hello and happy monday to our beloved lima losers and nyc rats!
as of today, monday, may 3rd, thechoir-roomhq is sadly closing it’s doors! as the real world is opening up again, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for the admin team to devote time and energy into creating this vivid world we have loved so much.
don’t be mistaken, this decision was as difficult and heartbreaking for us to make as it might be for you to hear! we cannot stress enough how much we have adored this group and it’s many colorful faces and characters these past nine months. this world we have built together has been truly incredible and the memories it holds will always be treasured.
thank you, thank you, thank you so much to anyone and everyone who has ever stopped by the halls of mckinley or the streets of new york to craft stories that helped us smile in the lull of the pandemic in 2020.
because you have all become near and dear to us ooc and ic, the choir room discord will remain open for anyone who wishes to chat in it for old time’s sake.
as poor sexy dan’s dad once said, our work here is done, there's only one thing left to do, say goodbye, we bid the choir room adieu with the fondest of regards.
good luck out there in the real world, and as always, try not to get slushied!

TO: <GLEE CLUB MEMBERS 2040-2042> FROM: <[email protected]> CC: <[email protected]> SUBJECT: ¡Feliz Cinco de Drinko...almost!
¡Hola, Clase!
It was so good to see so many of your faces here in Lima last month. Nothing brings the gang back together quite like a wedding and what a wedding it was! I mean...what a stunning MILF/DILF duo. Someone please let me know if they’re looking for a third.
As you all settle back into your routines this month and get ready to wrap up your semesters and embark on your next adventures, I want to leave you all with a hot little piece of wisdom from a woman who has lived.
Bad decisions were made at the wedding. My brilliant and spirited daughter got into a fist fight with the bride’s daughter, someone egged my car, some of you got caught (lying, cheating, stealing), someone put a chicken in my car, and so on. Now, I’m not here to lecture you. That’s Dan’s job. I’m here to celebrate these missteps with you.
Most of you are entering your early 20s and let me tell you...that age is hard! When I was in my early 20s, I made my disastrous sex tape with J.D. Salinger, so trust me, I know what I’m talking about. That’s why this month’s lesson for you all is infamy. As a young adult, you are going to be messy and guess what? There’s nothing wrong with that. Hopefully by digging into this lesson and exploring controversy, scandal and bad reputations, you can learn to cut yourselves some slack. If Britney Spears survived 2007, you can survive the end of the school year and the fact that you texted an ex at 2 a.m.
Now, ¿who wants to get some tacos?
xx Miss Holliday
Week #1: controversial artists (stipulation: abusers will not be tolerated) Week #2: controversial songs Week #3: songs about bad reputations and bad decisions Week #4: britney spears vs. amy winehouse
All group members are encouraged to engage with this lesson creatively—let there be duets, group numbers, solos, mash-ups and more. While there is a decided to focus on different areas each week, song selections are not limited to the following and any/all other artists are welcome!
We encourage you to utilize this task as a way to move your plots along in a very glee way. pick a song in line with the theme and post a self-para or collaborate with another player on a duet and of course just visualize with the group number.
Since this is glee, any character is welcome to sing a song whether it be an actual performance or a dream sequence. if not threads or self-paras, we welcome any interactions that comply with the theme. let us see your characters listening to their songs on spotify, tweeting their reactions, most everything is fair game, we want to see everyone get creative!
As always, thank you all for participating! have fun with this month’s lesson! let’s have a kiki.

DEVELOPMENT TASK THREE (MAY 3-9)
hello lima losers & nyc rats!
now that we are fully into the swing of things, this third task has to do with getting to know all of our characters a whole lot better, and a look into understanding their motivations.
your third development task is: character questionnaires.
you are to answer the following questions about your character any time between the dates of may 3rd and may 9th.
who is your character? (summarize them in like a sentence or two)
what do they want? (external goal AND internal need)
why do they want it? (external AND internal reason)
how do they go about getting it?
what stops them?
what are the consequences?
you may get creative with how you choose to present these answers! it could be a graphic, a text post, your character answering them interview style, quite literally wherever your inspiration strikes you, run with it.
if you’re feeling stuck, try to think of this questions as an aid to develop your character for a setting like TV, a Play, or Film.
as always, the task is optional. good luck and have fun!

