Andrew~ Mei Fan asks Michiru why he seems familiar and she reminds her of the shop they went to that one time, but Mei Fan's confused as to why he's here and Michiru says why indeed?
Akira is surprised that the Korosu's encroachment would reach even Elysion. She says it seems it's true what Seisho had said, that the rate at which plays are being erased is expanding. Michiru says even the Throne Chapter was almost erased. Akira asks Elle if they know the cause. Elle says even they don't know where the Korosu came from or why they're erasing plays. Mei Fan gets fired up and says regardless of the cause they can't let it continue to happen! Elle says she feels the same...but that she herself can't stand on stage. She asks to borrow their power as Stage Girls.
Michiru is curious and says Elle knows an awful lot despite not being able to stand on stage. Andrew says despite that, she's been studying a lot. Michiru wonders exactly what she's studying. She then goes off on Andrew asking just what his role in all this is? The mascot character? A supporting character? He reiterates that he's just the super adorable Andrew~ Mei Fan tells him he's not adorable at all, the balance of his design is off-putting, the color usage is unclear, not to mention his dead-looking eyes. Akira tells Mei Fan she shouldn't put the truth so plainly. Mei Fan apologizes and says she couldn't help it. Andrew sighs and says they just can't see it.
Andrew: An uptight school that does nothing but study theater wouldn't understand cuteness~ Michiru: No, I think we understand it well enough. Shiori's, for example. Shiori: E-Eeh!?
Michiru says even if it meant not understanding cuteness, she'd rather spend her time studying theater. After all, they're Stage Girls born for the stage. Yachiyo agrees and says cuteness isn't really needed for that. Andrew grumbles and tells them they're a different kind of troublesome than that Kyoto woman. Akira chuckles and says very well. They'll lend them their power to help protect the plays. There's no reason for them to refuse. She says that if Elysion and the Edels she relies on disappeared she'd be troubled. Michiru agrees and Akira says that this is their duty as both Edels and Stage Girls, and asks if they're okay with that.
Mei Fan says of course, and Yachiyo admits she'd be troubled if she couldn't stand on stage. Shiori says any Stage Girl would make the same choice. Surely...her sister, too. Elle is quiet and then thanks them. Andrew says it's time for them to leave soon. Elle says she knows and tells them they'll be leaving, thanking them again for their assistance with the Re LIVE. Andrew says they'll be relying on them again if another play disappears~ Michiru tells him that's not how to ask for a favor, you have to say 'please'. He grumbles and reluctantly does so.
After they've left, Akira says the curtain has finally fallen. Yachiyo says it feels like they owe Akira and Michiru a pretty big debt. Akira tells her not to worry about it, that it was because of them returning to the stage that they were able to protect Elysion and the King's Stage. She says she remembers why the King's Stage is considered such. The whole school puts their feelings into the stage, the Four Knights gather and channel those feelings into the King, and the King then turns those feelings into Brilliance. It's something only Siegfeld can do and why they're considered the Absolute Ruler. That's why the King must never forget their passion, hold affection in their heart, and use all their wisdom to bring out the maximum potential of the stage. Doing that the King can shine, and surpass even the Gods.
Michiru says someone may have seen it. Akira asks what she means and Michiru says it's really just a feeling. She explains that when Akira becomes a third-year she'll have to choose the next Frau Platin and that she herself will have to hand over the Frau Saphir title, so next year's performance of the Throne Chapter won't involve all five of them. But...she felt like someone had seen it. The Throne Chapter the five of them had just performed. Yachiyo asks her who and Mei Fan gets freaked out thinking it's the Korosu. Michiru says she doesn't know, that it was just a feeling she had. Shiori says she understands what she means a bit.
Akira, on the other hand, says she'd be troubled if that were so. After all, this was just a performance they did to save Elysion. Next year's play, with a new Frau Platin and new Edels, should be a much more polished and touching performance. Don't they agree? Yachiyo says that's a ton of pressure~ Shiori says it could be taken as a challenge, and Mei Fan says she'll be sure to meet Akira's expectations!
Michiru laughs and wonders who it'll be that inherits the Frau Platin title from Akira. Akira says she doesn't know. They all have the potential, and as the Dying King, she'll watch over them until the end. Michiru asks her if she's looking forward to it. Akira says of course. But, for now...she'd like the five of them to stand on stage together a while longer. The answer will come to her eventually. But, for now, just a while longer...
Michiru agrees and Akira says they should get going, to the place they belong. Michiru says their Student Council work has been piling up, after all. The others happily agree.

"The Dying King and the Four Knights" - Main Story #8, Part 5
Videos: First Half, Second Half
Continuing from the last installment, here’s a full translation of Part 5! :D
The Chancellor: I...lied. The Chancellor: The vows we shared that day on the Hill of the Celestial Goddess were not false. The Chancellor: But still...I lied to my King. To the King I consider an old friend... The Chancellor: How many years has it been now since we exchanged promises on that hill? All my days after that were of running forward together with him. The Chancellor: And now...while the boat rocks as we cross the ice floe, I can sense from his back the same passion, affection, and potential as I did that day. The Chancellor: It's precisely for that reason...that I lied. The Chancellor: But soon, that lie too will come to light. The Chancellor: Once we find the Sapphire... The proof of my faith in the King...
Frau Saphir -Wisdom- 8 years ago
Michiru: Huff...huff...huff...! Akira: Huff...huff...huff...! Michiru: Nnnng, I won't lose to you, Akki! Akira: Uuug! I'll get there before you, Micchi! Both: Goal! Akira: Huff...huff... There, it's my win! Michiru: Huff...huff... No, it's my win! Akira: Hmm... Then, it's a tie! Michiru: Okay, that works! Both: Hehehe!
Michiru: Akki, your grand pas de chat today was really pretty~ Akira: And your entrelacé wasn't shaky at all, Micchi. Michiru: Is it because of all the running we've been doing together? Akira: Or maybe our core training? Both: Hehehe! Akira: There's so much else I want to practice. Like grand fouetté. Michiru: After that, I want to do more and more singing practice~! Akira: Piano, too! Michiru: Yeah! Ha~h, there's never enough time~ Akira: Our rivals are all practicing like this, too. Michiru: That's true. We'll have to dance and sing a lot... Akira: To have a chance at getting into our Siegfeld Institute of Music. Michiru: Yeah... Michiru: Hey, Akki, do you remember the play? Akira: Of course! There's no way I'd forget Siegfeld's "Elysion"! Michiru: It was such an epic story, mystical and a little sad... Just thinking about it, u-uu...makes me tear up... Akira: Micchi, stop! It's gonna look like I made you cry. Michiru: Uu~u, it's just that wonderful of a play. Akira: All the older students worked to create it, after all. Michiru: The whole school coming together to create a single play... That's what makes Siegfeld great. Akira: Elysion... The one we saw was the Throne Chapter, so next year's is the Rebirth Chapter! Michiru: We definitely have to go see it together! Siegfeld's "King's Stage"! Akira: Yeah! And, then...we'll definitely stand on that stage! Michiru: Ah... Yeah... Akira: ...? Akira: What's wrong, Micchi? Michiru: Umm... Yeah... Michiru: It's just kinda scary, is all. Akira: Eh...? Michiru: I've always wanted to go to Siegfeld and stand on that stage, so I continued going to practice, but... Michiru: It's a prestigious school, so students from throughout Japan come to take the exam, right...? I've been wondering if someone like me can even get in... Akira: ...... Michiru: Ah, I'll work hard, okay? I'll do my best, of course. But, it's the "King's Stage", you know...? Michiru: It's just a bit scary... Akira: ......No. Akira: It's because you're here that I wanted to stand on Elysion's stage. Why I've been working hard. Akira: So, if I can't go with you, then it's no good. Michiru: No good? ...Well, I appreciate your feelings. Akira: I said it's no good and I mean it! Michiru: Ah... Akki, where are you going!? Michiru: Be careful, it's dangerous to stand on top of the jungle gym! Akira: I will enter Siegfeld Institute of Music and stand on the King's Stage of Elysion as Frau Platin! Akira: I don't just want to! I will! Akira: ...! Akira: "Though the flame of life lasts but an instant, the pure white Platinum's brilliance never peters out" Akira: "Though the people's stage lasts but an instant, the King's Stage is passed down eternally" Akira: Frau Platin, Yukishiro Akira! On the Godless Stage, the King shines! Michiru: Akki... What are you saying... Akira: It's a pledge. To enter Siegfeld and stand on the King's Stage. Akira: Micchi... What about you? Michiru: Akki... Michiru: ...Hehe. Michiru: You really are...a Butai Baka... A Siegfeld Baka, even. Akira: S-Siegfeld Baka!? That's a new one! Michiru: You haven't even entered the school yet... And you're already declaring yourself Frau Platin? Definitely a Siegfeld Baka. Michiru: ...... Michiru: But... Yeah. Thanks to that, I feel like I can see it, too. What I have to do. Akira: ...Micchi! Michiru: That's not allowed from now on. Akira: Eh...? Michiru: That was...really cool just now, 'Akira'. So--- Michiru: So, I'll...make you the lead of Elysion. I'll make you the King on the King's Stage. Michiru: We don't need to be together on stage. My goal is just one... Michiru: Yukishiro Akira---I'll make you Position Zero on the King's Stage. Akira: !? Akira: We don't need be together on stage? That's... Why would you do that!? Michiru: Everyone wants to become Siegfeld's King, right? To do so...you need resolve. Michiru: You need to aim for only that, seriously and without faltering. We don't need to be together...the way we were until now. Akira: But! Michiru: I'll...use everything I have to make you King. That's my stage, 'Akira'. Akira: ...! Michiru: ...! Michiru: "To shine is to not know shadow, to remain pure is to not know pain" Michiru: "So the blue flame does not shine, on the throne of Platinum, the King's Stage" Michiru: Frau Saphir, Otori Michiru. My destiny is to be together with the King! Akira: ...Are you serious about this, Micchi...? Michiru: From now on it's 'Michiru'. Michiru: Micchi and Akki are over. Now that you're aiming to be the King, call me Michiru, Akira. Akira: But... Is that okay? You won't be...Elysion's lead... Michiru: ...Yeah, I don't mind. Michiru: As long as you're able to be King--- Michiru: (That was a lie. I can't say...I didn't have regrets.) Michiru: (I can't say...I didn't also have the desire...to one day stand on stage at Position Zero as Frau Platin.) Michiru: (But, at that time... Akira who declared herself Frau Platin...) Michiru: (I saw in her a far, far greater brilliance than even Elysion's lead.) Michiru: (That's why...I lied. Because I believed it was sure to lead to the right stage.) Akira: ...Understood. Akira: Then...I vow to you, 'Michiru'. To become Siegfeld's King without fail! Michiru: Understood... I vow to you, 'Akira'. From the day you're crowned, to your death as King, I will always continue to support you!
The Dying King: Ooh... So this is where it was, the Chancellor's Sapphire! The Dying King: It's as if the vows we made to each other that day on the Hill of the Celestial Goddess are being revived... The Chancellor: ...So you remember the vow? The Dying King: Of course... It was the most precious and most noble of vows. The Dying King: You threw away your ambition despite having the resourcefulness to become king, and instead decided to live for the sake of the King, correct? The Dying King: I remembered when I looked at the Sapphire. How I've always been supported by your wisdom... The Chancellor: Your Majesty... The Dying King: But, with this all the gems have been gathered. The Dying King: The Ruby containing the General's passion, the Jade containing the Marquis' affection--- The Dying King: The Pearl containing the Young Knight's potential, the Sapphire containing the Chancellor's wisdom--- The Dying King: I give you my thanks, Chancellor. It's because of you I'll be able to return to the Capital. The Dying King: However... I'm no longer interested in power. I'm merely grateful to those who entrusted these gems to me. The Dying King: On the dawn we return to the Royal Capital, I will entrust this crown to the Young Knight. That is my last duty left as King. The Dying King: Chancellor, when this is all over...I'd like to ride on horseback to the Hill of the Celestial Goddess again. The Chancellor: ...My apologies, Your Majesty. I cannot grant you that. The Dying King: ---What? The Chancellor: Your Majesty... I...have lied to you. If you were to gather all the gems, you needed to have hope... The Dying King: What is this lie? My friend, what have you been scheming? The Chancellor: My apologies...Your majesty, on the day of the rebellion--- The Chancellor: The Young Knight's blade pierced your heart---and you died.

