Being in the presence of royalty was, unnerving, to say the least. However, as Jay heard the light tone of voice used by the prince, the Blue ninja visibly relaxed a little. As if a physical weight had just been removed from his shoulders. Oblivious to any alternative intention the Prince may have secretly possessed, the brunette jumped at the chance to give the blonde a tour. His face lit up and he beamed at Lloyd.

"Oh yeah!! Sure, I'd love to give you a tour!" He exclaimed, a genuine grin adorned on his freckled face. "I can show you around, and you can see what other cool things I managed to whip up! We have a lot of our own unique tech thanks to yours truly. Oh, and Nya, of course. Heh." He wildly gestured with his hands as he chattered on and on. Although, he reeled himself in near the end as he almost forgot about Nya, but didn't forget to give her credit for the work they did together. A shy smile formed on his face for a moment, before he gestured for their guest to follow. "Uh, anyways, right this way, Prince Lloyd!"

Having emerged from the depths of the ship, Jay soon found himself on deck with Prince Lloyd himself. As such, the Blue ninja couldn’t help but freeze, body stiffening in place. What was he supposed to say or do in the presence of royalty again? A few moments of anxious silence ticked by as the brunette tried to keep calm. Although, his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Lloyd speaking up in an inquiry. This caused him to jump a little, eyes growing wide.

When he recovered from his shock, he laughed a little nervously. Scratching the back of his head, he took a few steps forward and approached the young royal.

“Yeah-yeah!” He stuttered at first. “That’s right! Heh, I fixed her up myself.” He said with a grin, leaning against the railing of the ship, and patting the surface of the wood with a gloved hand. “I gotta admit, I’ve had a bit of help along the way. But I did most of the repairs on my own. It was me who even gave the ship the ability to fly!” He blabbered. Now that he had opened his mouth, he just kept going.

            Lloyd’s eyes widen both in mock interest and genuine surprise. They knew the lighting and water ninja were quite handy with technology but hadn’t realized on what scale. It was one thing to make repairs on the thing and fix up their friend, but REBUILDING and entire ship that used technology that was yet to be implemented into the rest of the world was impressive.

               He also realized how nervous the other acted around him though. It was likely that it was just because of his status but he’d have to be careful to not gain too much attention.

            “Do you mind giving me a tour?” He asked, smiling and making sure to keep his voice light. “I’d love to see more, but everyone lives here so it doesn’t feel right to just wander on my own.”

As she spoke, he listened. Jay's electric blue eyes were wide and attentive. A large grin was plastered on his face, since he was clearly expecting colorful details and complicated reasoning. But the reality was actually rather simple. He blinked in surprise, raising his eyebrows. "Oh, okay." He replied. With a pop of his lips, he fidgeted a little from where he sat beside her. Another rare silence hovered over the lightning ninja as he glanced away for a moment, before looking back at Peach. "Y'know, I've always thought about what it would be like to have a sister. Or, just a sibling in general." He added.

It was his curiosity and an endless supply of questions that brought the Blue Ninja to the princess’s side once again. He stood next to her, exercising a rare amount of silence. Although, it was clear that it was taking every fiber of his being to hold it all in. This was evident in the way he carried a small amount of uncomfortable tension in his frame and kept his lips sealed shut. Jay glanced over at Peach with his vibrant blue eyes, smiling a little awkwardly. He couldn’t hold himself back any longer and quickly blurted out the first of his many inquiries. “Sooo, uh, alternate universe eh? I wanna know, what’s it like?”

The princess looked at the other at the alternate of her sibling, when he made that question, well. It was normal that he wanted to know more, wasn’t it? If she were in his position, she would be doing the same.

                            “Well… it’s somewhat difficult to explain, but big brother- 

                                   I-I mean, Jay. All you have to know is that it doesn’t 

                                   change much from this universe, except for me…”

Says her to him, looking somewhat apologetic for the words ‘big brother’ force of habit, this wasn’t her true brother, this wasn’t her Jay, and it was clear as the day, or they would be doing something trashy… like dueting and memeing in Tik Tok or ‘fighting’ with each other as the siblings they are.