WELCOME TO THE CHOIR ROOM, COURTLAND MCINTOSH (hafsanur sancaktutan fc),
here is your SCHEDULE! you have twenty-four hours to turn in your account and post an intro. good luck and have fun with the semester!
[Hafsanur Sancaktutan, cisfemale, she/her] who’s that? oh it’s [Courtland McIntosh]. i hear they’re [19] and are known as [The Wallflower] around [Ohio]. they’re also a [Freshman] at [OSU], and are part of [OSU’s art club & McIntosh Orchards]. they’re known to be [caring & thoughtful] and [prying & an overthinker]. some people say they remind them of [the soft glow of fairy lights, bundling up on a cold winter’s morning, journaling & the first stroke of paint on a new canvas]. only one way to find out! [Bee, 21, GMT]
PLEASE LIST 3-5 DETAILED HEADCANONS
As young children, the twins developed in very different ways. While Braeburn’s speech came to her rather quickly, Courtland dawdled far behind in that area. She didn’t speak until shortly after their third birthday. Instead of talking, as soon as she could grasp on to a crayon for more than a few seconds, she started to draw. It made her so visibly happy that her parents provided her with all the art supplies a toddler could dream of. Her mother encouraged this as much as possible, hoping for a child prodigy, while her father was a little more wary of the mess. He did, however, have a couple of her first paintings of apples framed for his office. Her love for art only grew exponentially from there.
Throughout Courtland’s childhood, her sister was her idol. Her hero. She was always more reserved, keeping to herself and her hobbies unless somebody actively invited her to participate in social activities. More often than not, that invitation came from Braeburn. This pattern never really faded, and during the brief period before her sister came out where she withdrew into herself, Courtland became more aware than ever of how dependent she had let herself become. Even when Braeburn came out and their bond gew stronger than ever, she remained cognisant of her growing need to branch out as her own person.
When Braeburn first came out to her, Courtland wanted to offer up the best possible advice to her sister. To prepare herself for this, she bulk-bought as many contemporary fashion magazines as she could get her hands on. After holing herself up in her room for several days with those after school, she found herself hooked, and still enjoys flicking through these magazines on occasion, even though she rarely goes for the products advertised in them. They provide a range of pose references and jolts of inspiration every now and then for her art.
Throughout high school, Courtland began to feel a need for a little independence, although she wasn’t sure how to establish herself. She wasn’t bullied, but she was rarely included - sometimes she felt like an afterthought, hanging off the edge of Braeburn’s social circle. Eventually, with enough support from her sister, she finally joined the school’s art club towards the end of her sophomore year. For the first time she made her own friends, completely of her own merit, and the club became her passion. Before too long she was its secretary, and then its treasurer, and finally its president by the end of her junior year.
Courtland was always fascinated with the family business. While Braeburn was always expected to eventually take on their father’s legacy, Courtland was the only one who actively wanted to enter the world of apple farming at all. Her pitches for their orchards were rarely taken seriously, until around her senior year of high school. When Biff let the family know he was planning on opening a new orchard in Ohio, she saw an opportunity. With her gradually bolstering confidence she put together a presentation complete with elaborate slides, detailed infographics, and a laser pointer. She rehearsed the speech for weeks on end, mostly with her sister as the sole audience member, until she eventually cornered their father in his office and delivered the whole thing. By the end, he was impressed enough to request that she oversaw the project during her time at college, running that small branch of the business under his remote supervision.