"The Dying King and the Four Knights" - Main Story #8, Part 4 - A Summary
Videos: First Half, Second Half
Continuing from the last installment, here’s a summary of Part 4! Please note that this part in particular has some pretty major spoilers!
The King and Chancellor trek through the desert in search of the Pearl while the King continues his monologue. "I...could not accept it. That I would have to give up this crown, this throne. When I received the crown from the previous King, he told me this---To the living King, the rising curtain is a curse; to the dying King, the falling curtain is a blessing." He says this is why he rejected those who showed potential to become the next King, all to avoid the path of the dying King. He starts to falter in his step and the Chancellor tells him to stay strong. The King asks for water but the Chancellor apologizes and tells him there's not a single drop left. The King says he's so thirsty and that he's at his limit. He wonders if he'll be able to do it, to pass on his destiny. The Chancellor says he will, that it's his duty as King. The King agrees but says if he can't do it, if he can't pass on the crown and everything else---
We then see Yachiyo being attacked by a korosu and Akira and Michiru again jump in to save her. After the korosu is defeated, Akira says, "That's right... I remember now. Her name is... Tsuruhime Yachiyo."
Frau Perle -Potential- 2 months ago
The flashback begins with Michiru repeating to Akira a few lines she read from Yachiyo's notebook. Yachiyo had written that Akira continued to be a pillar of strength among the Edels and that Yachiyo's appointed role to watch over them and smooth over any disputes might be coming to a end, and wonders what she'll do if so. Akira asks Michiru if she's certain of what it said. Michiru says she saw it when she circled around behind Yachiyo and that there's no mistake. "...And how exactly did you do that without being noticed? Are you Special Ops?" "More importantly... What are you going to do, Student Council President?"
Akira says that Yachiyo had indeed been behaving strangely and wonders exactly what they should do about it. Michiru says it seems they have a spy amongst the Edels, from the Court of Inquiry. Akira says there's no real proof at the moment. Michiru wonders if that means they're hiding something. Akira asks her why they would, but Michiru is at a loss. Akira decides to find out for herself.
The next day, Yachiyo is completing her accounting work in the Student Council room. She tells Michiru she's finished and takes her leave. Out in the hallway she starts jotting down a report: that she worked with the Student Council after school again today and that there was no change from yesterday; that the relationship between the members is good, with Akira as the pillar at the center of the group---but then, Akira herself shows up and starts repeating the lines from Yachiyo's notebook that she heard from Michiru, about how Yachiyo's duty may be coming to an end and what she'll do about it.
Akira pins Yachiyo to the wall and asks her, "So, Yachiyo. What will you do now?" Yachiyo tells her that peeking at other people's notes is a poor hobby for Frau Platin to have. Akira tells her she's been behaving strangely and she wanted to confirm what was going on. Yachiyo asks how Akira knew about what she wrote, she never parts with her notebook for even a second. Akira says that for Frau Platin, nothing is impossible. Yachiyo is quiet for a moment and then says there's not much she can do if Akira's already seen it.
"That's right. Everything written here is---" " 'I know. It's all the truth.' " "---just my imagination. ...Wait, what?" " 'Hmph... You seem surprised. But, to think you were the spy sent by the Court of Inquiry.' " "Eh, wait... Akira-senpai?" " 'Well, this is the kind of trick that vixen would play. Perhaps she wants the Edels to observe each other...and to look away from the truth hidden in this Institute... Isn't that right?' " " ....Hmmm, I see how it is. 'To think you knew that much... As expected of the Student Council President. I guess there's no use trying to decieve you anymore.' "
They then start a very long improv session, with the basic story being that 'Yachiyo' chose to become a spy to investigate what happened to her older sister Tsuruhime Chitose, who was a previous Student Council President and who mysteriously disappeared during a performance of Elysion. Also something about an underground 'Stage 13'. Akira then asks Yachiyo (again, all improv) to choose between either cooperating with the Edels to destroy the Court of Inquiry...or death. And that's where the first half ends.
As the second half begins, Yachiyo is about to make her choice when---"This has gone on too long, you two!!" Michiru makes a sudden appearance and startles Yachiyo. She says, "Honestly, I came to see how Akira was handling the situation, but you two just kept improvising forever!" Yachiyo says, "Improvising... Oh... That's right. I got completely pulled in." Akira says she didn't expect Yachiyo to play along that far and that it was impressive. Yachiyo says that with Akira skillfully leading, the role just came tumbling out.
Michiru says, "The 'role', huh." Michiru says Yachiyo has been playing that role of the Court of Inquiry's spy for months now. Yachiyo says that's what it turned into, yes. Akira tells her that playing that 'role' everyday is no simple feat. Yachiyo says Akira is the outrageous one, going that far with their improvisation. Michiru says this is nothing for Akira, she's always acting something out in her head. Yachiyo says she didn't know there was anyone other than herself who did that.
Michiru says, "So, what's written in your notebook really is..." Yachiyo says it's all just a daydream, nothing but her imagination. She says she's always loved daydreams and fantasies. That she's always loved pretending to be someone else and going to other places in her head. But that her parents, classmates, and teachers...no one understood it. Akira says, "An everyday stage, huh." Yachiyo says right, something like that.
Michiru asks her what the 'Court of Inquiry' thing was about. Yachiyo says she wanted to see if she could keep the role a secret from everyone, and that was her pretense. Akira says playing the role of a spy everyday would certainly make things thrilling. Yachiyo says, "Right? Exactly!" and Michiru says to herself, "They're really hitting it off..."
Yachiyo says she was trying to play the part perfectly and wonders where she messed up. Akira says it's simple. The actual person who the Board of Inquiry authorized to watch over the Student Council members...is Michiru. Michiru is momentarily caught of guard by this, but confirms it. Yachiyo lets out a cry of shock. "M-Michiru-senpai is on the Court of Inquiry!? No, wait, the Court of Inquiry is an actual thing!?" Michiru says, "O-Of course. That's why we weren't flustered when we saw your notebook. Geez, you were supposed to keep it a secret, Akira!" Akira says it was only right to tell Yachiyo the truth after that splendid improv.
Yachiyo starts asking what sort of organization the Court of Inquiry is and what sort of things they do. Michiru says the one at the top of the organization is the head of the Institute, Victoria Siegfeld, the one mentioned in the student handbook. She says it's a large organization of 108 members. Yachiyo seems to believe her and says she really can't compare to the real thing, then apologizes for her shoddy acting.
Akira says that it may have been in part because of her setting of the scene...but that as a Stage Girl, Yachiyo is the real thing. She says that daydreams and imagination are both wonderful things. That pretending to be someone else and going somewhere else inside your head, that's the Stage Girl ideal. She tells Yachiyo not to be hesitant or uncertain. That as a Stage Girl, it's fine to act just because you want to. A planet of daydreams, a world of delusions---that's their living Stage. Higher, further, no matter how far... "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players."
Yachiyo recognizes it as a Shakespeare quote and says she learned it from Seisho's Junna-san. Akira says she's correct and tells her stick to her path. "Here at Siegfeld, there's no need to be ashamed of acting." Yachiyo is quiet for a moment and then says that no one has ever told her that before. That, until now...no one has ever joined her on her stage. She asks Akira why she did it. Michiru says, "It's because she's a Butai Baka." Akira asks Michiru not to call her that. Yachiyo starts laughing and says she likes the sound of it. Akira chuckles too, and tells Yachiyo that if she remains her own style of Butai Baka...that she might be able to become it. Siegfeld's next King.
Michiru is surprised and Yachiyo asks, "The next King... You mean, the next Frau Platin and Student Council President?" Akira says perhaps. Yachiyo asks if she really thinks she can do it. Akira says the stage will improve one's acting and that includes the Student Council President role. And besides, like Akira has Michiru, Yachiyo has Mei Fan and Shiori. The rest is up to her to decide what stage she wants to stand on. Yachiyo thinks it over and then taunts Akira a bit, saying "But if I start aiming to be the next King, you might lose your place as the current King, y'know~?"
Akira pauses but then chuckles. She says Yachiyo is right, but that she understands it now, the meaning of that line. "To the living King, the rising curtain is a curse; to the dying King, the falling curtain is a blessing." Yachiyo is confused but Akira says she'll understand in time too, but until that day---"I'll be depending on your Student Council work. Frau Perle... Tsuruhime Yachiyo." Yachiyo laughs a bit and says this really is the first time anyone has said these things to her. She then takes a deep breath, and like Mei Fan and Shiori, she recites her pledge.
"Thousands upon thousands of years, solo after solo The polished, isolated Pearl The stage's border, the play's equinox Shining there, the Platinum truth" Frau Perle, Tsuruhime Yachiyo. All the world's a stage, and even the King is merely a player---did you know?
Yachiyo then tells Akira that she'll be relying on her as well from now on.
The scene transitions to later that day, while Akira and Michiru are out on a walk. They look at each other silently for a moment and then Akira says, "I think 108 members is too many." Michiru retorts, "It's because you went and said something absurd! How exactly am I part of the Court of Inquiry!?" Akira says it was an improvisation. Michiru calls her a Butai Baka again and sighs. Michiru says she better understands how amazing Yachiyo is now, though. And why it was she seemed so elusive. Akira wonders if she's the type of Stage Girl with a 'possession method' of acting, and that if so, it had already bore fruit. Michiru asks her if she's talking about Yachiyo being chosen for the Earth Goddess role. Akira says it was a wonderful performance for a first year, wasn't it? Michiru says she understands now. Who the King considers next in line---
The scene jumps back to the King and Chancellor, having just retrieved the Pearl. The King is amazed they were able to find a spring here in the desert. The Chancellor says it must have been thanks to the Pearl's guidance. The King says his body feels restored and that he feels a will to live again, a thirst for tomorrow. He says it's the same feeling he felt seeing that Young Knight's potential. He says if it's to that Young Knight...he might not mind passing on the kingdom. The Chancellor is surprised but the King says the Young Knight shares his blood, the result of a one-night stand with a dancer on his travels. The King says they should finish collecting the gems and return to the capital, so he can pass on the crown to the Young Knight. The Chancellor is quiet, then says, "...As you wish, my King. Let us go, to the frozen lands of the north---"

Tamao: When she passed by earlier, she said she was going to the lazy river... Tamao: Or was it the wave pool? Sorry for getting it mixed up. Fumi: No, I think I'll be able to catch her thanks to you. And I have a punishment waiting for her when I do! Tamao: She's gone now, Ichie. *splash* Ichie: Puhaa...! Fumi: You heard Tamao, right? 'Ichie would rather play under the waves than drift along on a current'. Ichie: Eh...Eeh!? Was that a hint I was hiding in the water!? Fumi: When I followed her line of sight, I knew right away. And, now...time for your punishment, Ichie! Ichie: Eek! This is our fun pool day, so have mercy~ Tamao: Fufu. Use this as a lesson and hold back on your pranks, okay, Ichie?

You mentioned that summarizing the events rather than doing a full line by line translation was easier for you and I just wanted to say I actually absolutely love the format so if it's less work and burden on you then I would be doubly happy of you kept with it :)
Thank you so much, I'm glad to hear that! Honestly, I've just been feeling more and more uncomfortable doing full translations now that the worldwide version is available, even if it's still behind at the moment. I may still translate some of the card stories since those aren't available to everyone and they have some good character insight, but as for the main story and events go, I'll probably stick to summaries. I hope that’s cool with everyone!

"The Dying King and the Four Knights" - Main Story #8, Part 3 - A Summary
Videos: First Half, Second Half
Continuing from the last installment, here’s a summary of Part 3!
"I am...not just a vessel of the King." The King and Chancellor travel on to find the next gem while the King monologues. He talks about how, lording over the kingdom from his throne, he had thought his power reached far and wide. But, the extent of his power was far too small to save even one person. And because of that...he lost a sworn friend. He couldn't forgive that his friend had died in the war before him. He couldn't forgive his powerlessness at being unable to resuscitate his friend back to life. "But his...my sworn friend's little brother..."
