Graveyard Etiquette🪦
Tumblr media
Before you go protect yourself you don't want a spirit attached to you.
Bring coins as offerings to the gatekeepers.
Bring with you offering for the spirits (food, water, flowers ect...) and leave it by a tree or away from the headstones for the spirits.
Make sure you don't step on anyone and apologiz if you do by accident.
Clean up neglected tombstones.
Ask before you take dirt. Use your intuition or divination to get a response.
Don’t take anything that is left for the dead.
Don't leave trash behind and if you find trash clean it.
Leave the way you came.

Praise, Praise! O earth in spring, life has come again The darkness has faded, tis a beginning. Righteous, holy pure sacred earth Blood of the divine runs through Crags and valleys low and deep Coursing blue rather than red. Greens, blues pinked hues That dance and butterflies, and bumblers Nymph about their form. Praise to she Oh honey eyed black skinned matron of nature and life. Praise be!

Full Moon in Scorpio,April 23rd 2024
On Tuesday April 23rd, 7:49 p.m. Eastern standard Time, we are going to be experiencing a full moon in Scorpio.
This full moon is thematically aligned with motifs surrounding healing, rebirth and second chances.
With both the Moon in Scorpio and on the Ascendant, themes of rebirth, death and horror are highlighted prominently this full moon. We are going to be faced with crises surrounding our sense of security, home place and well-being. With a Mars ruled sign at the helm we can expect explosivity, volatility and violence to take center stage during and around this full moon. Mars for this full moon is currently in the fifth house conjunct Neptune and Saturn. Mars and Saturn are enemies, this energy creates a hyper focused, stressed, anxious and drained quality. There's a lot of pressure for success, and karmic influences on how we're spending our energy. This indicates major power plays and disruptions surrounding places of hegemonic power, governmental control and business. Throwing in Neptune, there is exacerbated delusions, violent fantasies, naval warfare and even abuse of substances leading to injury during this full moon.
Risk-taking behavior is not advisable during this full moon, nor is gambling as it can lead to an unnecessary expenditure of precious resources.
There is an incredibly heady, sensual, provocative and enticing energy to this full moon that made tempt you to physical action of a libidinous variety. This can make one impulsive or unwise and how they go about romantic and physical connections. This tension in this area can facilitate breakups, conflicts and issues in already established relationships. It could even prompt breakups with people who no longer resonate with your path.
Spiritually, this configuration is incredibly potent. With both Scorpio and Pisces heavily at play we're going to be having supernatural occurrences, visitations from the dead and otherworldly beings. If it is within your path, you are gently advised to seek counsel and/or blessings from the dead during this lunation and to listen to your intuition.
All of this intense and heavy energy is undergirded by the t-square configuration between the Moon, Pluto and the Sun. This t-square configuration is all about transformation and illumination of the darkest parts of the self. Symptoms of anxiety, depression and other mental ailments may be amplified during this full moon in order to force us to confront the parts of ourselves we may be ashamed of. There is an escalation here, as Pluto is mutiny, power shifts and dynamics the sun is authority figures and the moon is the people in electoral astrology. There may be an overthrowing of a government on or around this full moon that is quite significant.
This all sounds very frightening However this full moon as stated prior is all about healing, rebirth and second chances. With the Sun in Taurus in the 6th and mercury Rx in Aries in the 6th conjunct the NN, collectively, we're being given the opportunity at a second chance to cultivate health, healing and productivity in our environment and around us. This is a time of massive healing of the past, trauma and pain that we've gone through.
With Jupiter conjunct Uranus trining Ceres, we can expect a lot of monumental and positive changes in environmental procedure in conservation efforts, renewable energy and agriculture. Similarly, in the world of medicine the potential for revolutionary or experimental techniques arises, especially surrounding dietary science, the bones and herbal medicine.
All in all, this is a moon of healing and passion.
The cards for this full moon include: eight of swords, ten of wands, ace of pentacles, seven of wands.
Spirit acknowledges the collective malaise that has befallen the collective. However, this is a rather encouraging message that this moon will illuminate the bindings of our mind and liberate us from powerlessness. There's an opportunity for physical growth in some way for the collective and an acknowledgment that we are overwhelmed, overburdened and overworked. But with the seven of wands, do not give up! We are close to achieving something big. Keep going and keep having faith.
Workings-
•Healing
•Transformation