The words from the Wind Master caused for the boy in blue to let out another round of shy laughter. Hearing Kasumi's flirtatious tone made him blush even more. "Yeah-yeah, of course! We can hang out whenever you want!" He stuttered at first, an obvious sign of his anxiousness. Jay kept a lopsided grin on his face, scratching at the back of his head nervously. "Because we're-" He was then cut off as Kasumi hugged him, which stunned him into brief silence. "Friends?" He finished, blue eyes wide with shock. After a second or two had ticked by, it was then that the redhead would hug her back and return the embrace. He buried the lower half of his face into her shoulder, hoping that she wouldn't see him turn as red as Kai's gi. The lighting ninja also hoped she couldn't hear how rapidly his heart was beating at the moment.

The reaction and praise he received from her only further fueled the jokester’s ego. Jay struggled with his confidence but thrived when people appreciated his sense of humor. As a result, he visibly perked up, his posture becoming a little taller. He grinned widely, letting out a bit of laughter. “Of course it is! I’m hilarious! Coming up with great jokes and puns is a real breeze for me.” Said the Lightning Elemental, laughing even more and giving her a wink.

Although, the teasing of the Wind Elemental surprisingly didn’t go unnoticed by Jay. Kasumi’s tone of voice alone made him blush a little, hints of pink tinging his cheeks. He laughed again, this time doing so with a bit of nervousness. “Uh, heh, spend more time together? Ya mean, you wanna hang out or something? With me?” He asked, smiling a little. There was a hint of shyness in his expression as his electric blue eyes met with her green tones. “Cos, I’m sure we can draft some ideas for what we can do. If we were to spend more time together, like you said.”

The wind master can ALMOST laugh at the wind puns he came up with on his own, though she will CONTINUE to be more curious about the Lightning master and become more friendly towards him. After all he doesn’t seem very BAD towards her liking. Suddenly, the WIND master had also made another chuckle which ESCAPED  her light pink lips. Wielding her iron fan to wave herself some more air. She have some more TIME to chat with him really is not like she have nothing else better to do with herself besides her FREELANCE missions. As emerald hues focus on his to listen to the Lightning master’s dialogues which interested her more for him.

“ Tehee~! Pfff! Of course, Jay.  That’s what I actually mean’t. We can spend more time together. Even LONGER or short doesn’t MATTER to me, or to us, Jay~” She replied with a small giggle at the puns he ESCAPED on his lips which her tone turns out to be a teasing or FLIRTING way. And she can also hear and see he is NERVOUS or embarrassed of the way it looks to her OPINION and she almost made a teasing grin on her expression afters spotting that. “ After all, we are now friends~ ” She replied to Jay, as she would approach to him to give him a friendly hug as it stands. Besides, she CANNOT wait to spread time with him.

okay this is something i needed to hear today so i’m making sure everybody on my dash hears it

you don’t have to write your canon character exactly as they are canonically portrayed.

you don’t have to hear their voice in the dialogue you’re writing.

you don’t have to know what’s going on inside their head all the time.

you don’t have to know what they would say in every situation.

DON’T  compare yourself to canon because canon is the foundation of a character, and the whole point of writing is to develop your own take on a character. nobody writes a canon character perfectly, and nobody writes them the exact same.

please understand that canon is just putty for you to work with, and that it’s so much more fun to just write your portrayal the way that you want to.

His expression, to begin with, was blank. There was no anxiety, distress, nor enthusiasm depicted upon his face in the over-exaggerated way it usually did. Only a slight crease between his Auburn brows made itself evident as he blinked in surprise. A few seconds ticked by as rare silence hung in the air surrounding the Blue Ninja.

But then, her question was answered with a cheerful smile and his face lit up like a Christmas Tree. Out of the blue, like lightning materializing from a thundercloud, a rather loud exclamation abruptly followed. “Yeah, of course! You may have blown me away with your sneaking abilities, but I don’t see why we can’t be friends.” He said with a lighthearted chuckle. “It’ll take more than that to prevent me from making a new friend.” He added reassuringly, offering a kind smile that contained a hint of mischief. “Quite frankly, I’m shocked that you would suggest it would.”