A wind picks up and the King remarks at how fierce it is. The Chancellor tells him to please endure it and that they're almost out of the forest. The King wonders if they're being told not to come, by the Marquis...and the Jade. But, they must move on. He says the Marquis was the one to awaken him. That his feelings were what opened the King's eyes.
At this point we see Shiori being attacked by a Korosu. Akira shouts "Marquis!" and jumps in to save her along with Michiru. After it's defeated, Akira says, "That's right... I remember now. You are... Yumeoji Shiori."
Frau Jade -Affection- 4 months ago
The flashback begins with Michiru thanking Shiori for helping her gather materials even though it's a tough job. Shiori says this much is nothing and Michiru tells her how reliable she is and that she'll be counting on her tomorrow too. Shiori mentions that she left the materials for tomorrow on Yachiyo's desk and that she'll be taking her leave now.
After she's left, Akira asks Michiru how Shiori's work method is. Michiru says she's doing really well. She says that she'd give her close to 100 points for accuracy and thoroughness, as far as her work as the General Affairs officer goes. Akira says that's high praise coming from Michiru, but what else? Michiru is confused as to what she means, so Akira explains that Michiru only said "as far as her work as the General Affairs officer goes". Michiru says that she heard from the other middle school students that Shiori hasn't been doing well in her classes recently. She says the teachers have been worried too, and that they've been talking about how it might have been too soon for a middle school student to become an Edel after all.
Akira insists that's not the case. That she chose Shiori to be Frau Jade because it could be no one but her. Michiru says she knows, but that expectation might be too... 'Too heavy of a burden?' Akira asks and says she had heard that Shiori's body wasn't very strong originally. Michiru says there's that, but for Shiori it's probably...you know. "...Fumi," Akira says.
The scene changes to the rehearsal room where Shiori is playing the piano. When she stops, Akira begins clapping and tells her it was a wonderful performance. Surprised, Shiori stands up but Akira says there's no need to and tells her to continue. Shiori says she was just playing a bit as a change of pace. Akira says she'd like to hear more. Shiori hesitantly agrees, and begins playing again.
Afterwards, Akira tells her it was wonderful and Shiori says she's a bit embarrassed. Akira tells her that the music she plays has a kind and gentle tone. Shiori begins saying that her sister is much better at the piano---and stops. She apologizes. Akira says that she was praising Shiori's piano and that Fumi has nothing to do with it. Shiori begins tearing up.
"Hm? What's wrong... Are you crying?" "...Doesn't...have nothing to do with it... She doesn't have nothing to do with it. For me." "Shiori... ...If you'd like...do you want to tell me? What you're thinking right now." "Yukishiro-senpai... ...Even if I told you... There's so many things I don't understand myself." "......" "Um, Yukishiro-senpai..." "What is it?" "You know that...my sister left for some reason. Left the Edels she longed for... The Siegfeld she dreamed of..." "That's..." "The face I saw her make that day...looked like she was in pain somewhere. I've been wondering if it was my fault... I've been thinking about it this whole time..." "......" "I've been thinking about how being chosen to be Frau Jade by Yukishiro-senpai and Michiru-senpai...is too great a responsibility for a middle schooler like me... But that I need to do my best in my sister's place as well... So that I don't trouble the senpai... I think of how if my sister were here... Then surely she would be much more..." "...... Do you have that little faith in me?" "Eh?" "Shiori. It was not Fumi who I chose, but you. And you've more than met my expectations. To deny that is to deny my choice." "......" "You and Fumi are different people...different Stage Girls. Don't adhere to your sister. Do what you yourself want." "What I want...that's... That's...because of Onee-chan, you know!? She and I both entered Siegfeld to stand on the stage of Elysion that we dreamed of!" "......!" "I came here chasing after Onee-chan... And now she's not here! My...Onee-chan!" "Sh-Shiori...!?" "I have to work hard for Onee-chan who left! I have to work even harder than she did! Doing what I want, not adhering to her... I can't... I can't possibly do that, can I?!!"
Shiori begins to sob and the first half ends.
The second half picks up in the student council room where Akira is serving Shiori tea. She apologizes, saying they didn't have black tea, only roasted green tea. Shiori, still sniffling, thanks her and apologizes for her disgraceful display. Akira awkwardly tells her not to worry about it and says she's sorry too, for saying something impolite. She very awkwardly admits that Fumi is not an unrelated matter, after all, her and Shiori are family...right...yes... Shiori giggles at her and when Akira looks confused, Shiori tells her this might be the first time she's seen Akira look so lost.
Akira says she's like this at times. That the truth is, despite being the 'King' as Frau Platin and the Student Council President in name, there are things she's not good at, so she's always burdening Michiru. She says when Fumi left too, she had trouble keeping her inner thoughts calm. Shiori is surprised. Akira says it's because Fumi was a companion she stood on stage with the previous year, and now she was gone. She felt lost. From the bottom of heart.
Shiori meekly asks if Akira was angry with Fumi. Akira says she was angry, yes. Shiori says, "I knew it" but Akira states she wasn't angry at Fumi. She was angry at herself, as someone who stood on stage with Fumi but couldn't offer her any help. She was angry at herself, as the imperfect vessel of Frau Platin. She says if she had had a wider outlook she may have been able to do something for Fumi...but, corrects herself and says no, even thinking that is arrogant of her. Shiori seems to want to say something, but Akira says she's relieved now. Fumi stood on stage again at Rinmeikan. She was able to return to it. That's enough for now.
Shiori apologizes for making her worry. Akira says she doesn't need to. "But, Shiori... I don't want you to quit being an Edel...being Frau Jade." She says she realized it when Shiori was playing the piano, that Shiori's kind and gentle presence is something Akira needs. That her wide worldview, her calm thoughtfulness, and her modest consideration are all things that no one but Shiori has. "No one but you... Just you." She says it was thanks to Shiori that she was able to realize just how self-righteous and arrogant she was. She says Shiori is necessary for her stage, the King's Stage. Shiori stands up suddenly and Akira tries to ask what she's doing, but Shiori takes a deep breath and---
"ONEE-CHAN, YOU IDIOT!!" "Sh-Shiori?" "Why did you leave without warning!? Why didn't you say anything!? Even though everyone is worried---! Even though I'm your little sister---! ONEE-CHAN, YOU IDIOT!!"
Shiori is winded but says she feels refreshed now. She tells Akira that she wont quit. After all, the reason she came to Siegfeld was to stand on the stage of Elysion. So she won't give up being Frau Jade. She then, like Mei Fan, begins to recite her Edel pledge and the background briefly changes to her on stage in her audition outfit.
"Protectively furled, the bud opens Guided by, the Platinum path A letter wet with tears Stepping out from hiding, the dreaming Jade" Frau Jade, Yumeoji Shiori! Together we'll conquer, the King's Summit! (The line about the letter uses the same kanji as Fumi's name.)
Shiori says she looks forward to working on the Student Council with them again tomorrow. Akira says she's surprised, she didn't know Shiori could yell like that. She says there must be much more she doesn't know about Shiori, how interesting. She says she'll do as Shiori did, to which Shiori is confused, but then Akira yells, "FUMI, YOU...FOOL!!! Why did you give up!? On everything... On Shiori, on me---! FUMI, YOU...FOOL!!!" Shiori is surprised and Akira tells her to keep it a secret from Michiru or she'll likely get a tongue-lashing for doing something so unbefitting of the King. She then tells Shiori she'll be counting on her from tomorrow on, and Shiori happily says, "Yes!"
The scene transitions back to the King and the Chancellor as the King retrieves the Jade. He remarks at the gentle wind caressing his hair and says this could only be the Jade, with it's calming green. He says he remembers it well, the affection that the Marquis taught him. That it was thanks to the Marquis supporting him in his dead brother's stead, that he realized that affection is necessary in one who is King. He says the winds are still strong, but that his heart has warmed a little. He tells the Chancellor that they should continue on. The next gem is the "Pearl of the Knight", to the south...
...and thus ends Part 3! I'll continue with Part 4 whenever it's released!

"The Dying King and the Four Knights" - Main Story #8, Part 2 - A Summary
Videos: First Half, Second Half
Continuing from the last installment, here's a summary of Part 2!
The first half begins with Akira and Michiru acting out the Throne Chapter as the Dying King and the Chancellor. The King talks about how frightened he was the day he succeeded the throne from the previous king. Of the responsibility of protecting the country, its people, and its history. How it meant that one day he, too, would have to choose a successor, and that that would be the moment of his death as King. He starts breathing heavily, and the Chancellor tells him it's tough, but to hold out. The King laments at the state he's in, saying that despite having once been considered the country's greatest knight, doing nothing but sitting on the throne everyday has weakened him. And furthermore, the heat is taking a toll on his old body. The Chancellor informs him that they're approaching the volcano of legend where the Fire Goddess is said to reside. He says he's certain that the light of the Ruby flew off in that direction, to the east, and that they'll surely find it at the foot of the volcano.
They continue onward and the King remarks that the Ruby was originally in the possession of the General. He was a military man wandering from country to country, and the King, charmed by his skill, granted him the title of General and asked him to remain in the kingdom. There was resistance to someone from outside being given authority within the knights, but the King did not listen. And now those knights are the finest in the land. All thanks to the General. He says he wasn't mistaken in his choice, and that the General will, with the Ruby as proof---
But, the Chancellor interrupts and says to look before them, at the volcano. The King does and is astounded by its heat and raging flames. The Chancellor notices something and points it out. Its Mei Fan as the General(/Ruby?), being attacked by a Korosu. Akira calls out 'General!' and both her and Michiru jump in to save her. The Korosu is defeated and Akira says, "That's right... I remember now. You are... Liu Mei Fan."
Frau Rubin -Passion- 7 months ago
Flashback time! Akira and Michiru are in the student council room when someone starts pounding on the door like crazy. Akira demands to know what the ruckus is and in barges Mei Fan, yelling "Congratulations! Yukishiro Akira-sama!" She starts explaining (using extremely polite/formal speech, so sorry if I get any of this wrong) that she heard that Akira had become Frau Platin and that she would be gathering subordinates, so she hurried over. She says she knows the Edels don't accept solicitors but she felt that she would be chosen sooner or later anyway, so she decided to barge right in! She then starts listing all her skills and qualifications but Michiru interrupts with "Wait, wait, just calm down a second." Mei Fan asks her "Yes?" and she says "Umm...first of all...who are you?"
Mei Fan gets all flustered and apologizes. She introduces herself as a first-year student and says that she had been studying Chinese opera in her hometown and was planning to continue on that path, but after watching Akira performing in Elysion's Rebirth Chapter the previous year, she was inspired to learn Japanese and transfer to Siegfeld. She says she wants to stand on the "King's Stage" together with Akira and that's why she came knocking on the Student Council's door. Michiru says, "I think you knocked on it too much, isn't it dented a little?" to which Mei Fan gets flustered again and apologizes.
Michiru asks, "So, what do you think, 'Frau Platin'?" Akira is quiet for a second, then asks, "It's Liu, correct?" and gets the response, "Yes, call me Mei Fan!" She says, "Then tell me something, Mei Fan" and then asks her what she considers the King's Stage. Mei Fan says it's the stage where Akira can shine the most. Akira then asks her how much she knows about the King's Stage and the Student Council. She says she knows everything about them and rehashes what we learned in the last part---the Siegfeld students devote themselves to backstage duties for the King's Stage, and the Student Council, in order to repay their efforts, ensures that student life runs smoothly for them. Akira says exactly, which means the Edels must stand on stage while carrying the students' hopes and dreams. Mei Fan says that is why she wants to be one of the four knights that supports Akira! Akira admits that they're missing three Edels... but Mei Fan is unfit for the role. She tries to ask why but Akira ends the conversation and Michiru hustles Mei Fan out the door. Akira sighs but Michiru says she's of the same opinion as Akira. Akira says they need to hurry and choose the rest of the Edels, and the first half ends.