The Big Queen. Art by Katelan V. Foisy, from The Hoodoo Tarot.
Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield. — Isaiah 21:5
Plant: Jezebel Root/Louisiana Iris
The image A Carnival Indian queen smiles as she displays her Black Hawk bucket. Black Hawk (1767-1838) was a leader of the Sauk and Fox tribe. He was a powerful warrior who was well known for his bravery and resisting colonial encroachment on his land and way of life. A Spiritualist leader from the Midwest named Mother Leafy Anderson petitioned the spirit of Black Hawk for protection in her temple. Today many Spiritualists and rootworkers in Louisiana and beyond work with Black Hawk to ensure victory against their enemies.
The tradition of Carnival Indians in New Orleans, as we know them today, dates back to the early eighteenth century. When enslaved Africans arrived in Louisiana, many of them sought refuge among the Indigenous people and were offered it. As a result, the cultures and bloodlines mixed, and their descendants still pay homage to the spirit of love, freedom, friendship, and resistance that brought their ancestors together. This thereby made the Carnival Indian a symbol of boundless beauty and invincibility.
Though most Carnival Indians may be considered patriarchal to some, due to the hypervisibility of men and boys, the Big Queens play an essential role in their tribes. The archetype of the Big Queen is not only a vision of beauty, with her ornately embellished garments, but she is also an artist, a teacher, a peacemaker, and a protector of this sacred tradition.
The Big Queen is everything.
Meaning When The Big Queen appears in a reading, you are being asked to consider your roots in regards to “mother wit.” What would your ancestors say about whatever is going on in your life? What advice would they give? How would they handle the situation? The wisdom of our mothers is a portal to the past. That doesn’t mean that you must do things exactly as they did or perceive the world exactly as they perceived it, because that would be impossible. What it does mean is that they should be given an opportunity to speak to you via your consideration. This not only connects us with the women in our bloodline but also with nature as a whole. The change of the seasons and the cycles of birth, death, and decay will always be, but it is the space between that  a Big Queen inhabits. It is the spirit of continuity and the joy that its tru comprehension brings that ensure nothing is ever truly lost, even if it can’t be found for now. Therefore there is always abundance, always beauty, and always a reason to celebrate.
If you receive The Big Queen in a reading, consider the following:
• How do you give and receive pleasure? How do others, and the world, come into play?  • Do I accept abundance into my life? How?  • Eat, drink, and be merry! • All that glitters isn’t gold, but it sure is pretty! • Do I accept compliments for my beauty and/or style with grace?  • What aspect of your life do you nurture most? What aspect could use more nurturing?  • Which family members or friends do I nurture most? Am I neglecting anyone who deserves my attention?  • Do I purposely seek reasons to smile and laugh out loud every day?  • How often do you reflect on the beauty of being alive and of being you?  • Am I still connected to nature and the Earth, or have I lost my way?  • What might I do on a regular basis to help me restore my sense of balance in a hectic world?  • Go camping, take a walk in the park, and maybe buy a plant or three.  • How does all the knowledge I’ve accumulated, or spiritual work I’ve done, benefit my family and my community? What is my legacy?  • What does your mother or mother figure have to say about that?

What Native people say about the use of sage: you can use sage, but you cannot smudge as nothing you are doing (waving sage around) is actually smudging. Smudging is a ceremony and you are, we promise, not smudging. Please buy sage from either us, or someone who sources the sage from us. White sage may not be considered endangered by the US government but corperate sourcing is making it difficult for us to source sage for our own religious purposes. Let alone to sell it.
What white people hear: never use sage ever, don’t ever buy it, don’t own it, don’t even look at it.
Look, y’all. There’s a couple of facets to my talk today.
1) Yes! You can buy sage! You really, truly can! Buy it from either native sellers (go to a powwow! Eat our food, buy our stuff, watch some dancing!) Or buy it from a seller who sources the sage from native people. Pick one. And no, buying it from 5 Below doesn’t count.
2) you CANNOT smudge. This isn’t just you “shouldn’t”— this is a YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF SMUDGING. Waving a sage stick around your doorways IS NOT SMUDGING. It is smoke clensing. Smudging, depending on the tradition and tribe, could easily have dancing and drums involved. You, as a white person, do not have the cultural BACKGROUND to even know how it works. At all. Period.
3) please, for FUCKS SAKE, stop making posts here on tumblr where you tell other white people about cultural appropriation and what they can and cannot do. Please stop, your license has been revoked because none of you bother to get the facts right. We native people are FULLY CAPABLE OF DOING IT OURSELVES. Consider instead: a) reblogging our posts where we talk about it! We’re here! We have made posts!! b) Making a post that states what we said and then LINKS BACK TO US. Screenshot with a link if you must. Stop centering your own voices in these conversations. You are already centered in everything, stop centering yourselves in a native space.
I’m tired of this nonsense, y’all.
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk ™

This post is almost a decade old...wow. I was a sophomore in highschool. Reading this made me almost start crying.
I remember how exciting it all was, getting into rootwork and spirituality. I remember how fun it was, and that's something I think many of us sometimes forget. The importance of fun in our religious/spiritual journey.
Don't forget to have fun, don't forget what the magick used to feel like when you started
Liquor of Lust
I made a test batch of a new lust oil, it was incredibly potent, not only did it work rapidly, me and my girls saw results almost immediately after the application. I need to add more feminine energy to the mixture though, it’s such a brutally masculine brew, it was only attracting cliche Masculine Archetypes, which isn’t an issue, it’s just not what we were going for. I just wanted to share this with y'all. I was really pleased, thank God, thank the Ancestors, and thank the Spirits. :D

