Hitchcocktober Film Festival Obviously we love Hitchcock, so we thought we’d have a film fesitval in his honour. Come and enjoy his most classic films for free in our Eyrie Bar, which has been converted into a pop-up cinema, watching the films in comfort whilst enjoying a cold pint of Laine's craft beer and a chicken dinner from the Birds' celebrated menu. Many of the films will be presented by speakers from The Hitchcock Society, including some of the country’s leading Hitchcock experts. On Saturday 7th October North By Northwest will be introduced by Dr Stephane Ducket. The widely published clinical psychologist’s fascination with Hitchcock came out of a four-year study how creatives adapt to aging, and lead to his book ‘Hitchcock In Context’. Then on Saturday 14th local historian and film lover John Rogers will be giving his interpretation of one of Hitchcock’s most interesting films, the one-take Rope. John is a writer and filmmaker – having directed London Overground – as well as co-presenter and producer of ‘Ventures & Adventures in Topography’ and author of ‘This Other London’. The programme has been put together by Simon Mortimer – programmer of community cinema The Royston Picture Palace. We will be announcing more speakers over the next week, alongside details of the ultimate quiz for Hitchcock buffs on Wednesday 25th and a special ‘theatre menu’ and drinks perfect for the film.  Cost: Free Time: 8pm, except The Birds at noon Book: www.eventbrite.com or ask at the bar