The second half begins the following day while Akira and Michiru are returning to the student council room after scouting out potential Edel candidates and Mei Fan calls out to them with a 'good morning!' Michiru replies, "Oh, it's Liu-san from yesterday" and she again says, "Yes, call me Mei Fan!" Michiru asks her what's she's doing and she says she's cleaning the student council room's windows. She mentions that she had wanted to clean the whole room but that it was locked. Akira tells her it's unnecessary and a task for student council members. Mei Fan tries to get across that she still wants to join and be by Akira's side. Akira tells her again that she's unfit. Mei Fan tries once more to ask why, but Akira and Michiru excuse themselves and enter the student council room.
The next day, Akira and Michiru are returning to the student council room again. Michiru is pointing out some work they have to do and Akira says there's so much, it's making her head spin. Michiru says she knows and that she'll deal with the paperwork, so Akira just has to select the remaining Edels. Akira says that having Michiru here really helps her. Michiru says just saying "Mm." in this situation is the more kingly thing to do. She tells Akira she needs to act more powerful, like a king, or she'll lose her charisma. Akira says charisma and such won't matter if Michiru is her only companion. Michiru says a king should always be arrogant, even when downtrodden, to which Akira responds "M-Mm." Michiru says, "There you go!" and then notices Mei Fan in the hallway.
She greets them with a 'good morning!' again and Akira says, "...Mei Fan, you again..." Michiru asks her what she's doing this time and Mei Fan says she's prostrating herself. She thought that maybe Akira was displeased with her so she was waiting for them there since 6 in the morning. "While kneeling?" Michiru asks, and Mei Fan replies, "Yes!" She apologizes and again states that she'd do anything to stand on stage with Akira. Akira refuses her again, so she mentions how she was captivated by Akira's performance and how it changed her life, and pleads with her to let her join.
Michiru looks at Akira who remains silent. She tells Mei Fan to listen and asks her if she likes Akira's acting. Mei Fan says of course! Michiru tells her that's why. Mei Fan is confused so she explains again that as Edels they have a responsibility to answer the hopes and dreams of the other students through their performances. She says that the King's Stage doesn't need someone with selfish reasons for being there, that Akira's stage doesn't need someone who is just her fan. She gives a brief apology to Mei Fan and closes the door on her.
Inside the student council room, Akira apologizes to Michiru for making her have to play an unpleasant role. Michiru says it's her job, and part of being the Vice President. Akira again thanks her for the help, but Michiru says "Like I said, just an 'Mm' is fine here." They then muse briefly about the fact that Mei Fan was the only overseas student to be accepted at Siegfeld and that her performance in the exams was exceptional, but reiterate again that her reasons are too selfish. They're about to leave the whole ordeal aside and start on student council work when they hear loud clanging. Akira says it sounds like a copper saucepan, like they sometimes use in classical Chinese opera. They then hear Mei Fan yelling, "Yukishiro Akira-sama! I'll never give up!"
Out in the courtyard, Mei Fan continues to yell, saying she'll continue to train if she's told she's inadequate. That she'll continue to polish herself if she's told she's insufficient. To her the stage is Yukishiro Akira. The only stage she can stand on is the one Akira stands on. Though they may criticize her for being an Akira fan, that's who she is right now, that's all of her. That's the reason she's here. She says that her flames of passion will lose to no one and that she'll show them that she can be of use to Akira as an Edel. She's takes a deep breath and starts reciting a poem(?) and the background briefly changes to her on stage in her Edel/audition outfit.
"Traveling thousands of miles, on the High King's wind Searching far and wide, for his Stage Hidden in my heart, the Dragon's Ruby I devote my life, to the noble Platinum" Frau Rubin, Liu Mei Fan! I will create the King's path with flames of passion! (She says the last line in Chinese.)
Akira and Michiru are watching from the window of the student council room in complete shock. Michiru smiles and says "What does she think she's doing, in the middle of the courtyard. But...isn't she kind of similar? To how you were 'that day'." Akira agrees. She says her stage doesn't require someone who is a fan of hers, that that passion for the stage should be directed towards the audience, however...to have that sort of frank passion directed at her... Michiru asks her if it makes her feel fired up? Akira says yes, and that it rekindles her own passion as the King. Michiru says if Mei Fan continues like she is, it's possible she can become not just a fan, but a splendid Edel that can make the King shine. Akira says it'd be troublesome if she didn't. Michiru laughs and asks what they should have Mei Fan do. Akira says they'll make her the secretary for now, because of her proficiency with kanji---
The scene then jumps back to the King and the Chancellor, with the King having retrieved the Ruby. He remarks on the passion it stirs within him, saying it's for certain that Ruby. He says he remembers it now, the passion that the General entrusted with him. That it was because of those flames that he was no longer frightened. That no matter how many times he was covered in ash, those flames of passion would revive him. As long as they burned, there was nothing to fear. He says that strength has returned in not only his heart but his body, too, and tells the Chancellor that they should continue on. The Chancellor agrees and says the next gem is the "Jade of the Marquis", to the west...
...and that ends Part 2! A summary of the next part will be coming soon!

"The Dying King and the Four Knights" - Main Story #8, Part 1 - A Summary
I won't be doing a full translation of this with how quickly the WW server is catching up, but I thought some people might be interested in reading a summary, so here it is!
The first half begins with Akira and Michiru explaining the premise of the play Elysion. The goddesses created the world, while humans brought about life and death, glory and decline. It's an epic poem detailing the reincarnation of souls, of fate spreading out across time and space. A play made for Siegfeld and to be performed only by them.
It's a three act play taking place over three different eras. The first act is the "Heaven Chapter"---a tale of creation featuring the Celestial Goddess, the Earth Goddess, and the Fire, Wind, and Water goddesses. The second is the "Throne Chapter"---a tale of the rise and fall of the Absolute King, his death and succession of his throne. Finally, the "Rebirth Chapter"---a tale of separated souls miraculously meeting once again in the far off future.
After performing the "Heaven Chapter", the next year they perform the "Throne Chapter". After performing the "Throne Chapter", the next year they perform the "Rebirth Chapter". And then, after performing the "Rebirth Chapter", the next year they perform the "Heaven Chapter" again. This continues every year.
They then explain a bit about Siegfeld. Those who enroll at Siegfeld, do so to perform Elysion. There's the one and only "King", whose purpose is to make the "King's Stage" shine. There's the Edels, the four gems who support the King's throne. And those who can't become Edels, devote their student days to backstage duties. But every King must die. Even so, their soul will be inherited and continue to shine. And the throne as well. That's why the dying King must search for a new King. "However..."
At this point, Akira is broken out of a daze by Michiru calling her name. She asks Akira why she's spacing out and says it's time to go to school. She then notices the script for Elysion, and asks Akira if she stayed up late reading it. Akira says she was preparing for the "Throne Chapter". Michiru remarks that it's good she's thinking about her responsibilities as the "King" but to consider her needs as a human, too, and then says they should head to school. Akira agrees.
Because they're later than usual, Michiru suggests they take a shortcut. She notices that Akira's spacing out again and asks if she's still sleepy. Akira says no, but that it feels like she was dreaming. Michiru asks what kind of dream it was, and Akira says she thinks it was a dream about performing the "Heaven Chapter" together as five people. Michiru says that sounds nice...but that it was only a dream.
They pass by a park and Michiru remarks that it's been awhile since they've been there. "How many years has it been? So nostalgic. Right, Akira?" Akira asks why it's nostalgic and if something happened there. Michiru asks what she's talking about, it's the park where they made 'that promise'. Akira asks what the promise was. Michiru is in disbelief and asks her if she forgot. Akira says she can't remember making a promise at the park.
Cue lover's quarrel. Michiru asks her if she's actually conscious or still sleeping. Akira's like, "I'm clearly conscious" but Michiru isn't having it, Akira forgetting their promise is unbelievable. She asks if she's been eating too much spicy curry or something again!? Akira admits that may be the case...but tells Michiru to calm down and asks what the promise was again. Michiru is mad at this point and tells Akira that she can put up with her being a Butai Baka but forgetting their promise is going too far! She then runs off and Akira calls after her. Akira comments to herself that nothing's going right today...almost like she's in a play she's unfamiliar with...
At the front gate, Akira asks Michiru to wait and explain herself. Michiru says, "Then remember our promise." Akira is all "like I've been saying..." and Michiru just goes "ugh, whatever!" and continues to the Student Council room. She gives her introduction while entering and then Akira calls out to her again, but Michiru sternly tells her to give an introduction, too. Akira is taken aback but does as she's told. She then asks if they can continue their conversation, but Michiru says they'll continue after school, they have StuCo work to do. She reminds her that they have a duty to keep student life running smoothly so that the other students, who have entrusted their dreams to the Edels, can devote themselves to their backstage activities. Therefore, they have no time for personal squabbles. Akira agrees and apologizes. "I'll leave it to you, Vice President... Frau Saphir." "Of course, President... Frau Platin."
Afterwards, Akira remarks that they have an awful lot of matters to take care of. Michiru says it can't be helped, after all, the Student Council is only the two of them. Akira asks if there's been any Edel applicants. Michiru says there hasn't been a single person and that at this rate, they might have to perform Elysion's throne chapter with just the two of them, too. Akira comments that despite having been accepted as Edels by the previous Student Council, and inheriting the role of President, no new members joined and their scouting attempts were declined...leaving only the two of them to perform the Goddess Chapter. Michiru says it was kind of embarrassing performing a play with so much tradition behind it with only two people. Akira says it was unheard of and that she wants to avoid repeating it.
She then mentions that she's supposed to choose the next Frau Platin when she becomes a third year. Michiru says all the other Student Council postions and Edel seats are vacant and that this is a crisis for Siegfeld, which gives Akira pause. Michiru is all "Why the heck does no one want to be an Edel!? Isn't everyone supposed to want to perform Elysion!?' Akira says she'll accept that she's the one responsible for their state of affairs, after all, she's not a person of virtue. She says she can't face the previous President or the history of the King like this--then pauses.
Michiru says they should scout again after school...but Akira bursts out laughing. Michiru asks her what's wrong. Akira says that it's strange, doesn't she think so, too? Michiru says of course it's strange! Akira's been acting weird, starts lauging suddenly, and forgot their promise, plus they're really busy with Student Council work, and no one wants to be an Edel! Akira says exactly, doesn't it seem like they've lost something? Or, rather, that they're performing a play where they've lost something? She then remarks that this must be the sense of being in 'a play you've never experienced'. Michiru asks her what the heck she's talking about. Akira asks her in return if she hasn't realized it yet. She says that it's exactly as Michiru said, everyone enters Siegfeld because they want to perform Elysion and yet how is it possible that the other Edel seats are vacant? Michiru says that even if she asks that, that's their reality, isn't it? Akira says yes, but there's no sense of reality. Strangely so. Michiru asks her what exactly she means and the first half ends.
The second half begins with Akira asking again whether it's truly possible that Elysion could be performed with only the two of them? That Siegfeld, the school considered the Absolute King, would perform such a foolish, laughable, unsightly play? Is such a miserable play really their fate and future? "No. Absolutely not. Performing Elysion with just the two of us... That's not the Elysion we swore to do!" Michiru still seems hesitant so Akira starts reciting lines from the Goddess Chapter.
"Celestial Goddess, do you not fear my flames? They burn everything I embrace, these flames!" "Fear? What is there to fear? Those flames are the warmth those who are frozen hope for."
"Did you know, Celestial Goddess? I was the Goddess of the Harvest...and of Love. I, too, had already completely forgotten it, though." "I know, Earth Goddess. You are kinder and more delicate than any other, and so you buried your memories deep under the earth."
Here, Michiru jumps in with the Water Goddess' lines. "Time is like flowing water. That's why it is my task to control it." "So you've continued to do so alone in eternal isolation... Water Goddess. Then, join me and let's travel that current together!"
Akira is winded and Michiru asks her why she's reciting the lines all of a sudden. Akira says she's come to a realization. The curtain rolling up and the spotlight cutting through the darkness; smoke filling the stage and the backdrop slowly rising; the rustling of fluttering costumes and the lines uttered in only that instance; the outpouring of cheers and applause as the performance ends---None of that was a dream. Akira playing the Celestial Goddess, Michiru playing the Water Goddess, and three others playing the Earth Goddess, Fire Goddess and Wind Goddess. Performing Elysion as five people wasn't just a dream.
