Aries. (March 21-April 19)
The Leader of the Zodiac. The Warrior. The Trailblazer. New Beginnings.
Ruled by the big, red, warrior-planet, Mars, Aries packs that powerful and energetic punch that we ALL need to get going. Being the first ain’t easy, but those with prominent Aries placements in their charts (think in general - Sun, Moon, Rising, Mars, Mercury) know all about breaking barriers and what it means to really feel the fire burning within to get things done.
When the Sun moves into Aries, it begins a new Solar Year. Cosmically speaking, it’s the Sun’s birthday. It also marks the beginning of spring, when the seeds in the ground begin to take root, and what has been buried in the soil begins to grow. The weather becomes warmer, inviting us to get back outside, where we can visually take in the new growth happening for the trees that lost their leaves during the colder months of the previous fall and winter seasons. The birds begin chirping to signal their return, the grass starts to become greener, and everything in nature rises to the occasion of doing its part.
What is beautiful about this time of year, regardless of whether you look at it cosmically or seasonally, is that it truly marks a time of re-birth and re-cycling.Many trees are left bare to brave the coldest months of the year without their leaves, animals migrate and burrow, the days get shorter, while we are given less energy from the sun. Certainly we as humans stand to lose something as well amongst all of the shifting and cycling?
We can look at Aries season as an energetic spark to a new personal cycle as well. Part of preparing for the new is evaluating the old and the lost. I am personally taking this time to do some reflecting on the past year. What was taken from my life? What needed to be removed to make space for new growth? And yet, in all of this reflecting, it is really easy to focus on loss. Why? Because loss causes discomfort. Keep in mind that the level of discomfort is directly related to the loss; but the bottom line is, we all know what it feels like to lose.
Aries season gives us the fiery spark that we need to rise from our losses so that we may view them differently, all while giving us that energetic support from the sun to remind us that new beginnings are part of what it means to be alive. It comes to ignite the warrior within and prompt us to take what we have been learning and cultivating within during the past year and DO SOMETHING WITH IT. It’s a call for new action and even some re-action, depending on where you are on your journey.
Where can you channel your inner warrior? How can you put your fire to good use? What bridges have been burned so that you can use the rubble to build new ones?
Whatever it is that you do during this time, remember that your mind is the soil of all of the things that you are trying to grow, so fill it with good stuff!
AND whatever you do, don't forget to LET YOURSELF BLOOM!!!!
All my love <3