Total Solar Eclipse: April 8th, 2024,
This Solar eclipse on April 8th 1:27 pm starting in the state of TX and ending in Main for the U.S packs quite a punch. Places and people where the eclipse is visible will be most impacted, and of course please check houses and personal planets on the axis of Aries and Libra to see where you will be most impacted.
This eclipse is all about initiation regarding major reform surrounding ideas of nationalism and homeplace with a Cancer rising. With Cancer ruling the uterine reproductive system, I wouldn't be surprised if a major theme surrounding reproductive rights was brought to head this eclipse, as well as major conflicts surrounding immigration, borders, and national identity. With the ruler of the ascendant being in Aries, we can expect explosions, harm and destruction to play a major role as well within the overarching theme of this eclipse.
This destructive energy is hoisted up in the 10th house for this eclipse showing that there's going to be a broadcasting of the gory details in a shocking and upsetting way. This eclipse is taking place with a hard conjunction to Chiron, illuminating our collective wounds surrounding war, destruction, and patriarchal ways of being. The aforementioned configuration is square Ceres in Capricorn denoting that this is going to be a time of mass end and brutal climax.
With the ruler of the 10th house and eclipse ruler in the 8th house in Pisces, along with the influence from Ceres, we can expect the reaper to come for major political figures in a jarring and showy way. With the sixth house Ceres placement, and even the eighth house influence, this could be a significant “self-reapping” of a prominent political figure or even a secret taking out of a figure.
Mars is conjunct Saturn by one degree in the 8th house in Pisces, showing that there is a karmic exposure of secrets surrounding shared resources. Pay close attention to taxes during this time particularly institutions that deal with our taxes, as their rear ends will be exposed. Similarly, religious institutions as well are also going to be exposed surrounding practices, ideologies and behind the scenes behavior that's going to create schism and redirection of funds. This is going to come as quite a shock to the world, with Jupiter being conjunct Uranus and the 10th house, it is going to cause a major impact on not only the economy, but the environment. With comet 12P swinging past earth during this time until June 2024 which it only does in its eccentric elliptical orbit every 71 years, we can expect seismic activity, vulcanism, unrest and the fall of empires, how so…medieval, no?
There's going to be a major standoff in the global legal system as well with Ceres square Mars and Saturn, especially regarding crimes done in the dark, under the guise of religion and surrounding death. On a less grand stage, the federal legal system is going to be going through reform and reconsideration. Pay very close attention in particular to legal proceedings surrounding Donald Trump during this time.
The energies of this eclipse are somewhat like the ten of swords, where you hit rock bottom and have no choice but to change. This definitely marks a major pivoting point and a point of diplomatic relations with Venus being in the ninth house conjunct Neptune. Divinity and Destiny is at play here and with the North node in the ninth house, I cannot stress this enough, Creator is involved in the world right now. Destiny has a heavy hand move wisely.
The cards I pulled for this eclipse are as follows: 9 of cups reversed, 5 of cups reversed, 10 of pentacles reversed, 9 of wands.

Spiritual shrine for your ancestors Boveda espiritual
There are many way to set it up but for those that dont know what to do or how to set it up I have created a s-veda Espiritual + Shrines + Ancestor Altars
A spiritual altar and an ancestor altar are known to be used interchangeably.  In addition to a spiritual altar, I also have an ancestor altar which is slightly different in set up but used for similar purposes. An ancestor altar is set up on the floor/ground and in most traditions the ancestors essence is housed in a sort of walking stick where the energy of that ancestor is housed, known as Egguns.
Where a spiritual altar is to elevate guardian angels, god’s appointed guardians, spirit guides and ancestors, an ancestor altar is used to ground your energy and a place of reverence and recognition. All shrines and altars are centers of elevation. Elevating your spirits and self to higher vibrations and projections.
Offerings: An offering is a sort of sacrifice or connection you make with the entity or energy you have the altar set up for.  For an ancestor altar you may want to set up things your ancestors liked.  I place coffee, bread rum and many other basic items as offerings to the spirits.  Offerings “feeds” or rather empowers the energy you’re working with. Sacrifices can come in many forms. You can give up a bad habit that is preventing you from elevating thus starving the lower self and feeding your purpose.
 Common types of offerings: OPTIONAL
Food you cook (give as an offering to give thanks for providing food to your family) removed 3 days later
Crystal, stones, gems: They carry vibrations you can charge at your altar and use.
Liquor: Ever heard of wines and spirits? Liquor like many things has essence or spirits that enliven the ancestors and spirits.
Bread: Symbol for abundance, life and the cosmic body.
Flowers to bring life and new energy to your altar
Photos  symbols of the energy you work with.
Prayers: Any prayer will do.  Prayers are forms of offerings as you’re pouring yourself into the moment. BOOK RECOMMENDATION  IS PATH OF OUR ANCESTORS