Akira says that as Frau Platin her duty is to perform Elysion and that she could never forget that play. Michiru is still having trouble believeing it, so Akira asks if she trusts her word. Michiru is silent for a second but then starts laughing. She says Akira's always been a Butai Baka but at the very least she would never forget 'that promise'. Akira tells her that Butai Baka is a bit excessive...but, yes, that's correct. Michiru agrees that things are strange and wonders what exactly is happening. Akira says it's most likely that---the "Disappearance Play".
At this point they start talking about what they learned from the Seisho girls--Maya's disappearance and how they had to save the Wartime of Farewells from being erased. Michiru asks what they called it. Akira says it was a Re LIVE. This is when Elle speaks up. "Yes, a Re LIVE. The play...has been halted." They're transported to The Stage and Akira smugly says she knew it was a play.
Michiru is surprised to see Elle who calls out to Andrew who is dawdling for some reason. He makes his introduction and Michiru is like "Wait, the shop manager!?" Akira asks her if she knows him. "He's the manager of the shop I frequent...I guess? I don't know him very well, though." They then go into an overly long and redundant explanation of what's happening (while Andrew annoys Michiru and gets bullied and called a kimogura in return...again) during which they come to understand that the other Edels (who they still don't remember) have disappeared and Elysion is being erased.
Elle explains that in order to save it they must don their costumes and engage in a play with the Korosu. Akira asks, "Then, should we go together, Michiru? To the play where the dying King searches for what he's lost. Elysion... The Throne Chapter." They then start improvising a few lines before Akira chuckles and says they'll show them the Absolute King's stage, before they both jump into the play. Elle seems concerned but Andrew says they understand what to do and that's what it means to be a Stage Girl. Elle muses, " 'Elysion'... The Stage Girls and the 'Preordained Play'..." The scene then jumps to Akira and Michiru performing a scene from the Throne Chapter between the dying King and his Chancellor, which I've translated below.
Michiru: "Your Majesty, Your Majesty!" Akira: "Ugh..." Michiru: "Oh, you're awake! Your Majesty!" Akira: "Chancellor... Where are we?" Michiru: "The Hill of the Gods. I had a secret path built here, if ever we needed it." Akira: "Fu... You never overlook things. I'm the one who blundered... To think I allowed anarchists to plot against us. I never noticed the spirit of rebellion brewing behind closed doors... I must be getting old." Michiru: "...Your Majesty." Akira: "Don't look so down, Chancellor. Though the country may have been taken by the rebels, I am still its King. If the Knights who are devoted to me gather, surely restoration will be granted. The four gems in the crown I wear are proof of my authority..." Akira: "Ugh! Wait, the four gems...!? The ruby, pearl, jade, and sapphire... They're all gone!?" Michiru: "They must have fallen out in the mayhem as we escaped from the castle and fled across the land." Akira: "Across the land!? How could this be... Then my authority is already..." Michiru: "...Your Majesty..." Akira: "......" Akira: "...Fu. ...Chancellor. This is a pleasant view." Michiru: "Excuse me?" Akira: "The Hill of the Gods... We rode here on horseback often when we were young." Michiru: "Eh... Yes. That's right. So you remember. Our days back then... And the promise we made..." Akira: "I could never forget. Our joining as nobles, and our never-changing, eternal vow. Yes, never-changing. Therefore..." Akira: "We can regain it. The eternal throne." Michiru: "......" Akira: "From here, I will journey to search for the missing gems and take back the lost throne. Will you join me, Chancellor? My old friend." Michiru: "...Gladly, My King. That is our pact as Knights---"
...and with that Part 1 ends! I'll write another summary when the next part is released!

New Year’s Greetings! Great Fortune Operation 2019

Videos: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6
Full translation below the cut!
A New Year's Greeting
[New Year's Morning, Siegfeld Lesson Room] Shiori: Huff...huff... Now, a pique turn...! Shiori: (Good... Now, a chaîné turn! Chaîné, chaîné, pique, pique...) Shiori: Pose! Huff, huff... One more time... Akira: Individual practice on New Year's morning, you're working hard. Shiori: Yukishiro-senpai!? I thought you returned home yesterday... Akira: I had some free time before greeting my relatives. There's work I want to complete without delay, so I came to the Institute, but... Akira: It looked like someone was in the lesson room and when I came to check, here you were. Akira: Those turns just now were quite good. You've developed the awareness to keep your pivot leg steady at the pelvis. Shiro: Th-Thank you very much...! Akira: However, I think it'd be best to rest a bit more in between. All your preparation will be meaningless if you're fatigued. Shiro: Yes! Michiru: Ah, there you are~! Happy New Year♪ Shiori: Michiru-senpai was here, too, I see. Happy New Year. Your furisode really suits you! Michiru: Thanks, Shiori♪ It's my favorite! Akira: Michiru, why are you here? Shiori: (Huh? Did Michiru-senpai not come here with Yukishiro-senpai?) Michiru: My mom drove me here. More importantly, you didn't compliment my furisode, Akira. Akira: ...Right. It's splendid. Michiru: Is that really what you think~? Well, whatever. Let's go make our first shrine visit of the year, you two. Shiori: A shrine visit? Michiru: I just heard this from my mom yesterday, but there's a shrine that favors the performing arts and there's interesting omikuji there. Michiru: Well, it's not so much the omikuji itself that's interesting, but what you do based on the result. Akira: Sakurazaka Shrine, is it. Akira: There are many shrines that favor the performing arts, but as for characteristic omikuji, it must be that one. Michiru: Correct, Akira! Shiori: Sakurazaka Shrine... So there's a place like that. What kind of omikuji are they? Michiru: Fufufu ♪ You'll see if you come along! My mom will drive us there, so let's hurry and go! Shiori: Ah... She's leaving. Will Mei Fan-senpai and Yachiyo-senpai be coming along, too? Akira: No, Mei Fan's on her way home. Yachiyo also said she'd be busy at home when the new year began. Michiru: Hurry up and get changed, you two♪ It'll start getting crowded soon! Akira: Honestly... So boisterous on New Year's day.
Michiru: We're here~♪ Shiori: There sure are a lot of people. Also--- Student A: "Is that true!? If so, then name it without calling it good fortune!" Student B: "It's a lie! The proof is in the fact that you came here to Sakurazaka Shrine!" Shiori: What exactly are they doing...? Akira: An improvisation, huh. Michiru: That's this shrine's omikuji♪ Shiori: This is an omikuji...? Michiru: On the omikuji, something like 'there's good luck in doing such and such' is written, you see? Michiru: So everyone who comes here on New Year's day will do what's written on the omikuji to increase their luck in the performing arts. Shiori: ? So you're saying 'there's good luck in doing an improvisation' was written on their omikuji? Michiru: Right! Surprising, isn't it~ Apparently, they were originally regular omikuji, but... Michiru: Looong ago, a nearby school would come to the shrine and perform prayers associated with the omikuji's contents. Michiru: They began to gain fame little by little and gradually the contents of the omikuji changed as well... Michiru: Nowadays it's exclusively the performing arts column where things like doing an improvisation is written. It seems the school in question that started it doesn't do it anymore, though. Shiori: I see... So it has that kind of history. Shizuha: Oh? Lalafin: Ah! It's Siegfeld's...! Michiru: Shizuha-chan, Tsukasa-chan, Lalafin-chan! Happy New Year~! Michiru: Tsukasa-chan, your furisode's so cute! I was considering wearing a fluffly shawl, too~♪ Tsukasa: Happy New Year. Thanks, it is New Year's day, after all. Michiru: I know right! The color and pattern really suit you, and that attractive hairstyle is nice, too♪ Tsukasa: Yours is really vibrant, too. A yellow furisode is perfect for the cute Otori-san. Michiru: Ehehehe, thanks~♪ Michiru: Also, I'm glad to see you! I've been thinking I needed to properly apologize sometime. Tsukasa: Apologize...? Michiru: Last year you went through the trouble of writing us an invitation to see "Captain Twins", but we couldn't, I'm sorry! Lalafin: Eh... You remembered!? Even the name! Michiru: Of course~♪ Michiru: The truth is, Akira decided to reply to the invite herself before I could even see it~ Tsukasa: Then the one who wrote "We have no time for the likes of Frontier" was... Michiru: It was all Akira's doing! Geez~ So troublesome~ Akira: ............ Michiru: So, would it be okay for us to see it this year? The play you made! Shiori, you want to see it, too, right? Shiori: Yes! I've heard Frontier's plays are really creative, so I'm looking forward to it. Tsukasa: We'd gladly welcome everyone from Siegfeld. I'll send another invitation, then. Michiru: Yeah, we'll be waiting! Michiru: Well then, we should get going now. Lalafin: Okay! See you later~! Shizuha: Yukishiro-san, let's have another great year. Akira: ...Right.
Michiru: You're the same as ever, huh~ It's New Year's day, you should be more festive. Akira: You're festive enough for us both. Michiru: I'm not so sure about that~ Michiru: But, I wonder if there's no ill feelings from last year now? Michiru: I don't know how much it mattered to them, but if we're going to be standing on the same stage at the Performance Festival, it's good to clear the air. Shiori: Ah...! Michiru: Hm? What's wrong, Shiori? Ichie: Huh? Tamao: You are... Rui: Siegfeld's...!
Carrying Out a Tradition
[New Year's Morning, Tokaso Dormitory] Rui: Tamao-senpai... Is this okay? Tamao: A little tighter is fine. ...There, like that. Tamao: Rui-chan, thank you for helping me put on my furisode. ...How does it look? Rui: I-I-I-It looks really nice on you! No other Stage Girl looks as good in a furisode! Tamao: I think that's a bit of an exaggeration... Rui-chan? Rui: (To think I'd be helping Tamao-senpai change so soon into the new year, it's like a dream come true! Her waist is as slim as ever~) Tamao: Rui-chaaan? Rui: Ah, I'm sorry. I was just thinking how your waist is--... Tamao: M-My waist? Did I gain weight over the holidays, perhaps? Rui: Nonono! If anything it decreased about 5 millimeters! N-No, I mean! I-It's slim like normal, don't worry! Tamao: R-Really? I guess that's fine, then... *ringtone* Tamao: Oh? It's from Ichie... Hello? Ichie: "Tamao, mooornin'!" Tamao: Ichie, Happy New Year. Ichie: "Ah, that's right! Happy New Year and stuff~☆ What are you doing right now?" Tamao: Rui-chan was helping me put on my furisode. We'll be making our first shrine visit of the year after this. Ichie: "A shrine visit!? That'll be nice~ Which one!?" Tamao: You might've heard of it. It's called Sakurazaka Shrine, a god of the performing arts is enshrined there... Ichie: "Oh, I saw it on a TV special yesterday! Apparently, people are going crazy for its weird omikuji right now!" Tamao: It seems that's what it's become famous for nowadays. But, originally, it was the site of an event for the Rinmeikan Performance Department. Ichie: "Eh, really? They mentioned on TV that it had a long history, but Rinmeikan was never mentioned?" Tamao: Apparently, the "Sakurazaka Pilgrimage" was an important event that everyone participated in during my grandmother's time at Rinmeikan, but... Tamao: With the decrease in the number of students, they stopped going, it seems. Tamao: But it's an event with valuable history to it. Ichie: "So, then, you're going to go do that...Sakurazaka pilgrimage or whatever!?" Tamao: Yes. I finished changing quickly thanks to Rui-chan, so I was thinking we should get going soon. Ichie: "Then, I'll go, too!" Ichie: "Mama~! I'm going to visit an interesting shrine for a bit with my friends! I'll go right to grandma's place and meet up with you all after!" Tamao: Eh? Ichie, if you're gathering with your relatives, you don't have to--- *click* Tamao: Ah... She's her usual self right from the new year. Rui: So Ichie-senpai's coming, too. With everyone returning home, I held back inviting them, but... Rui: Should we call Yukko and Fumi-senpai, too? Although, I think Yukko probably won't come. Tamao: Yes, I'm sure Yuyuko-chan's fully enjoying the New Year's holidays at home... Fumi's house is far, so I don't know if she could make it. Let's go with them another time. Tamao: By the way, Rui-chan. Are you really okay with not wearing a furisode? Rui: Y-Yes! It'll take time, too, so my uniform is fine! Rui: (As long as I get to see Tamao-senpai all dressed up, I'm good! Even just spending time changing is a waste!)
