A practice is something you built, it’s very organic like an ecosystem of rituals, knowledge, words, material objects, ressources. Like the branches of a tree it sometimes dies and sometimes branches out, you builds more in one direction or choose to work more in another one. Even if you feel like you are stagnating in your practice, or you don’t know what direction to choose, you have to start somewhere. And with time you build your practice like the gardener maintains their garden.

Not a gradient yarn! The warp is made up of 12 different yarns, that we add to the warp 8 at a time. We’d do six passes on the warping mill, then drop one color and add another, going down the rainbow gradient. We also didn’t prevent crossovers while making the warp, to make the semi-random pattern
Here’s the link for the pattern, though the guild member running the project made some changes

I helped thread my first group project with the guild! It was my first time using a loom that wasn’t a frame loom :) We’re making random exchange towels and I’m very excited for when the setup finishes and it’s my turn to weave my towel. I plan on wearing the bandana I wove for Kirke while I weave, and the completed towel will probably go on Her shrine 🥰
#the yarn is from brassards in montreal#i can list the specific colors if anyone is interested but any rainbow gradient will produce the same effect#and it also looks really pretty in a limited palette#weaving