At first she want kinda more HARD on the Lighting Master but had figure she was starting to like him more because he seems very ENTERTAINING even though hes more louder which also she find AMUSING as well. She was only being COCKY and teasing towards him for fun. Something tells her she is going to start to like him more in the future but she wants to see hows that is  going to work first to be honest. She was ONLY testing him really. Just then the Wind Master shrugged her shoulders as she was now displaying complete AMUSING chuckled then fanning herself with the trusty weapon shes WIELDING in front of he as emerald hues focus on his blue ones. This kind of curiosity was still a goal awaits for the both of them.

“ Well, well, your sense of humor is still quite amusing as ever, Jay~” She replied with a small giggle at that.”  I can’t make any promises, but this time I will be more friendly to you for now on after all I really enjoy having a nice small chat with you and hopefully we can possibly spend more time together~” She added, creating a light tease towards him as she observed everything about him approaching to him real slowly, Jay BEAT her height but it doesn’t stop her. He was starting to be more intruding to the Wind master really.

"Of course I care!" He cried, blue eyes frantically searching over her for injury. Jay gasped at what he saw, holding her hand tightly. Seeing the Master of Wind in such a broken state caused for tears of his own to brim in his eyes. It was very difficult for him to stay calm right now. His blue tones widened as Kasumi spoke of a she, someone who must have been the cause of this.

Leaning closer, he called out to her. "Wait! Kasumi! Who is she?? What's her name?!" He almost yelled, his worried voice loud and panicked. It was all in vain, it seemed, for the other ninja soon passed out. "No no no no! Kasumi, stay with me!!" He exclaimed, keeping a firm hold on her bloodied hand. The first sign of tears appeared, sliding down his cheeks from the corners of his eyes. But he soon released her hand in favor of attempting to treat her. Tearing off a piece of his own gi, he tried to use it to stop the bleeding.

As blue met green, Jay’s own sapphire gaze widened in horror. His jaw dropped at the sight before him, a picture of shock and concern elaborately depicted on his face. The Blue ninja wasted no time in rushing to her side, soon kneeling beside her. “Oh my gosh, what happened??!” He cried out, his voice shaking with worry. The Redhead reached out to gently hold her arm, while the other carefully resided on her back. “I know you can handle yourself, you’re more than capable. But please, let me help you!” He pleaded, worried she would insist otherwise.

“ O-Ooh…Jay…you cared…” Replied to him softly and then she would continue her words as she proceed to let him help him by NODDED her head slowly, the pain was very worst in her systems as she stared her hues at the Lightning Ninja, everything was still woozy to her then place a hand to his cheek and felt his grasp on her. Tears now suddenly appeared in her hues out of nowwhere. “ Okay…..just PLEASE don’t face the that monster herself. She is dangerous and it was a…base choice. Her name is…..her name is…” She tries to finished each sentence and suddenly she passed out as her soft gore hands were no longer in his figure as it goes to the ground instantly, her head tilt to the other side.

          Lloyd was…disappointed in his current predicament (to put it lightly). The palace’s destruction to get the mask hadn’t gone exactly as planned AND his gang should have just picked him up during that point instead of leaving him with the ninja. He knew the ninja would fight hard to keep him ‘protected’ but getting trapped in wasn’t planned; after that the possibility of ever getting away on his own during the event went right out the window.

             Making any kind of plans or communication now was going to be extremely hard. But Lloyd knew he had to just keep on a fake face and play nice until he could get away again.

             He perked up at the sound of the door opening and watched as the blue ninja came through, joining him on the deck of the Bounty. Fake…nice. Lloyd decided that making simple conversation wouldn’t hurt.

          “This ship..” He started, leaning against the balcony and looking down at the clouds beneath them. “It’s been destroyed many times right? Have you all rebuilt it on your own?”