[A Few Hours Later] Ichie: Huh? Tamao: You are... Rui: Siegfeld's...! Michiru: Wow! It's Tamao-chan, Ichie-chan, and Rui-chan! Happy New Year♪ Tamao: Happy New Year. Let's have another great year. Michiru: Such a wonderful furisode, it really fits you. Exactly like a Yamato nadeshiko♪ Tamao: Yours is a fitting color for New Year's day, it suits you well. Akira: ............ Tamao: Yukishiro-san, thank you for that time. I'd like for us to both use this year to cultivate ourselves. Akira: ...I see. Rui: ...We're not who we were before. Ichie: Rui, clam down, whoa there☆ Rui: But, Tamao-senpai went out of her way to greet her... Michiru: Ahahaha, sorry about that~ This is basically how Akira always is. Tamao: It's fine. I'll interpret it as Akira-san's way of cheering us on. Akira: ...Let's go. Michiru: Ah, wait up, Akira. Well, then, let's have another great year~ Shiori: Ah... Umm... Uh... Shiori: No, it's nothing. Excuse me! Ichie: ...? What was that about? Rui: It seemed like she wanted to say something. Tamao: (That girl... She's Fumi's little sister, I believe...?) Tamao: ...She must have been nervous. I'm pretty sure she's still in middle school, right? And being surrounded by high schoolers...you see? Ichie: Ah, I see, gotcha. Okay, next time we meet, she'll get a dose of Ichie-senpai's kindness☆ Rui: Well, should we go draw an omikuji for the Sakurazaka pilgrimage? Tamao: Before that, let's pray at the shrine. It's over here.
Rui: At any rate, it sure is crowded. Tamao: Even reaching the shrine is difficult, to say nothing of the omikuji... Ichie: Tamao~! Rui~! Let's go! Tamao: Ichie, it's risky to go alone~! Rui: Let's chase after her!
Rui: We were able to visit the shrine somehow... Ichie: That was tiresome even for me~... Tamao: Let's rest over there a bit. Rui: Let's! Ichie: Ah! Look, it says omikuji here! Come on, let's go☆ Rui: Eeh! Ichie-senpai! We'll be separated! Please wa~it! Tamao: Th-They're so energetic...
Three Sets of Three
[New Year's Morning, Frontier Main Gate] Shizuha: Lalafin, thank you for helping with the "Mochi Pounders VS Badminton Players New Year's Party". Lalafin: Yeah! I ate a bunch of mochi at home, so I wanted to move around! Shizuha: We finished quickly thanks to you. Shizuha: By the way, Lalafin. Do you have anything planned after this? Lalafin: Nope~ Tomorrow's when we all gather together at grandma's. Is there somewhere you wanted to go!? Shizuha: Well, would you like to make our first shrine visit of the year together? I heard there's a shrine that favors the performing arts. Lalafin: A shrine? Shizuha: I saw it on TV yesterday---
Lalafin: Yaaay! Omikuji, omikuji~ Shizuha: Fufu. Such high spirits. Tsukasa: At any rate, I never thought Siegfeld would come here. They don't seem like the type to ask anything of the gods, I was surprised~ Lalafin: You're the one I was surprised to see~ Shizuha: That's right, I didn't expect we'd meet up with you here. Tsukasa: I thought you'd all returned home, so I came here by myself... Tsukasa: Now that I think about it, you're wearing your uniforms--did you pay a visit to the school? Lalafin: To prepare for the "Mochi Pounders VS Badminton Players New Year's Party"! Tsukasa: So they're doing it this year, too~! Last year's was super exciting. Shizuha: Yes. Lalafin helped out a lot, so the preparations were completed perfectly ♪ Lalafin: It'd be nice to invite Aruru and Misora to visit the shrine, too~ Shizuha: It's a bit too late to have them come now, so let's do our best with the omikuji for them as well. Tsukasa: Let's. ...Oh, it's says the omikuji are this way. Lalafin: Omikuji, omikuji~
Lalafin: Arrival! And before my very eyes, the omikuji...! Tsukasa: They might be right in front of us, but this is no small crowd... Tamao: Oh? Ebisu-san? Everyone else, too. Tsukasa: Oh, it's Tomoe-san. Lalafin: Ichie~! Ichie: Lala-cha~n! Both: Happy New Year and stuff~! Shizuha: Fufu. Perfect sync. Tamao: They must be on the same wavelength. Tsukasa: Aren't they a little too similiar... It's kind of dizzying... Shizuha: Oh, that's right. The truth is we're holding an event we call the "Mochi Pounders VS Badminton Players New Year's Party", if you'd like, do you want to join us? Ichie: Mochi pounders and badminton players!? What kinda event is it!? Lalafin: Everyone separates into the 'mochi pounders' or 'badminton players' team, kinda like a sports event, I guess! I'm sure you'd like it, too! Ichie: That's Frontier for you! It sounds pretty amazing! I wanna hear more about it, but for now...the omikuji is before our eyes! Tsukasa: Oh, so you're goal in coming here was the omikuji, too. Tamao: That's right. We'll need courage to face that crowd of people, but we should go soon. Shizuha: Yes. I'll text you the details about the event, in case you're interested. Ichie: I wanna meet up with Aruru-chan and Misora-chan, too, so I'll go! Even if no one else does, I will~☆ Lalafin: You definitely should! It'll be fun!
Tamao: Phew... I'm glad I managed to draw it... Rui: Tamao-senpai! Ichie: Tamao~! Tamao: Good, you're both--... *crowd noises* Tamao: Kya!? Ichie: Hyaah!? Did something just start or what!? Wawah, it's...it's a wave of people~~! Tamao: Kya~! Rui: Tamao-senpai's being swept away...!? I'll save you right away! Ichie: Ruiii, Ichie-senpai's being swept away, too, y'know~!? Eeek, save me~☆ *loud crowd noises* All: Hyaaaaah!?
Rui: Ouch! Shiori: Kya! Rui: E-Excuse me--...! Shiori: ! Rinmeikan's...! Tsukasa: Oh, you two are---
Rui: I wonder if Tamao-senpai is okay... Shiori: What should I do... Getting separated in a place like this... Tsukasa: (These two seem really helpless... They were separated from their senpai, I guess it's understandable.) *ringtone* Tsukasa: (Oh, it's Shizuha.) Tsukasa: Hello? Tsukasa: We were swept away by the crowd, too, all the way to the center of the shrine... Tsukasa: It might be hard to meet up again like this... Tsukasa: And, you're... I see. Okay, go it. I'll see you later, best of luck. Bye bye. Rui: U-Um... Do you know where the others are? Tsukasa: Yeah. It seems Shizuha, Tomoe-san, and Yukishiro-san are together. That leaves--- *ringtone* Tsukasa: Oh, a text from Lalafin. ...Look, she took a fun photo together with Otori-san and Otonashi-san. Shiori: Michiru-senpai... I'm glad she's safe. Tsukasa: It seems everyone's okay for the time being. Tsukasa: Oh, is there anything you want to say to Otori-san? You'll have to rely on Lalafin to tell her, though. Shiori: N-No... I'm fine... Tsukasa: Then, Akikaze-san, is there anything you want to tell--- Rui: I-I'm fine, too...! Rui: More importantly, we should go meet up with the others...! Tsukasa: (Huh~? It kind of seems like they're avoiding eye contact with me?) Tsukasa: (...It couldn't be that they're scared of me, right?)
Ichie: Lala-chan, Michiru-chan! They're selling takoyaki over there! It smells sooo good. Michiru: Oh, you're right~! I'm pretty hungry, I want a bite♪ Lalafin: I'm starving, too! Ah! I propose we buy takoyaki! Ichie: Totally agreed~ Let's buy it and take another commemorative photo! Michiru: Ah, just a second. Before that, I need to send Akira a text.
Tamao: ---So, I wanted to try what was written in the performing arts column of the omikuji, but... Shizuha: I'll participate, if you don't mind. Yukishiro-san, do you not have much interest in this sort of thing? Akira: Right. Sorry, but--- *ringtone* Akira: A text? Who...? Nn. Michiru: "Frontier's representative Shizuha-chan and Tamao-chan who brought Fumi back to the stage..." Michiru: "We've been interested in them for a while, right?" Michiru: "This is a rare chance, so spend some time with them and ascertain with your own eyes what kind of people they are." Michiru: "If you decide to return to me on your own...I'll be angry, okay?" Shizuha: Yukishiro-san, is something wrong? Akira: No, it's nothing. ...I'll participate, too. Tamao: Eh, but--... Akira: Let's finish this quickly. Tamao: Sorry to bother you two with this... Akira: It's not a bother. Our interests aligned just now. Shizuha: Tomoe-san, don't worry. I also came here for the omikuji. Akira: So, what's the task? You have the omikuji there, correct? Tomoe. Tamao: Yes. I haven't opened it yet, I'll look now!
Tsukasa-senpai's Gyaru-ific Counseling Center
Tsukasa: Umm, since we're here I thought we could try what's written on the omikuji, but... Tsukasa: Akikaze-san, Shiori-san, what do you two think? Both: ............ Tsukasa: ...I'm just curious, are you two afraid of me or something? Rui: I-I-I'm not afraid! Rui: I've meet you a few times at the Performance Festival preparatory meetings... Rui: It's just...I've never really mentioned it, but I'm pretty shy around strangers... Shiori: So am I, a bit. I'm fine with people I'm familiar with, though... Tsukasa: I-I see, then it can't be helped. You don't have to push yourselves, okay? Rui: Um, Ebisu-san!! Tsukasa: Wah!? Wh-What is it? Rui: S-Sorry for speaking loudly all of a sudden. Rui: Before you said Tamao-senpai and the others she met up with were doing the sakurazaka pilgrimage...Ah, I mean, completing the omikuji's task. Tsukasa: Yeah, seems that way. Rui: Then, I think I'd like to...do what's written on the omikuji here, too... Rui: Oh! Only if you're okay with it, though, of course! Tsukasa: I'm glad, but, you really don't have to push yourself, okay? Rui: I'm not! Rui: I'm sure if Tamao-senpai were here she'd cooperate with you. Rui: So, I'd like to, also...! Shiori: Please let me participate, as well. Michiru-senpai's text said to help you out. Tsukasa: I see. Thanks, you two. Tsukasa: Then, let's all do our best!
