The Autism Directory is an online directory website that aims to pull together the help and support that is out there and signpost autism families to the help they need. It does not intend to duplicate anything that other services provide, just simply to pull it all together in one easy to use website that can be returned to again and again to get information, support and help. The directory is populated by anyone who can share information for the benefit of other individuals, families and professionals who live and work with autism. Whether it is to access help and support in Health, Education, Treatments & Therapies, Personal Support, Living Support, Money & Legal, Recreation & Holidays, Books & Magazines or even finding autism friendly businesses (such as hairdressers), the Autism Directory is growing daily with more and more resources to tap into. The directory covers the UK on a national and local level, and is starting to attract entries from all over the world too. While the Autism Directory team populate what they can with the research they do, it relies on the autism community to share their own information for the benefit of others. So where you find an area of the UK with little or no entries on the directory, that is where we need some extra help and we would be delighted to have more volunteers to help us fill in these gaps. The Autism Directory is a company limited by guarantee with registered charity status with the charities commission; number 1143855. The charity is managed by a team of volunteer Trustees and Chief Executive who can be contacted at [email protected] We also have supporters who help us by providing their services or products either free of charge or at a substantially reduced cost.
