Working on doing little studies to flesh out the world and practice object and background art.  Oracle’s rune bag. He has many methods of telling fortunes, but these runes are one of his favourites.

Character Concept for Roo, elven Master of the butterfly house Keene used to belong to. Austere and ruthless to a fault, Roo’s butterfly house maintains one of the highest standards and best reputations throughout the Seelie, frequented by celebrities and nobles alike. He has a not-so-subtle bias against the Unseelie and brooks no opposition, especially from one of his former employees...

Character Concept for Oracle. One of the very few vampires that returned to the Fae before they sealed themselves off from the human world, Oracle is the name given to him somewhat mockingly by the villagers- his chosen name is Dorian, a name he found in a human book and like the shape of. He's an exceptionally accomplished fortune teller, but his readings are rarely straight forward and usually full of strange instructions and seeming nonsense, which is why he's generally regarded as a swindler by most of the townsfolk, preying on gullible travellers. Keene, however, puts a great deal of faith in his readings...

Character Design Concept for Shadow, A Djinni of the Unseelie court who has made a huge success of himself in the Seelie realm as a tailor. His sewing skills are so remarkable and his clothing enchantments so unbreakable he is called on to sew for Kings, Queens, Nobles and the highest Courtesans, which is where he first met Keene.  A charming rogue with a very specific taste for androgynous pixie types, Shadow once again bumps into Keene at the rundown Butterfly House inn, where the story begins.

Character concept design for Silver, the woefully sheltered bastard son of a hugely prominent apothecary and potion mogul, he started engineering potions into teas- palatable, cheap, short lived versions of normal potions. His family was highly unimpressed when they discovered his side hobby- the low price and accessibility would decimate the potion market- so they desroyed everything.  Resentful, he struck out on his own but lost everything within a few days as his naive and sheltered upbringing made him easy pickings for swindlers and thieves.  Until he stumbles upon a rundown inn…

We won’t meet him for some time into the story, but I think Kai-Li is the most appropriate cast member to ring in the Chinese New Year!

Character concept design for Keene, a pixie ex courtesan, fired for having a relationship with an unseelie (though their ex boss will vehemently deny such allegations) who now co-owns and works at a very run down inn called “The Butterfly House” with their partner.
