I love the mutual respect Hermione and Professor Mcgonagall have for each other. I like to think that after Hermione walked out of Divination, she went to Professor Mcgonagall’s office and they had tea and biscuits, ranted about Professor Trelawney, and bonded a bit. When Hermione got older and there is no longer the student teacher dynamic, they would become close friends (with plenty of intellectual debates!)

I just finished Throne of Glass (Sarah J Maas) and I am vaguely exhausted - this is not to say I didn’t love the story, because I found myself really getting into it, despite it not being something that I would usually pick to read.

This is so so important.

Someone with a social anxiety disorder will never get tired of hearing you say:

“I’m here for/with you” “I like you” “I love you” “I value you as a person” “Your opinions matter to me” “I’ll go with you if it’s too scary” “No matter what your anxiety tells you I’m not going anywhere” “Your feelings are valid”

Especially when they’re anxious Especially when they’re anxious Especially when they’re anxious

Even if you’ve already said it. Say it again. And again. Please. Cause it may seem silly to someone without S.A.D., but it’s actually really reassuring to be reminded of having support even if we were just reminded last week, or last month, or yesterday. It’s important. Really important. Cause the anxiety will often lead us to feel alone, unloved, like the person might go away if we share our feelings, even when we know it’s not true. It’s a million times easier to be convinced by someone else than by our own anxious brains sometimes.

I can’t believe how amazing Dylan was in that episode.

Dylan really understood the issue and knew exactly how to calm the situation. He even steps up and lets David believe that he is “selfish” and that David is doing Dylan a “favour” by going with the mental health team, just to help David get better.

And it wasn’t only to avoid the pain and stress of being sectioned but Dylan knows exactly what it’s like to break down at work and to feel ashamed and embarrassed and Dylan shelters David from them by helping David take control of the problem and having dignity and strength to go with the mental health team willingly in front of his colleagues.

I’m fairly behind on Casualty really (shameful, I know) so I guess I just need to have a binge session pretty soon!

I’m into my third week of placement now, and it’s amazing. I’m teaching Year 4, so age 8 and 9 (arguagbly 8 going on 18 with some of the attitude floating about, but I love them all nonetheless!) It’s exhausting, and I have to be really careful with my mental health, but so far I’ve loved it all :D

I’m still here, more or less :D Tentative steps back into the Shoelace Fandom because I’ve been inactive in it for soooooo long I’m not entirely sure what the situation is or anything anymore! Have I missed anything huge?

I’m on teaching placement for the time being so I can’t promise vast amounts of activity - but my lack of fanfiction is constantly on my mind!

Nope I’m broken, omg no! I can’t imagine Casualty without Dylan, and I’ve only seen his second round of episodes, so I can’t imagine what all you people thought the first time he left!!!

YOU KNOW WHAT KILLS ME IS THAT ONE DAY ILL BE WATCHING CASUALTY AND THERELL BE SOMETHING HAPPENING AND ILL SAY “Awww Lofty used to do that!” OR “Omg Dylan would totally have said that.” AND SOMEONE WILL GO “So who’s that then?”
