Festival Season Blues
As many of you know, warm weather, spring fashion, and a busy gym usually all indicate the approach of what many young adults like to call “festival season”. This is best described as the time of the year that tickets go on sale to see artists by the dozens in venues across the nation due to the approaching summer mentality and increase in temperature. College kids suddenly shed coats and find their way out of hibernation in the library in order to see their favorite artists perform in a chaotic, aesthetically pleasing, and over the top environment that has a lure stronger than most solo artist or one group concerts alone.
The most famous of them all, or infamous depending on what your current checking’s account looks like, is none other than the mother of all festivals, Coachella. This festival proves its superiority year after year with A list headliners, fashion as a focal point, and enough space to house nearly 100,000 guests every year. The festival’s ability to have two weekends full of music make it larger and often more desired by consumers than any other festival in the world. The price per ticket, however, often looms in the texts of teens and young adults as the deciding factor of whether they’ll be amongst the “best of the best” who get the chance to experience this festival first hand. The transportation becomes a task of great difficulty do to inflated Uber fares, busy buses, and only a small, local airport in the city. Hotels are booked months upon months in advance leaving those without a connection to house or facility close by out on the doorstep. These hotels prices are also inflated by about 140% at this time (YIKES)! I am in no way shaming this music festival or those who are able to experience it! I went last year and had a fantastic time!! Coachella is an incredible music festival and routinely pleases its large audiences, which is quite obvious considering its consistency.
My objective is to outline your other options. Just because you can’t afford to post a photo in Coachella Valley, doesn’t mean you won’t have the chance to see other artists of similar fame and talent. In the past several years, music festivals have begun to spring up across the nation, giving more people the ability to stand for four days, in their “festival best” clothing, and listen to some of the biggest names in music. In this post, I will show you the costs of Coachella in comparison to some of this season’s other well rounded music festivals across the country.
After careful examination, the festivals below have made the cut as my cheap girl picks. This gives you the CHOICE to put your money where you want to and the flexibility to still create the festival season of your DREAMS.

Conclusion!
Some of these ranges may be a little broad, but the point here is that you can pick and choose where you wish to put your money when attending the festival. The prices of the tickets are static unless they are bought from a seller that is not affiliated with the festival itself. The fluctuation of transportation, hotel rooms, and food will depend on choices made prior to attending the festival such as how many people you’re traveling with, how much food you choose to bring into the venue, if any is allowed, and how much your hotel is with consideration of how much you’ll save by being able to walk to and from the venue. After carefully evaluating many festivals taking place over the 2018 season, these are my favorite festivals that allow you to have fun cheap girl style.
Below I’ve linked the festival websites directly, as well as where I found much of my information for each festival. I hope these links help you choose which is best for your budget, and don’t hesitate to contact me with any further questions or suggestions!

who i am.
Hey everyone, my name is Isabella Rose. I am a current student @ the stunning university of UCLA and pursuing a degree in psychology. My reason for starting this site is pretty simple. I have always loved to travel and as a former collegiate athlete I was able to travel often. I would have four to fives days at a time in scattered places across the United States, and sometimes beyond it, but found myself longing for an extra day away from the competition to really explore the place I had come to. This left me with an incurable “travel bug” and a constant desire to unlock what lay behind the door of time and freedom in a city or state. I began to research “places to see” after my retirement (from the sport) and felt the glare of celebrity and social media studded travel in my peripheral vision. This got me thinking. The only time we see idolized travel these days is in the form of lavish, expensive, and unrealistic travel ventures by those who are sponsored and paid to vacation. As a woman on a budget, I began to wonder if I had enough money to travel somewhere of “worth” in comparison to the posts I would see on my explore page. I decided that I would break the mold of unattainable travel trips and create a plan for people of my age group and presumably my “low budget”, who wish to travel without being shackled to expensive hotels or tourist destinations. Ready to do some exploring? This is my guide to experiencing this beautiful world, cheap girl style.