Tsukasa: Actually, I've already opened the omikuji, so I know what the task is. It's not that hard, so don't worry! Rui: Is that so...! Shiori: Can even I do it? Tsukasa: Yep, you definitely can! Here's what was written in the performing arts column... Tsukasa: "There's good luck in making friends with someone on the grounds today"! Rui and Shiori: "There's good luck in making friends with someone on the grounds today"...? Tsukasa: Meaning, if we become friends here, we've cleared the task. Easy enough, right? Tsukasa: Please be friends with me♪ Rui: I can't! Tsukasa: Eh!? Rui: Being friends with more than one senpai... It's far too much! Tsukasa: No, I mean, we don't even go to the same school and we're only a year apart in age. Hey, Shiori-san, you agree with me, right? Shiori: Umm... Tsukasa: (She averted her eyes...!) Tsukasa: Look, everyone else from Siegfeld is older than you, right? It's not surprising anymore, is it? Shiori: I suppose...that's true. Tsukasa: Right? Besides, Shiori-san. ...Umm, your sister and I are the same age, so it's not like you're not used to handling people older than you, right? Shiori: Um, I haven't seen Onee-chan recently... Tsukasa: Oh, I see... Tsukasa: ...Well, I don't know the details, but if there's anything troubling you, I'll listen. Shiori: Eh... Tsukasa: Ah, well, it's like how if you don't know the other person very well, sometimes it's easier to open up, right? Shiori: ............ Shiori: Um, it's not exactly troubling. I've just been wondering how to get close to Onee-chan again. Shiori: I...was scared and didn't return home this year. Because she might hate me... Rui: ...Um, I... I don't think that's true! Tsukasa: Akikaze-san? Rui: When Fumi-senpai talked about returning home, she seemed a bit sad. Rui: Just like...you do now. Shiori: R-Really? Rui: Yes. That's the limits of what I know, but I think Fumi-senpai really treasures you. Rui: When she's talking about your family or recollecting the past... During those times she always has a really warm expression. Shiori: ...Onee-chan. Tsukasa: I haven't heard your sister's circumstances, so I can't say for certain, but... Tsukasa: The two of you are both Stage Girls, so I'm sure you'll be able to understand each other, one day. Shiori: I think that'd be nice. Tsukasa: Yeah. This is only my opinion, but I don't think bonds are broken that easily. Rui: Bonds... Tsukasa: To be honest, there was a time when I left the stage... But, I was able to return. Tsukasa: I'm sure it was because I had a bond with the stage, and friends there who strengthened it. Tsukasa: In Shiori-san's case, the bond of sisters is very, very strong. And I'm sure the stage will strengthen it. Shiori: The stage will... Tsukasa: The stage has amazing power. Maybe it's easier to imagine if I call it energy? Tsukasa: Fiction and reality mix together to create a whimsical but very real world that can only exist on the stage. Tsukasa: The tales woven there, comedy and tragedy alike, so lifelike you could touch them, spread out as a wave of emotion in the audience's heart. Tsukasa: You two may be standng on different stages, but that world is connected. Don't you think that's an amazing thing? Shiori: ...I do. Tsukasa: Yeah. That's why I think you should continue to improve as a Stage Girl. Tsukasa: If you polish your technique until it shines, then every time you stand on another stage, your connection to your sister will grow stronger. Shiori: Yes...! Rui: Uuu...Ebisu-san! Tsukasa: Wh-What's wrong? Rui: I'm so moved! Please listen to my worries as well! Tsukasa: Eeh!? Sure, but all I can really do is listen, you know...!? Rui: That's fine! I'd like to hear your opinion in your words...in your expressions! Tsukasa: Fufu, if you're going to say that much, then I guess I'll have to. Rui: Thank you very much! Shiori-san, would you like to listen, as well? Shiori: If you're okay with me, I'd be glad to! Tsukasa: (Hehe. I kind of feel like I've suddenly gotten two little sisters.) Tsukasa: (It's a different feeling than with Lalafin and Shizuha, or Aruru and Misora. I wonder why... But--) Tsukasa: (Would it be okay to call this friendship? ...I'm sure it's fine, right?)
Michiru's Calculations
Ichie: Phew~ Amazake's so tasty~☆ Michiru: Really? Let me have a sip, too♪ Ichie: Here, take a swig~ Michiru: Yay! *Gulp*...*gulp*... Mmm♪ It tastes and smells like rice, but it has a nice texture~ Lalafin: Sounds good! I want a sip, too~! Ichie: Go on, drink up~ Lalafin: *Gulp*...*gulp*... Ooh, a mature taste. Michiru: Lalafin-chan, amazake is made from malted rice, so there's no alchohol, you know? Lalafin: Eh! Really!? I always thought it was sake! Ichie: I know, right~☆ It makes you think, 'I can put formalities aside for New Year's and drink this, right?' Michiru: Even putting formalities aside, you shouldn't drink sake. Save the alchohol for when you're twenty, okay?♪ Lalafin: I promise~ Wait...huh? Ichie: Hm? Lala-chan, what's up? Lalafin: Promise, promise... Ah! I told Shizuha we'd all do the omikuji's task together. Ichie: Ah! Now that you mention it, I told Tamao the same! Michiru: Well... Michiru: Ta-daah♪ Lalafin: Ah, an omikuji! Ichie: So you had one. Michiru: I drew it before I was separated from Akira and Shiori. Since the three of us are getting along, let's take a look at it♪ Lalafin: Yay! Can I open it? Michiru: Go ahead~♪ Ichie: Then I'll give the drum roll. Announce it when I say, "clang!"☆ Lalafin: Roger! Ichie: Darararara... Michiru: Dararararara... Ichie: Darararara... Clang! Lalafin: Announcement! Our chosen mission is... "The person you are waiting for will not arrive!" Ichie: That ain't right! Michiru: Ahahahaha! Not the 'person you're waiting for' column, the 'performing arts' column! Lalafin: Ahahaha! Ummm... Performing arts, performing arts... There it is! Lalafin: "There's good luck in forming an idol group today"! Michiru: An idol group? That's quite the theme. Ichie: Idol... Uu, it aches, my right arm! Lalafin: An awakening!? Ichie, are you awakening!? Michiru: Ichie-chan, you were an idol in the past, right? Ichie: Eh!? Michiru-chan, you knew? Michiru: Of course~ Don't underestimate my research abilities♪ Lalafin: So that means? Eh, Ichie, you were an idol!? Ichie: In the past♪ Lalafin: Amazing! Michiru: I know a bit about Lalafin-chan, too. You were a sought-after child actress and kid's model while affiliated with an agency. Michiru: Your full intoduction to the stage was in middle school, and since that time your model work appears to have decreased. Lalafin: Wow! You researched me!? Michiru: Ahahaha, it's not a big deal~ It's just a second-hand account from a magazine♪ Michiru: But... This could work, the three of us as idols! Maybe I'll produce us♪ Lalafin: P-Produce...! Ichie: This is getting interesting...! Michiru: By the way, if we're going to do it, we'll be seriously aiming to be Top Idols♪ Ichie: Wait...! If I'm aiming to be a Top Idol, will I have to quit Rinmeikan!? Michiru: No worries! Michiru: These days, idols who excel at specific things are strong! So we'll be aiming to be idols who can sing, dance, and act! Lalafin: That seems pretty cool! Michiru: Is there anything you two want to try after becoming idols? Ichie: Oh, me, me, me! There was something I wanted to do while I was an idol, bur couldn't! Michiru: Go ahead, Ichie-chan. Ichie: A tie-in with a horror movie! I want to sing the theme song and play one of the roles! Michiru: Nice~ What about you, Lalafin-chan? Lalafin: I think it'd be good if I was given each of the catchphrases! Michiru: Catchphrases are part of acting, too--nice, nice~♪ That sort of thing's important! Ichie: Michiru-chan, what are we going to do about our group's name? Lalafin: Ah, that's important! Michiru: Something unique to the three of us would be nice. Let's take a bit and share our opinions. Ichie: Leave it to me! This sort of meeting is so exciting! Lalafin: Yeah, yeah! Unique to us, unique to us~♪
Michiru: Well, everyone, here we go~♪ One, two, three! All: We are "Mirai☆Resume"! Lalafin: "Mirai☆Resume"! It's easy to say and pleasing to hear! Michiru: The 'mi' from Michiru, 'ra' from Lalafin, and 'i' from Ichie--Mirai. And resume can mean summary... Michiru: The charm of three Stage Girls who express themselves through song, dance, and acting--an idol group of the future! Ichie: And that's why we are--- All: "Mirai☆Resume"! Michiru: We've yet to begin our activites, but our formation is complete! Our task was achieved♪ Lalafin: If we could start our activites on a day off or something, that'd be nice! Ichie: Fufufu. My day to shine again as an idol draws near~☆ Michiru: The three of us should go shopping or something this year. We can invite the Seisho girls eventually, too♪ Ichie and Lalafin: Sounds good~♪ Michiru: ...Fufu♪
Tamao's Pride
Shizuha: ---"There's good luck in taking a vow on the shrine ground's stage". Shizuha: That's what's written. How interesting. Tamao: Something we would vow... If it needs to involve all three of us, then it'd be to succeed at the Performance Festival, I guess. Akira: Success at the Performance Festival is a given. There's no need to take a vow. Shizuha: But, while you may say it's a given, I think declaring it before the gods has meaning. Akira: ...I have a vow of my own. Shizuha: Then... How does this sound? Shizuha: First, we'll all vow to succeed at the Performance Festival. And, in addition to that, we'll each make a vow of our own. Shizuha: I'm sure we all have a hidden desire, as well. Our individual vows should be from the heart. Tamao: My... ~flashback~ Tamao: ...They've invited all of us to take part in the Performance Festival! Tamao: Congratulations, everyone! Yuyuko: Whaaat? You serious!? Ichie: We did it! We've cleared the first hurdle on the way to our dream! Rui: This is wonderful! We're going to the Performance Festival together! Fumi: Tamao's dream-- No, the whole group's dream... Now it's mine, too. ~end flashback~ Akira: Very well. Tamao: ...Understood. Shizuha: It's decided, then.
Tamao: So this is the shrine ground's stage... Clerk: ---The stage is ready for whoever is next. Shizuha: Are you both ready? Akira: ............ Tamao: ...I'm fine. Shizuha: Let's go. Student A: Look! The person who just stood on stage, isn't that Siegfeld's Yukishiro Akira!? Student B: And Frontier's Kocho Shizuha! Student C: But, that other girl in the furisode, who is she again? I think she's from Rinmeikan... Tamao: ............ ~flashback~ Tamao: Part of me started hoping that maybe Ichie was right, and qualifying for the Performance Festival would miraculously save our department. Tamao: That was a mistake. Eveything was going so well, and I got too greedy. Tamao: Reality isn't so forgiving. Tamao: But that place filled with dreams and hope, a place where a miracle just might happen... Tamao: I loved that place. ~end flashback~ Tamao: Rinmeikan Girl's School, Performance Department Second-Year, Tomoe Tamao. Shizuha: Frontier School of Arts, Stage Expression Course Second-Year, Kocho Shizuha. Akira: Siegfeld Institute of Music, Acting Department Second-Year, Frau Platin... Yukishiro Akira. Shizuha: We say this now. Shizuha: To succeed in this year's Performance Festival--- Tamao: I vow. Shizuha: I vow. Akira: I vow. Crowd: Waaaaaah! Tamao: ...... Shizuha: Now for our individual vows... Akira: Everything is to demonstrate the pride of the Ruler! For the proof of Siegfeld's superiority! Tamao: ! Akira: Yukishiro Akira will push forward to the center! Walk trembling through the path I clear! Akira: We will display what makes us Siegfeld at the Performance Festival! Shizuha: Even though I said the vow should be from the heart... Are you perhaps saying...the stage is all there is? Shizuha: The path of the absolute Ruler, standing above all. That is not our ideal. Shizuha: I will create the greatest stage, together with the reassuring strength of 23 comrades. Shizuha: Yukishiro-san, your acting ability is truly a magnificent thing, but you don't have to shine alone. Shizuha: ...These are actually Aruru-chan's words, but today I'll vow in her place. Shizuha: A radiant stage with all 24 of us... That's the stage we at Frontier aim for. Shizuha: That's what we'll show you at the Performance Festival. Tamao: ...... Shizuha: Tomoe-san, how about you? Akira: ...What do you vow? You, who couldn't even reach my feet, what do you desire? Tamao: I-- My desire is--- ~flashback~ Tamao: We must stay in the show. We can't let it end here... Akira: Save your speeches for when you're on stage. The curtain has already come down. ~end flashback~ Tamao: I... Rinmeikan's tradition, Rinmeikan's radiance... Tamao: All that is the Rinmeikan Performance Department! I will carve it into this Performance Festival! Tamao: Rinmeikan's tradition, history, radiance. I'll put my all into accompanying you. Michiru: Hehe♪ Both Akira and Shiori are motivated, I'm glad we came. Tsukasa: Siegfeld's pride and Rinmeikan's tradition were both amazing, but our Frontier spirit didn't lose. Lalafin: Shizuha, Frontier spirit~! Shizuha: Fufu. We'll cultivate ourselves together and show everyone a new sight. Tsukasa: Hey! This is a rare opportunity, so let's take a commemorative photo together! Diaochan, Yachiyo - Bond Stories

Videos: Part 1, Part 2
Translation below the cut!
