Gemma and Ian chat to Miranda Krestovnikoff and David Kennard.  David is the founder of Neptunes Army of Rubbish Cleaners (NARC), a Welsh charity, who dive to keep the seas litter free and collect a lot of lost fishing gear, such as lobster pots and rope, in order to protect the wildlife and keep healthy habitats and fishing ground. They build up strong relationships with the fishing community in order to work with them, so they can identify when pots or gear is lost at sea. They also return the pots where possible.  One of their Patrons is Miranda Krestovnikoff, a TV presenter in the UK, a diver and author and a lover of UK diving.  Mirandas son, Olly 13, has also taken part in some diving with his mum and the team at NARC.

Ross Mclaren
Gemma and Ian chat to Ross McLaren   Ross is a chemistry teacher in Scotland who dives at the weekends…He talks about the incredible life he seas in the Scottish sea lochs and how breath taking it is.  He has been taking photos using a go pro and more recently the Olympus TG-6. One of the highlights has been working with BBC Scotland and their online platform “BBC the Social” to write, record, present and produce some short videos about diving. The topics have ranged from diving itself and how its helped his mental health, to history of some of our incredible shipwrecks, our impact on the underwater world and even a little one on photography.
As Ross says “I’m no expert in marine biology, history, photography or even diving, I am literally someone who loves taking photos of our underwater world and trying to show it off to the world in what little ways I can”

Adventures diving around Lundy island
Gemma and Ian have spent a few days away in North Devon.  They travelled and camped in the Ford Nugget Plus and stayed on a camp site near Ilfracombe.  Saturday and Sunday they went diving on the east side of the Island of Lundy.  Lundy is famous for diving with seals predominately.  Have a listen and let us know what you think.

Chef Anton Scuba Magician
Gemma and Ian chat to Chef Anton.  Chef Anton is an IDC Staff Instructor with over 500 logged dives and is also an Award-Winning Magician from Hollywood’s Magic Castle.  You may have seen his appearance of Penn and Teller’s Fool Us.  Chef has created a brand new PADI Distinctive Specialty called Scuba Magician which has now over 500 instructors world-wide.
The course teaches divers 15 magic tricks they can do during a safety stop.  Think of it as 15 tricks for 15 feet.  No prior magical skills are needed and all of the tricks are hand-selected to reinforce important scuba concepts such as Narcosis, Nitrogen Absorption, and even Decompression Sickness.  For students, they become empowered with fun and easy to perform magic tricks that can make any dive unique and memorable.
For Instructors, the course has even more added value.  Instructors gain an arsenal of non-diving training aids they can use to teach any PADI course from Open Water up through the IDC.  They gain exclusive access to a Database of magic exclusively designed for scuba instructors as well as an invitation to an Instructor Only Forum which offers an infrastructure for like-minded instructors to share concepts, ideas, and grow as educators/ambassadors for the sport we all love.