WELCOME TO THE CHOIR ROOM, BRAEBURN MCINTOSH (josie totah fc),
here is your SCHEDULE! you have twenty-four hours to turn in your account and post an intro. good luck and have fun with the semester!
[josie totah, transfemale, she/her] who’s that? oh it’s [Braeburn McIntosh]. i hear they’re [19] and are known as [The Debutante] around [New York]. they’re also a [Freshman] at [NYADA], have a voice like [MJ Rodriguez] and are part of [NYADA Players + Women’s Empowerment Society]. they’re known to be [friendly + generous] and [ignorant of the world around her + easily intimidated]. some people say they remind them of [the shine in lip gloss, spotlights on a stage, freshly brushed hair, the click of high heels on tile]. only one way to find out! [chug, 19, she/they, CST]
PLEASE LIST 3-5 DETAILED HEADCANONS
Braeburn came out and began her transition in her sophomore year of high school. She had come out to herself a few months before, leading to a half-year period of time where she was very stressed and isolating herself over fears that when she came out, everything about her life would change for the worse. This involved a sudden and very unfamiliar emotional distance from Courtland, something that was rough for both twins.
When she came out to her dad, he nodded, sat in silence for about a minute, and then said that if she picked a new name that kept the apple theme, she would get a bright pink (rich person car brand) for her Sweet Sixteen. That car remains one of her prized possessions. In comparison, when she came out to her mother, the overbearing but well-meaning Jennifer McIntosh cried, then locked herself in the family office to read a bunch of articles on supporting your trans daughter, and re-emerged as a verifiable PFLAG mom, complete with a t-shirt and a laundry list of gender-affirming activities that she was ready to do with her daughter. She gave a speech that Braeburn immediately recognized to be the “you can breathe now” speech from Love, Simon, recited word for word, but Braeburn figured she would just hand Jen this win.
Braeburn LOVES matchmaking. Maybe it’s the rush of knowing people well enough to know when they’d work together, the feeling of playing god, or a comfortable way to exercise her romantic wishes in a world where she doesn’t feel ready to date just yet, but it’s one of her favorite things. Courtland is the most likely recipient, but sometimes friends of hers will receive a text with a sneakily taken picture of a barista followed by the words “I found the love of your life!!!! Get over here, I need to introduce you two”
Braeburn was a cheerleader in her senior year, and she had a good amount of practice- while some twins may try to separate themselves, at a young age, Braeburn devoted herself to cheerleading Courtland at every turn. Cello recital? Braeburn insisted on giving a standing ovation. Long diatribes on how Courtland should enter her art into this competition or that? She was delivering them. Even as a child, when Braeburn was looking at Court’s paintings made in art class, she was convinced she shared a womb with a modern day Van Gogh… well, without the cutting off the ear part. Hopefully. She made sure to include that qualifier when she ranted about how good her sister was at holding a brush.
Braeburn was always into theatre. She was outgoing from the start, and insisted on putting on plays for her parents. Upon her insistence, she was put into theatre classes, and her talent only grew from there. Early on, she decided what she wanted to be, more than anything in the world, was an actress. And she was good at it- perhaps as a result of years of training, or just that natural spark of charisma. She had to insist to her father that she wanted to get in on her own talent, no lavish donations or shady meetings with the dean. When she did get in, it was a confirmation of everything she hoped: of her talent, of the world seeing her as she saw herself, of her future in theatre. To this day, it’s one of her most treasured memories, looking at that acceptance letter and knowing that she earned it.

WELCOME TO THE CHOIR ROOM, IAN WRIGHT (dacre montgomery fc),
here is your SCHEDULE! you have twenty-four hours to turn in your account and post an intro. good luck and have fun with the semester!
[DACRE MONTGOMERY, CISMALE, HE/HIM] who’s that? oh it’s [IAN WRIGHT]. i hear they’re [21] and are known as [THE PAPAWOLF] around [NEW YORK CITY]. they’re also a [BARTENDER] at [CALLBACKS], *have a voice like [NIALL HORAN]. they’re known to be [PROTECTIVE AND OUTGOING] and [SARCASTIC AND LOST]. some people say they remind them of [men’s jewelry; such as rings and necklaces, worn on well cared for skin, music played on a vintage record player, and dorky dad jokes that make you roll your eyes]. only one way to find out! [pari, 26, she/her, est]
PLEASE LIST 3-5 DETAILED HEADCANONS
Ian Grant Wright is the only son of Vogue.com Executive. Isabelle Wright. Though she was born in Columbus, Ohio — Ian was born and raised in New York City. He loves being in the city and wouldn’t trade it for anything most days, sometimes though he does wonder what it would be like to be living in a more rural city and the occasional dream of a cabin in the woods floats into his head.
He’s called “The Papawolf” because of his protective nature. One thing he’s known for is giving great life advice to students that come in to have a drink at Callbacks. Many times he’s just a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on but if anyone ever needs help, Ian’s usually the first to offer it.
Isabelle has only ever wanted what’s best for her son, she’s done nothing but help get him into the best internships and opportunities. But at 21 he still doesn’t have anything solidified, so it’s not a surprise that she feels some-what defeated by the fact that Ian is lost when it comes to what he wants to do for his future.