Regarding Diaochan
Yachiyo: Take a look at this~ It's a figurine of the Red Hare♪ I got it from Mei Fan, she said it was a souvenir. Yachiyo: Mei Fan returned home recently, right? Apparently she found it while she was there. Yachiyo: Fufufu, isn't it cute?♪ Shiori was even more overjoyed~ Yachiyo: Why a horse? Hmm, because it made her think of Shiori, maybe? Yachiyo: Just kidding, it was probably just to surprise us, right? Yachiyo: That Mei Fan, seems she didn't even know what horse it was when she bought it, but look, the name is written on the bottom, right? Yachiyo: That's how I knew it was the Red Hare. Right, right, the horse from the Records of the Three Kingdoms. Yachiyo: From there, our conversation jumped to how it'd be nice to do a performance of it~ Yachiyo: The Records of the Three Kingdoms doesn't seem like something Siegfeld would do? You're not wrong there~ Yachiyo: But, don't you think that's what makes it interesting? That feeling of impossibility is one of the things that unexpectedly got me hooked. Yachiyo: Because of that, I got a bit excited talking with Mei Fan about who would do which role if we were to actually perform it. Yachiyo: For Mei Fan, I thought Lü Bu might be good because of her ties to the Red Hare. She herself didn't seem very enthusiastic at first, though~ Yachiyo: Akira-senpai would be Cao Cao and Michiru-senpai would be Zhuge Liang. Right, it fits them, don't you think? Yachiyo: Shiori's role? Well, about that... Fufu. Yachiyo: At first I was considering Cai Wenji, but she's not very well known, right? Yachiyo: So I asked Shiori herself what she would want. Do you know what she said? Yachiyo: She said the Red Hare would be nice. She sure loves horses~ Yachiyo: Me? I couldn't really find a role that would fit me... Yachiyo: What do you think? Yachiyo: ...Diaochan would work? Eh, Diaochan, you mean, the unrivaled beauty? Yachiyo: No way, if you prop me up that much, I'll be embarrassed, ahaha. Yachiyo: Besides, I can't exactly say, "Yep, that's right~" to that, can I?♪ Yachiyo: Hmmm, but... I suppose, leaving the beauty thing aside, Daiochan might fit me pretty well? Yachiyo: She's the type who would jump into a group of enemies alone for the sake of her benefactor. Yachiyo: And there's the way she sows discord with political enemies using her seduction techniques... Yachiyo: Aah, not that I'm saying seduction is my forte, okay~? Yachiyo: I was thinking her amazing honesty, strength of will, and resolution were all pretty me~♪ Yachiyo: Eh~ Stop making that "You're joking, right?" face~! Ahaha. Yachiyo: But, now I really do want to give it a try! I think I'll talk to the others about it after this~ Thanks a lot♪
A Talk About the Allure of a Slit
Shiori: Yachiyo-senpai, what’s that oufit...? Yachiyo: It's Diaochan's outfit. I had the chance to make it, so I did♪ Yachiyo: So? How is it, Shiori? I came up with the design myself~☆ Shiori: Yachiyo-senpai, it's so lovely and stylish...! It really suits you...! Mei Fan: Siegfeld Institute of Music, Acting Department First Year, Frau Rubin--Liu Mei Fan...now entering! Shiori: Mei Fan-senpai, good work today! Shiori: Please look at Yachiyo-senpai's outfit...! Don't you think it's lovely? Mei Fan: Good work today, Shiori. Waah...! Mei Fan: Yachiyo, that outfit's really amazing. Yachiyo: Isn't it~? Shiori: U-Um, hawawa...!? Yachiyo: Hmm? What's wrong, Shiori~? Shiori: The hem just fluttered... The slit... It's really wide. Yachiyo: Oh, this? Yeah, it's easier to move that way, right? Yachiyo: Diaochan may be a songstress, but sword dancing is one of her specialties. There's a lot of intense movement in that, so having the slit like this...see? Shiori: Hawawa! B-But, if you move around that much...! Yachiyo: Aah, could it be you've been charmed by the beauty of a woman's legs? Mei Fan: Yachiyo, it's not that... I think she's embarrassed. It's a lovely outfit, but it doesn't leave much to the imagination. Yachiyo: Iiiit's fiiiine, you think you see something, but really you don't. It's a trick of the design~♪ Yachiyo: It gave you a shock, didn't it? Shiori: Yes, my heart wouldn't stop beating for some reason... Yachiyo: Just what you'd expect from an unrivaled beauty~ Yachiyo: Lü Bu needs to fall for her seduction, so it has to be at least this stimulating. "Right, Lü Bu?" Mei Fan: "...Diaochan, what beauty...!" Shiori: Hauwawawa...! Y-Y-Your faces are so close...! Shiori: So this is adult charm... You two are so lovely...! Yachiyo: Thanks, Shiori♪ Yachiyo: While were at it, I thought up Mei Fan's outfit, too~ Mei Fan: Mine? Yachiyo: Right, an outfit for Lü Bu that matches with Diaochan's. Look, how's this? Shiori: Hawaa~ It's so cool...! Mei Fan: Amazing... If I could wear this on stage, I'd be even more enthusiastic about practice than I am now. Yachiyo: Fufu~n, feel free to praise me more, okay? Oh, right, right. Yachiyo: I came up with Shiori's costume, too. You said you wanted to be the Red Hare, right? Shiori: Yes! Yachiyo-senpai, you remembered! Mei Fan: The...horse? Yachiyo: Here, how is it? Shiori: Waah... It's a horse...! A pure red horse...! Yachiyo: It's pretty good, right♪ Shiori: I want to try wearing it...! I want to be the Red Hare! Shiori: Let's do it, the Records of the Three Kingdoms! Yachiyo: Yeah, I want to make it a reality sometime~ Mei Fan: ...Shiori really loves horses, huh...

Lü Bu, Mei Fan - Bond Stories

Video here (not mine), translation below the cut!
A Strange Souvenir
Mei Fan: Fufu... Yachiyo: Morning. You seem pleased. What are you looking at? Mei Fan: Good morning! Look at these. There's one for you, too, so go ahead and take it. Yachiyo: Thanks~! What is it? ...Figurines? Mei Fan: I bought them at a gift shop when I returned to China the other day. Mei Fan: They may not be capsule toys, but don't you think they have a charm of their own? Yachiyo: They definitely have charm~ Mei Fan: I bought one of each color to give to everyone. Red, blue, yellow, green, and pink... Huh? Mei Fan: There's something carved into the bottom. Red... Hare? Is that the horse's name? Yachiyo: Aah, 'Red Hare'? That's the favorite horse of Lü Bu, a warlord from the Records of the Three Kingdoms. Mei Fan: You're really well-informed. Yachiyo: There was a time I got hooked reading it. It's interesting, the Records of the Three Kingdoms. Mei Fan: ...Is that so? I don't know much about it... Mei Fan: But, I know about the person called Lü Bu. Mei Fan: He betrayed others again and again, and in the end he lost his life due to a betrayal... Yachiyo: What’s with the strange face? Did you remember something about Lü Bu? Mei Fan: ...How do I put it. Lü Bu isn't really held in high regard in China. Mei Fan: His repeated betrayals and moreover, the fact he was defeated, means he's ranked lowly there. Mei Fan: Is it really appropriate to give everyone a souvenir of the favorite horse of such an individual...? Mei Fan: Besides, it's called the 'Red' Hare, so wouldn't the color variation be strange? Yachiyo: Oooh, so that's it~♪ You're as overly serious as ever. Mei Fan: I-I am not! I'm just genuinely concerned. Yachiyo: Do you really need to be that concerned~... If there's different colors, doesn't that mean it's considered popular enough to make them? Mei Fan: Popular...? But if I give Akira-san something weird as a souvenir she might become disillusioned with me... Yachiyo: You really think a souvenir would cause her to become disillusioned with you? Oh, that's right. You like Akira-senpai, don't you? Yachiyo: You don't want her to dislike it. I get it, that feeling. When you give something to someone you like, you worry about even the most trivial things~♪ Mei Fan: ...Someone you like? It's true that I have respect for her! ...Haah. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Yachiyo: ...Well, I'm glad your worries seem to be resolved. But, anyways, the Records of the Three Kingdoms, huh~ Yachiyo: It might be hard making a Siegfeld performance a reality. But thinking of who would do what role could be fun♪ Yachiyo: I wonder... Michiru-senpai could be someone like Zhuge Liang, I guess? She's clever enough to lay traps and such. Mei Fan: Is that so? I think there's a much better role for Michiru-senpai. Mei Fan: Umm... Errr... Uuh, I can't think of a more suitable person...! Yachiyo: For Shiori... Maybe someone like Cai Wenji. She's not exactly well-known, though~ Mei Fan: Eh? Cai...? Who's that? Yachiyo, slow down! Yachiyo: I'd be...maybe Sima Yi? Ah, but that would make me Michiru-senpai's rival, wouldn't it? Yachiyo: I wonder if that would be going a bit too far. Fufu, if I talk about it, I accidentally start getting excited~ Mei Fan: Uuu... I can't follow the topic at all...! Yachiyo: If it annoys you, you'll just have to read the Records of the Three Kingdoms. Mei Fan: I-I will!! When I'm done reading, will you talk with me about it? Yachiyo: Of course~ I look forward to our discussion of it.
Performing Lü Bu
Shiori: Mei Fan-senpai, thank you for the Red Hare figurine! Mei Fan: If it makes you that happy...I'm happy, too. Shiori: It's really cute, I'm so happy♪ I love horses! Shiori: Horses are great... But, also, the Red Hare is amazing! Mei Fan: Eh? Is it really? Shiori: Yes! They say the Red Hare's model is a 'blood-sweating horse'. Shiori: They were called that because their sweat looked like blood. Also, they were said to run 1000 li in a single day. Shiori: One li is about 400 meters, so that's 400 kilometers in a single day...! Shiori: It must have ran as if it were flying...! Aah... So wonderful...! Mei Fan: Sh-Shiori...? Come back to me! I understand what an amazing horse the Red Hare was now! Shiori: I'm glad! It'd be nice if I could show the charm of horses to you all, if even a little♪ Mei Fan: You really like horses, huh... Shiori: Yes! Ah, speaking of the Red Hare, the Records of the Three Kingdoms is a pretty popular work here in Japan. Mei Fan: It seems so. To be honest, I'm not very familiar with it. Mei Fan: There's a play of it in China, too, but it's not as popular there as it is in Japan. Shiori: Wow... Is that so? That's kind of surprising! Mei Fan: I was talking about it with Yachiyo, but I couldn't keep up with the conversation and got frustrated... Mei Fan: So I'm taking the chance to try to read it. And it's really interesting...! Mei Fan: I became so absorbed in reading it, I couldn't sleep! Shiori: I understand that. Once you start reading, you can't stop. Shiori: There's a lot of pretty hardcore fans in Japan, so doing a performance of it might be interesting! Shiori: Ah, but Siegfeld might not be able to handle the theme very well... Mei Fan: Yachiyo said the same. But she tried to imagine the Edels as people from the Records of the Three Kingdoms. Shiori: Waah, that sounds fun...! I definitely think Yukishiro-senpai would be Cao Cao. Shiori: Would you be Lü Bu, because of your connection with the Red Hare? Mei Fan: Lü Bu...? Umm... I think there's someone more appropriate... Mei Fan: Like, what about Zhang Liao!? Shiori: I'm sure Zhang Liao would suit you, but... Why not Lü Bu? He's a popular warlord, you know? Mei Fan: He's not very well-liked in China. I can't really get rid of that bad image of him, either... Mei Fan: Besides, if Akira-san were Cao Cao, then attacking her territory while she's absent... Such cowardice... Shiori: I suppose so... But, I'm sure Yukishiro-senpai would have this to say! Shiori: "Are you rejecting your chosen role, Mei Fan? Do you really think that's acceptable?" ...Like so. Mei Fan: !! ...That's true, as well. That would disqualify me as an Edel! Mei Fan: I'll try considering seriously how to best perform Lü Bu! Mei Fan: Speaking of, he's known for being one of the strongest in a world of war... Action and sword fighting will be crucial. Mei Fan: I'll begin practicing at once! In order to create Lü Bu in my own style, I think I want to try exploring various solutions! Shiori: That's the spirit, Mei Fan-senpai! I'll help you. Mei Fan: Yes! I'll definitely carry this through...! Then, I'll be going to the lesson room, now. Later! Shiori: ...If I were on stage for the Records of the Three Kingdoms, I'd like to be the Red Hare...♪ Fufufu...