Hi! Working on an app, and I was just wondering about the "acitvities" section. Is there a set list of activities that are acceptable, or is it just anything the character happens to take part in? And if anything is allowed, are there any examples of activity types? Thanks! (:
hi anon! i encourage you to look at our activities page and jobs page to see what our current characters are involved in, however you are also allowed to add new activities! if you want your character to be involved in something we don’t have listed, just include it in your app.
and also, just as a reminder, all art/performance activities should be in nyc and anything sports/greek life related should be in ohio. all other types of activities can be either/or.

WELCOME TO THE CHOIR ROOM, NAOMI LYNN (madelyn cline fc),
here is your SCHEDULE! you have twenty-four hours to turn in your account and post an intro. good luck and have fun with the semester!
[ MADELYN CLINE , CIS FEMALE , SHE/HER ] who’s that? oh it’s [ NAOMI LYNN ]. i hear they’re [ TWENTY ONE ] and are known as [ THE FALLEN ANGEL ] around [ OHIO ]. they’re also a [ JUNIOR ] at [ OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY ], have a voice like [ CLARE BOWEN ] and are part of [ DELTA ZETA & CHEERLEADING ]. they’re known to be [ RECKLESS & HOT HEADED ] and [ PASSIONATE & PROUD ]. some people say they remind them of [ BLONDE HAIR CASCADING OVER HER SHOULDERS THAT HAS JUST BEEN RELEASED FROM A SCRUNCHIE OF SCHOOL COLOURS , STOLEN MOMENTS IN THE MUSIC ROOM WHEN NO ONE IS AROUND , EARLY MORNING ENTRANCES TO HER SORORITY HOUSE THAT ONLY DRAW ATTENTION , ANNOYED SCREAMS WHEN SHE CANT LAND HER STUNTS RIGHT & A DEDICATED PARKING SPACE FOR HER BABY ]. only one way to find out! [ v , 21+ , she/her , gmt ]
- she is the perfect mix of her mother and father, she can be quiet closed off sometimes like her father, finding it hard to trust people & let them in. she struggles at school but excels in music & sports. but like her mother, she is hot headed & rash, she gets tunnel vision when she sees something that she wants & WILL NOT let anyone or anything get in her way. shes been a cheerleader since she could walk but always has a space in her heart for singing.
- when she was 14, she tried out for a part in her school play - the lead , but she didn’t get it & was told that she just didn’t give it her all. there was nothing that she wanted more than that part. so now whenever she does anything, she puts in EVERYTHING shes got. whether thats with school, music, cheerleading or even partying. she is most definitely a go hard or go home girl.
- she is a very passionate person from everything to her clubs or her personal life. although she finds it hard to trust people, she cant help but express herself through passionate means. she hugs you & has probably already kissed you ( all consensual of course ) and its not always romantically - it could be a kiss on the head, a kiss on the cheek and if its on the lips its a just a bigger smacker! she doesn’t have a preference when it comes to who she dates, being in the new directions growing up really allowed her to feel as if she can date whoever she wants & so she does.
- she most def wants to become head cheerleader & president of her sorority next year, so she has her schmooze on with EVERYONE - making friends and connections with all the right people , even if its fake SHES A BRILLIANT ACTRESS and can fool anyone. but soon that façade will collapse & everyone will see how fake she is being.

sorry, i'm anonymous because i'm using a different account, but i'm the one that asked about musicians. the musician i had in mind is a kpop artist and the group they're from has like, this variety show where they do episodes where they're acting in something they made up or playing games with each other or well, a variety of things actually. i was wondering if that would count as acting? because its not interviews, nor is it a talk show.
hi anon! thanks for providing more context. after discussing internally, we concluded that these resources would not be on par for what we’re looking for in our rp. if you need fc help, feel free to come off anon and we can discuss!
